Space Invaders was the first GOOD game ever, and though we've come a long way since then, I'm seeing a lot of more recent games that are pure dung compared to it.
Though I am going to have to say Persona 3 anyways.

That's really tough to answer, since there are so many different types of games. It's hard to put one over the other. I'd probably have to list some of my favorite series and which one from the series is my favorite. XD
Devil May Cry - My favorite is probably 3. It has a phenomenal storyline, kick-a** characters, and a decidedly poetic theme (Dante Alighieri's Divine Comedy is referenced throughout with names, settings, and themes).
Dragon Age - The first game in the new series, Dragon Age, is Dragon Age: Origins. It is one of the finest RPGs I have ever come across and I cannot praise it enough. The characters are highly developed, the world is vast and the connection is made on a personal level. The story lacks nothing, as it seems to have all of its bases covered.
Fire Emblem - I fell in love with the series when Fire Emblem 7 came out on GBA in 2003; it was the first Fire Emblem to become available in the United States and is known simply as "Fire Emblem". However, my favorite is likely to be Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance. The only reason so many people know about this one is through Super Smash Bros Brawl. This is the Fire Emblem that the popular character Ike originates from. Like any Fire Emblem, the vast array of characters is stunning. The story is always on the darker side, dealing with such issues as corrupt politics and racism.
Legend of Zelda - My ultimate favorite from this series will always be Ocarina of Time. It was the best in terms of plot, but I believe Majora's Mask overshadowed it in terms of the variety of the world. Still, Ocarina of Time shines through as my favorite. It was fresh, new, and exciting. Completely different from any other Zelda game to date (at the time) and its impression has stuck with me still.
I think that's all I'll put for now. XD

As for assassins creed.. I think it gets boring really quick. It is a very repetitive game and theres really nothing special to it in my opinion.. Not saying its not a good game, its enjoyable. Its just.. You understand, right? Lol.

Assassin's Creed, the first one, was actually really involving. The storyline was good. Well... the "Real World" storyline was good. That's what I didn't like about the second one, there was no "Real World" development really. Though I was just getting started on the whole, hallucinations of Altair thing when I stopped being able to play. (I was playing it at my friend's place, I don't have any system newer than the PS2/GC/XBX, unless you count the DS)
