Name: Millet ( called Milly ) Age: Fourteen turns Gender: Female Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual Craft: - Rank: Weyrbrat / Candidate
Appearance: Skin and bones, scratches and bandages. Milly is a through and through Weyrbrat who loves to spend her days running around with her makeshift band of friends. Having grown up in the Weyr running errands here and there she is naturally lithe and toned, her body refusing to take on excess weight thanks in part to her natural exuberance. Her arms and legs are long thanks to the parent she never knew, her Foster mother assuring her that whomever it was must have been tall and good looking. She has large hands which she finds useful when it comes time to carry things around, but otherwise she feels slightly insecure when it comes to holding hands with others. It's a childish insecurity that will vanish with age, but for right now it is mildly a big deal.
Her features are dark, with black hair and slightly tanned skin. It is believed that one of her parents may have had Igen blood in them, be it very distant as it shows up faintly in her make up. While she doesn't look brown like a nut she certainly isn't the usual creamy pale, instead appearing as though she has spent a few hours in the sun enough to garner a healthy tan. Her eyes are a bright blue, almost a cerulean, and they stand out on her face to the point where they look a little larger for her head. Her black hair is usually kept pulled up if she can help it, though when it is let down it just barely touches the bottom of her shoulder blades. She doesn't pride herself on keeping it neat and clean, it usually has dirt and whatever else it in from her rolling around with the little kids, but that doesn't seem to faze her.
She wears whatever is given to her to wear, not really picky over her outfits. Every now and then she does like to be girlie and wear something nice, even going the distance enough to wash up and clean her hair, but this is usually only for fancy events. At fourteen she has not yet started to develop into being a young woman, though she is slowly showing the curvature of breasts on her chest as well as more definition around her hips. Whatever baby fat she hasn't burnt off running around like an idiot is slowly melting away as well, and overall she's turning out to be not so homely.
Personality: Need someone to do something for you, even if it's something no one else would be willing to do? Go ask Milly, she'll do it. She does anything and everything anyone asks her! Such is probably one of Milly's biggest problems, her apparent inability to say no to others. Unable to refuse any request that comes her way, Milly had often found herself in situations that could have easily been avoided where she to learn to say no. This does not mean that she doesn't have the ability to stand up for herself were she to become bullied or was told to bully others, an entirely different concept in her mind in terms of saying no, it simply means she is more than likely to do whatever is asked of her.
One problem that Milly seems to have is how quickly she appears to give up on following her dreams should she be discouraged by others, a bad habit that is only getting worse as she grows older and finds there are many things she cannot accomplish on her own. Granted most of her dreams were from a very childish mind and quite impossible for anyone at any age, though even more reasonable and possible dreams are left to the wayside should anyone tell her such things cannot be done. Her feelings of hopelessness sometimes linger around her for a few days should she pass something over, though they usually dissipate after a while and she has a chance to try something new.
Milly is pretty fond of her peers and does her best to get along with fellow Weyrbrats, be them older or younger than her. She's not overly fawning towards those who have several turns on her, never trying to tag along when they go places or forcibly join herself into their games, but she does seem to enjoy their company quite a bit. To those who are younger she likes to play games with any and all of them, quite willing to be the 'wild cat' in their games of tag, or even the 'dragon' who has to carry the riders from place to place fighting 'thread'. Her reactions towards Riders is almost the same, if not viewed with more awe, though she doesn't actively throw herself at their feet with compliments and constant flattery. She doesn't feel the need to sell herself to anyone for their friendship, because Milly believes that type of friendship isn't really true.
Despite being only fourteen turns old, Milly has an excellent memory for someone so young. She never forgets a face no matter how brief the encounter was and can be counted on to recall a vast number of things. She knows nearly all the names of every Weyrbrat within two or three turns of her age above her, and to those that were born after her she knows pretty much all of them. In regards to those in Craft or those who are Riders she is well-versed in their names and ranks too, as well as the names of all their dragons. Her ability to remember things clearly does not extend to only names and faces, as she has amazing recall over different tasks and things taught to her.

History: If you want to start out thinking with the typical Weyrbrat back story, then look no further then Millet. Her early history could almost be taken out of the pages of any 'Guide to being a Weyrbrat', one of her parents a Dragonrider and the other a common Weyrfolk. She doesn't know either of them, given up shortly after her birth, and she was named by the woman who is currently still raising her. She wasn't in the least bit curious to find out who there are, or if she has other siblings by either parent, and lived most of her early life believing the people she was cared for by to be her birth family.
When she was old enough to be allowed out in the creche to lend a hand at different tasks she jumped to it, eager to be useful. While initially underfoot and unable to do many things asked of her thanks to a youthful inability to pay attention, she found her place eventually and was used and abused ( more like slightly punished, but she liked to exaggerate ). This cycle continued on until she was about fourteen turns old, when she was given the option to stand on the Sands for Impression. Being the decent Weyrbrat that she was, as well as knowing many of her friends were now Candidates, she said yes.

{ x } - Rank
[Magenta] - Love | [Red] - Extreme Like | [Orange] - Friendship [Steel Blue] - Just Met/Barely know | [Olive Drab] - Dislike | [Brown] - Loathe WEYRFOLK ☞ humans_____ PARTNERS ☞ dragons_____ COMPANIONS ☞ firelizards/other_____ * Millet has a good memory, so if you're a Weyrbrat who is 1 - 2 turns older than her, or entirely younger then her, chances are she knows your name and your face. While she may not know who you are, she knows who you are. Just because she knows your name doesn't make you friends, and she doesn't know your history. Just a name and a face.
The same applies to her knowledge of Riders/Dragons and Craftsmen.

name : Gully color : Blue
personality : One of the flitts that hatched from Green Atrisi's two egg clutch, Gully was happened upon while still shelled during an exploring attempt Milly went on with another Candidate, Iden. He is the younger of the two flitts that hatched, with Green Fern as the older.
An adventurous coward would be the best words used to describe the blue, as he seems to think he's something rough and tough but only when he is around Millet ( and she's alone ). When a stranger comes to call he promptly vanishes for a while, emerging later when the stranger has been around for a bit or they're long gone. He's flighty to the touch at everyone but Millet's hands, and when he is with the girl he loves to be cuddled. His favorite spot is in her arms with his head pressed beneath her chin or against her cheek.
His favorite thing to do with Milly when not being on her is having her chase him around, always in good fun and spirits. He never flies too far ahead of her, always close enough that he darts away when she is about to touch him, though the game always ends when she calls him by name and holds both arms out.
Gully is mildly vocal, always responding to Milly when she speaks to him with chirps and whistles. The two seem to like having 'conversations' with one another, no matter what anyone else thinks, and it's almost a wonder if they actually are properly communicating. . . .
name : Trench color : Blue
personality : Trench's egg was actually a rare gift to Millet from a random rider, one who had been watching the girl run around helping others. Given to her because the rider didn't want/have time for a flitter, Milly treasures the little Blue that hatched from within its shell.
Unlike Gully, Trench is a very cut and dry type of flitter in his actions and sounds - his main devotion and attentions being towards Milly. There is quite a lot of protective and possessiveness in their relationship that the blue actually hisses and snaps at anyone and everyone that gets near the young girl (occasionally even Gully). Often the blue has to be tethered about the mouth and at the ankle to prevent him from lunging at others, or Milly simply has to keep him in a tight embrace to prevent any further damage.
When not feeling aggressive Trench is actually a very playful blue, enjoying bothering his person with little tugs here and there on her hair on folds of clothing. He is shown to be quite bright in recognizing words and objects, catching on faster at little mind games then Gully. While Milly has not yet tried to get him to recognize people (a dangerous endeavor) she does believe that he would have no problem should she continue to provide him with mental refreshers. Milly hopes to use Trench one day to deliver messages, but that day is far off.
