Vari is the manager of a transport company that her father owns and operates. She currently does most of the paperwork and scheduling, particularly the contracts that are made with their clients. Under Vari's management, they created a new contract that clearly stated "You must be at the meeting point within 24 hours of the scheduled time. If you are not there, Malik Transport Company will claim your items as their own." Of course, being one of the few private companies backed with biometal, the nobles had no choice but to accept the terms. Vari and her employees have made quite a bundle with their legal scam operation.
Father: Abhay Singh
Abhay is the soul creator of biometal and with the exception of Amir, he is the only one who knows how to program the nanobots to initially group together. His knowledge is highly coveted and he is one of the most secure government employees in the MOTHERLAND and since the Mother doesn't pay too well, Abhay makes most of his money by reinforcing the houses and transport vehicles of the nobles. His secret to success has to do with his position: he is protected by and serves with some of the highest military officials. The higher the rank, the more they want biometal, and the more gold they have to spend.
History
War: During the war, Amir was locked deep underground in a bomb-proof stronghold developed by his father and mother before he was even conceived. He had a brief childhood with his mother physically present in his life, but as both sides of the war started making their last ditch efforts to win, Vari was called away by work. He has never met his father in the flesh and sees him on a semi-weekly basis through hologram letters and chats. Amir watched countless movies and read all of his father's books. He developed a knack for robotic technology and has created quite a few orb-like robots to help the staff and, eventually, the rebuilding nations. His only friend is Ammon, his lifelong caretaker, and the patisserie who bakes him sweets on demand (even if he doesn't know her name).
Note: Since Amir is the only other human being on the planet besides Abhay with the ability to program biometal, MOTHERLAND approved of Stronghold's creation to keep Amir safe.
Post-War: A few years after the war had ended, a glitch in the security system (which may or may not have been caused by Amir, depending on who you ask) unlocked the stronghold from the inside and Amir ventured topside. He explored the dank and dirty city of Saltaire only to end up lost in the shadier side of town. Luckily Ammon wasn't too far behind, but he didn't make it in time to prevent the boy from picking up a dirty novel or two. Amir, after being lectured extensively about etiquette and safety, was finally allowed to return topside to attend a party in place of his father. There he met Professor Maximilian and created his first business relationship, as well as a dozen or so potentials. Although he didn't go home with the prize, he has scheduled a return visit to Rheinfels on Jan. 14th.
The second meeting with Maximilian led to a third and Amir finally ended up getting what he wanted: a prince and his first business partner.
Personality
Amir is a spoiled brat and is used to getting what he wants whenever he wants it. Daddy loves seeing his little boy happy and mommy feels guilty for leaving him alone all the time. The two can also be played off each other if Amir wants something particularly expensive OR he wants to get out of trouble. As he's ventured topside, Amir's learned that money can buy him a lot of things and, unfortunately, he has no real value of money and is easily tricked into spending more than he should if Ammon isn't there to stop him.
For the most part, Amir is starving for attention and curious. He does not fully understand how to interact with strangers on a personal (non-business) level and gets easily frustrated if the other party doesn't respond like he wants them to. He will try his hardest to exhibit a positive personality but once he's snapped, the spoiled and demanding brat returns and it's hard to coax him down.

History
Ammon was sold to the Singh family for about the same price as a goat. His parents could no longer keep up with the cost of caring for him and had to make the not-so-difficult choice of giving up their son or dying from starvation. He resented his parents at first, but eventually forgot all about them after spending a few months with the Singh family. They were preparing a safe home for their future offspring, and they wanted to train Ammon to be a big brother of sorts. Abhay taught the young Egyptian via hologram and hired the best teachers that money could buy for when he was called away. Vari, who was taking a few years off to work on her fertility and health, brought Ammon to every information session with the midwife and nanny so he could raise their future son with ease in case both parents were called away.
It didn't take long for Ammon to grow fond of his parents, as well as his role of caretaker. When Amir was born, he spent more time with him than Vari and the nanny combined. He was a dutiful older brother in every way but blood, and the Singhs were very grateful to him as he carefully protected their offspring through the years. So grateful in fact that Ammon was eventually adopted and, although he still plays slave to Amir, he is set to inherit Vari's company when Amir no longer needs cared for. However, he has no desire to do anything but care for his precious friend.
Currently Ammon is in the process of teaching Amir the appropriate way to interact with people on social, personal, and business levels...it's not going well.
Personality
Ammon likes to appear stubborn but he never holds out for too long. If he's asked more than three times, he'll do whatever it is he was asked to do. He's a pushover, mostly for Amir, and always feels guilty when he really has to put his foot down. He doesn't show much emotion when he's in public or with anyone aside from his longtime companion, but when he's with Amir (or behind the Sittercam), he's quite vocal about his annoyances.
Amir would also like me to point out that Ammon is a horrible nag.

An underground fortress of sorts with an outer shell of 6' thick concrete and 2' thick biometal. Created to be impenetrable by any force, with the exception of global destruction. The Singhs began developing the building when they were married for the sole purpose of housing their offspring.
The stronghold contains an artificial sun and ecosystem creator that provides a natural feel of old-India. There is a garden with a holographic sky, a rather large pond, and of course every other amenities found in a rich household. All staff members live in the stronghold and have only recently been allowed outside.
History
Despite being in the 32nd century, arranged marriages still exist and the war made political marriages even more common. Vari and Abhay's marriage was a product of both of these reasons and it was agreed on when Abhay was 20 years old and Vari was hardly a month old. For most of Vari's life, Abhay was a big brother via hologram, but the two eventually worked out a more romantic love. When the agreement was reconfirmed 20 years later, Vari was pulled from her assistant manager job to work on her fertility and Abhay set to work on designing the stronghold.
It took three years for Abhay to work out the designs and purchase the materials, as well as pick up a new son, Ammon, in Egypt. Vari fared quite well with her fertility treatments despite concerns that the nuclear radiation she received while topside would have rendered her eggs useless. Ammon and Vari were placed in a temporary stronghold while the two learned how to care for a child from the midwife and nurses. Vari was a strong woman, but only in mind. This was her one and only shot at bearing a child herself, which she wanted more than anything in the world.
Once the stronghold's construction was finally completed four years later, Abhay and Vari joyously picked out a perfect sperm and egg that would combine to become their perfect little boy. The sperm and egg were united, parasite-Amir was created, and was implanted into Vari. Nine months later, she gave birth to a healthy baby boy and Abhay couldn't have been more excited. The two honeymooned with their two sons in the stronghold for a year, until the war climaxed and Abhay was called away.
Ammon and Vari spent another four years together with Amir and it was a bit of heaven in a hellish world. Vari made Ammon promise not to speak of the war to Amir since she didn't want her precious boy to be worried about anything. He would grow up coddled and spoiled, selfish and needy, but Vari didn't want it any other way. When she was finally called back to her father's company, she reluctantly left Amir in Ammon's care and hasn't returned home since.
The Stronghold never even shook despite the war going on above it. It was a true oasis for Amir and Ammon, as well as the other lucky staff members who were handpicked by the Singhs. Its design could withstand anything at all, well, except for one young man's insane level of curiosity and intelligence. Amir managed to set off a controlled explosion in the kitchen, which filled the northern part of the house with smoke, which led to the doors being unlocked, and the elevator open for Amir to find his way out.
To this day, however, Amir will deny that he was the cause of the explosion, but he managed to see the real world in his 22nd year of life. The Stronghold is a dream house, but Amir grew tired of dreaming.

Biometal is solid made up of a group of artificially-intelligent nanobots that gather together much like electrons in an atom (they appear solid but are really free moving) in whatever form the programmer chooses. Biometal distributes force equally throughout a structure to prevent damage to the whatever is inside or behind it. Created primarily for human, building, and transportation armor.
Sitterbot
A Sitterbot is a modified version Amir's biometal invention. A spherical robot with six arms that it can extend at any given time, also equipped with a camera that feeds directly to its human controller wherever he or she may be. The Sitterbot was originally intended for use in the war, but Amir's father re-engineered the device and marketed it as a babysitter for high ranking war officials to check in on their children OR have them taken care of without any strangers physically meeting the child. Has a fail-safe that prevents any harm to the non-threatening humans and animals.
SurREALity
A much more advanced virtual reality headset that sends impulses into your brain so you see, smell, feel, taste, and hear whatever world you're programmed into. SurREALity is primarily used for dreams and/or work training, but it can be programmed for a world thought out or written out by the programmer.
