Ammon had a wonderful afternoon filled with teasing and teaching Amir about frogs. The young heir wasn't too thrilled to find out that they were slimy amphibians that sometimes had warts, but he was still excited about his pin that Maximilian gave him. It wouldn't be too long before the growing body in the egg became too big for its shell and all of them would have to go to Rheinfels to release it, but it was too long for Ammon. He wanted to see Adelle ever since he left her just yesterday, and it appeared that Amir's impatience had rubbed off on him. He didn't want to admit his impatience, but the woman put him under a spell, and the best part was that he didn't care. Ammon wanted to see Adelle as soon as possible, and a new suit wouldn't kill the budget either.

"Stronghold Calendar?" Ammon asked, turning to the nearest wall. "Please bring up my schedule for the rest of the day and tomorrow." The wall panel's decorative patterned slowly faded out and brought up the day's events. Since most of the business was done in the mornings due to Abhay being in India, whose time was six hours ahead of Saltaire's. Ammon smiled and leaned back on the couch, "Stronghold Computer," he commanded, "Find Adelle's business phone and location and add a meeting with Miss Adelle to my schedule for this afternoon." The computer confirmed the command and Ammon went back to his room to change.

Ammon picked out a more casual suit than normal and looked it over in the ring of mirrors in his closet. He didn't want to appear particularly fancy, since he was going to order a suit from Adelle, but he didn't want to look like Maximilian, either. "This one makes me look...I don't know. Stronghold Holophone, call the tailor," he ordered. It didn't take long for the tailor's assistant to come up and explain that the family tailor was busy with Amir's order. Ammon sighed and asked the woman how he looked, and he ended the call when the woman gave him the answer he desired. "Good, thank you for your time."

After a few more minutes of primping in the mirror (obviously taking a page from Amir's book), Ammon went to his personal desk and brought up the holophone once more. This time, however, he commanded the computer to make a call to Adelle but he quickly hung up. 'Am I being too forward?' he thought to himself. 'No, this is just me ordering a business suit.' It took about five minutes of silent reasoning for Ammon to finally get up the courage to make the phone call and not hang up. Taking a deep breath, he ordered the holophone to call Adelle once more. "Wish me luck."

Running a business by herself was an increasingly hard task for Adelle now that she was located at Rheinfels. Though it was not a job that she had to pay her deepest attention to at this point, an occasional commission here and there and the regulars who needed repairs to clothing she had made them before, she still felt it was her duty to keep the business going and not break out of the routine so soon. Besides, it wasn't like she and Maximilian were swimming in the dough yet- both were incredibly middle class in comparison to their customers. Not to mention it cost to get fresh foods and new equipment for the Prince project anyways. Most clientele kept in touch with her email or phoned in but it was very rare now that she received any sort of kinetic requests until there was the person to person meeting and the bill to sign. What was hard to keep up with now though was all her leads and former connections, seeing as Rheinfels was not the same thing as her single penthouse loft in Saltaire's urban center. Most people chose not to visit her now and she would have to make visits with the car that Tali had given her... which felt too nice to drive in for business means. It felt like a false impression to drive up in that flashy vehicle so when she felt it necessary Adelle would take her older car.

When her strictly-for-work phone rang on an afternoon of a particularly slow week, Adelle was eating a plate of leftover lunch. She placed it down after her cellular rang from upstairs and hurried to go grab it. Usually she didn't carry it around, but left the ringtone relatively loud enough that anyone could hear it (unless they were down in the Lab of course.) It was almost to the point that her voicemail picked up that Adelle grabbed the phone and smashed the send key. "Adelle X speaking," she answered in a professional tone despite the worried rush to catch it in time.

Little could prepare her for who was on the other end but it was definitely someone she'd be happy to hear from.

Ammon was surprised to hear the Stronghold computer's male voice come up stating that Adelle's phone did not have holographic communication capabilities. In this day and age, it wasn't strange for any businessperson that required person to person communication over long distances to have one of the handy dandy holophones. Everyone he had experiences with in the past had one, and more and more models were coming out faster than cell phones in the early 2000's. Of course only the companies fully backed by MOTHERLAND, complete with a chip to track them, were allowed to be seen outside of someone's pocket, but it was still odd to know that his love interest didn't have one. 'I'll have to change that,' he thought to himself.

Holding the mute button for just a second longer, Ammon cleared his throat and smiled as if he were still being seen. "Hello Miss X, this is Ammon Singh speaking. We talked the other day when Amir went to visit Maximilian?" He paused to let Adelle process his introduction and then continued smoothly, "I really enjoyed the time we spent together and would very much like to get more acquainted with you in the near future, and I read an advertisement for your suit shop. I actually happen to need a new suit and the family tailor is busy with Amir's order and doesn't have time for my order. Can we possibly meet up again today for lunch to discuss business? A-and maybe pleasure?" 'Curses, I was doing so well, why did I stutter?!'

In her old penthouse, Adelle had a holographic doorbell but that was the extent of what she could afford. It wasn't something she enjoyed doing especially when there was never a chance to tell when someone else was watching on the other end- plus the woman was incredibly old fashioned. With the phone wedged between her cheek and her shoulder, Adelle stood and began to walk back downstairs to clean up what she left of her dishes. "Oh Ammon hello~" she said enthusiastically.

The woman was unaware of the dangers of their conversation and if Maximilian would have walked in on them then there would be incredible consequences for either of them. "It's good to hear from you again," she said after scraping her food off into the trash compactor and put the dish in the dishwasher machine. Her heels could be heard clicking across the hard floor even through the phone until she went into the den and sat on one of the more comfortable couches, leaning back. "A new suit? Well I can oblige, suits have been my forte for a while now." Her violet eyes scanned out one of the windows to see how the weather was like at the time.

A giggle could be heard on the other end, "I already ate lunch but I would certainly be willing to meet at a diner over some dessert. Do you already have a time in mind that you wish to meet?" Adelle asked and reached for a longer strand of her hair and twisted it idly. "I'll bring my measuring tools with me," she added. "Will Amir be joining us?" she asked curiously, though it didn't seem like she would care if he did or not. Unfortunately she had not a chance to sit and get to know the young royal. "I can be ready in as little as thirty minutes if you need that long?" She was dressed already but it would take a good ten minutes at least to do makeup and then another twenty minutes to get down into the cityscape.

Ammon was like a little boy getting his first robopuppy when Adelle answered the phone. Her voice was candy to his ears and he was more than excited that she not only remembered him, but she also said it was nice to hear from him. He brought his hands to his chest excitedly and pumped them, 'Yes! She responded AND she wants to see me again! This is going well, very well.' Had he not been trained to be as professional as possible at all times, he might have even danced since it wasn't like Adelle could see him. Ammon was the very definition of ecstatic, and his voice showed it. "W-well the suit is just an excuse, really, I can wait for a suit...but I would like to see you again," he said with a wide smile.

When Adelle said that she had already eaten, Ammon's face lowered and his hope diminished. His world stopped and the room seemed to darken, but only for a moment. The rainbows and sunshine came rolling back in when the woman of his dreams finished her sentence. Ammon looked at his watch and realized how stupid he was to ask about lunch, inwardly cursing himself, and then continued. "Dessert at a diner sounds great, Miss Adelle! No, Amir won't be joining us; he's too wrapped up in the pin that Maximilian gave him this morning. I can be ready whenever you are," Ammon spoke softly. "Do you have a particular place to meet in mind? I'm not very familiar with Saltaire..."

If Adelle could see the fluctuating emotions playing on Ammon's face she would get a good laugh or two and perhaps tease him about it- with no ill intentions of course. However, what made her face twist into a confused state was his comment about seeing her again. Oh well, perhaps it was that shyness playing again. "Well I would like to see you again too," replied the voluptuous voice "And alright, I was only curious. Besides, I will have to meet with him at some point in the distant future about his prince's wardrobe." Dismissing the talk of Amir, Madame X proceeded to talk with the phone pressed up to her ear. "Well I do know of a decent place that hand makes crepes and other fancy delights, if you don't feel awkward going to a sweets shoppe."

"If that is where you'd like to go then I can send you the directions in a file over the phone-" although she figured he would've certainly had a device to find the place. Before she would get an answer she stood and went to her room momentarily to start putting on her makeup in front of her vanity and putting Ammon on speaker phone so that she could talk as she lightly decorated her face. "You do know though that a suit fitting is going to cost about 3% if the overall price though." Adelle brought the former subject back up as a playful jab to the nervous man.

When she had finished her makeup she grabbed her coat and purse, turned off the speaker on her phone, and then returned downstairs and pressed the automatic start on her set of keys to warm up her sexy ride (Now was the kind of occasion in which she found it the most useful- visiting someone for the sheer enjoyment of company, even if there was some business involved.)

Ammon was pacing by now; covering ground like a cheetah on the Savannah of old. With the exception of Vari, both men of the Stronghold had very little interaction with women their age. All of the staff had worked for the Singh family for years and were past their prime by the time Amir was born. Ammon did learn how everything on his body functioned, but he was never taught about a woman's body. "You'll figure it out when you get married" was all that was told to him. Amir had even less of an education, but he managed to find a thrilling harlequin romance novel the first time he went topside that taught him plenty once he MOOTHERLANDed the words. Not Ammon, though. He was determined to stick to his religion and stay pure of mind and body.

But Adelle made it really hard.

Adelle made it really hard, too.

Being as pure as he was, Ammon never understood what was going on with his body so he just ignored it as best as he could. Adelle's voice was like music to his ears and every time he heard it, he wanted more. So much more that he didn't want to talk since it would disrupt the angelic voice playing on repeat in his mind. However, the angel wouldn't keep talking if he didn't say anything in return. "You'll be making the prince's wardrobe?" Ammon chuckled, "That might not be a good first impression, perhaps sometime in the not so distant future we can all have dinner? Amir gets rather demanding when it comes to clothes and I wouldn't want him scaring you off." The Egyptian looked at the calendar on his desk and made a mental note to arrange for a dinner.

"A sweet shoppe sounds lovely, Miss Adelle, and don't worry about the cost of the suit. We have many heirlooms at our disposal," Ammon brushed his bangs out of his face and sat back down. He picked up a stylus from his drawer and twirled it around while he tried to distract his nerves. "My phone's ready to receive the file whenever you're ready to send it." Ammon paused as he heard the roar of the car engine and smirked, "I don't know much about cars, Miss Adelle, but my ears tell me that you have a very good one." Ammon made another mental note-slash-demand to make sure to take out a darn good ride on his date. Although it wasn't his style, a little peacocking was necessary to impress a woman as charming as Adelle.

Ammon's words only made the woman smile, though if she could read his mind Adelle would probably be a bit worried to pay him a visit. Alas she was no psychic and could only tell so much about how infatuated someone was over her. "Trust me, Ammon, he should not fret over my princely designs," Adelle teased, "But nonetheless I would prefer not waiting that long anyways." When she felt the car was warm enough she stepped out into the garage and tossed her purse in the back seat then slid her hand over the panel on the wall that would open one of the large doors and unlock her car's tires from the floor.

"She's definitely not an eyesore, that's for certain," responded Adelle with a laugh. "But anyways, I can't quite pride myself on my talking and driving skills so I'm going to let you go and send you that address. See you in a while, Ammon." After hanging up she sat in the driver's seat but kept the car parked. Not only was she terrible at talking and driving but sending information by hand was probably an even worse talent. Using the number that showed up for Ammon's call, she sent the address with a tacky smiley as the subject and placed her phone on the seat beside her.

Yea, he really doesn't know about cars... he's gonna flip his s**t when he sees mine.. The thought made her smile and after cranking the volume to her radio Adelle pulled out of Rheinfels and closed the garage door with the portable switch she had in her car. Down the hill into Saltaire and into the city- the dessert shoppe was practically hidden in a sense but to her it was such a common meeting place for clients that she needed no directions.

As soon as she arrived, Madame X parked particularly far from the building and many other cars and walked through the cold to the door. Once inside she found a welcoming warmth of what appeared to be an old-time fireplace, but that was merely an illusion cast over the powerful space heater the building had installed. Unfortunately, this technology would often prove faulty and Adelle had come before when there were miniature space heaters scattered around the place. Made sense, after all. She spotted a table in the corner that would be out of the way from view. After all, at this point she was a well-known face not only from her frequent stopping here but for her ties with Maximilian as well. Hopefully there would be no distractions during their meeting.

Ammon's smile grew as Adelle's reassurances reached his ears. Of course he had no doubt in the woman's seamstress abilities, but even perfection was not good enough for Amir sometimes. It was as if the boy needed something to be wrong so it can be fixed, which would make it better in his mind. None of it made sense to Ammon, but he did hope for Adelle and Amir's sakes, as well as his own, since the alternative wouldn't be pretty. "I've seen some of your designs when I did my research and I certainly trust you! I just don't trust Amir," Ammon said with a slight groan before chuckling again. "Well I'll have to see for myself when we get there, I'll see you soon, Miss Adelle."

Now let's see if Abhay has any good cars here, Ammon thought to himself as he hung up and made his way to the garage. Amir was the only flashy one in the family, and since there was never a need to go topside before, there weren't many flashy cars stored at the Stronghold. They were lucky to have the carriage, which was a good throwback but didn't do anything for style. When the elevator got to the garage level floor, he stepped out and looked around. Vari did get to seize an occasional car but since they were a pain to transport undercover anyway, they were the first items to be liquidated. However, there was the old family town car, complete with a holographic driver. "It'll have to do, I guess," Ammon sighed as he pressed his hand against the identification pad.

The door opened up with a hiss and Ammon stepped into the back seat, reading the directions off of his phone to the driving console. It wouldn't take them too long to arrive at the eatery, but since the Egyptian wasn't used to Saltaire's layout, he wasn't sure how long his drive was compared to Adelle's. It was never proper to leave a lady waiting so he gave the command for the car to find any shortcut possible and with a few more turns and a lengthy straightaway, Ammon had arrived. He exited the car, told it to park itself, and entered the cafe. "Hello, I'm meeting someone here," he greeted the waitress who took him to Adelle. His gaze softened and his hands relaxed at his sides as he tipped his head, "Good afternoon, Miss Adelle."
PostPosted: Wed Jan 27, 2010 10:04 pm

There was a set of glasses and a pitcher of water already at the table but Adelle had been waiting for Ammon before she would dare order. When the Egyptian arrived at the table she smiled and gestured a thanks to the waitress and waited for Ammon to sit. "Hello to you, Ammon," she said bubbly. It was natural for her to think the situation a bit funny since they had only met just recently and were already setting up a 'date.' (Adelle assumed Ammon would enjoy that sort of label judging by his actions.) "Go ahead and sit, I haven't ordered yet but you can look over the menu."

On the folded card was a number of pastries and desserts ranging from cheesecakes to crepes, eclairs and muffins. For most women these items would be a death sentence to their figure but Adelle thought that indulging every now and then was healthy to her happiness. After all, they didn't have nearly half this stuff up at Rheinfels. "So, how've you been over the past few hours?" she chuckled.

Madame X put her hands down daintily on the table, prodding the tablecloth and scanning quickly over the menu items. "I pretty much am going to get the stuff I normally do, have anything in mind?" she asked after he had a chance to look over the selections. "OH! You can also ask for snacks to take home so you could get something for Amir Im sure." Adelle wanted to be as respectful of both Singh's as possible especially since Amir sounded like someone she didn't want to upset.

Ammon nodded his own thanks to the waitress before taking off his jacket and handing it to her. "You're looking lovely as always, Adelle," he said with a charming smile while sitting down. He scanned around the restaurant to pick up on social ques and admired how quaint the place was, even in this drab little town. Adelle choosing this place made her even more wholesome in Ammon's mind, and he wondered if it was possible that she didn't have any faults at all. Which he wouldn't mind, of course, but every man knows that a woman's flaws are often the cutest quirks imaginable. Ammon's lips curved upward at the thought and took the menu to read it over, recognizing only a few dishes since his diet was primarily eastern. "These are..European dishes I take it? I don't think I've ever had a...crepe before."

The menu was set down and Ammon scooted his chair in, looking at Adelle with soft eyes. "I've been well, although I am slightly jealous of Amir's affection toward his new accessory. I still can't fathom how such a tiny egg will grow into a 'prince', though," he chuckled. "I've never seen Amir so excited, though, so I'm very content with how things are. Ammon leaned back and whispered "Especially now." The words weren't meant to be audible, but when you spend the majority of your life in rooms where your only company is holograms and you're only heard when you press a button, it's hard to remember inner monologues are silent. "I'll have whatever you're having since I'm not familiar with the dishes. It's nice of you to think of Amir, though, I'm sure he'll enjoy trying something new from here."

Ammon didn't think Amir would eat the food, but he hoped the spoiled heir would at least appreciate the gesture. He'd likely do just about anything to get Adelle to like him and wanted to focus on that, but it seemed that Adelle and Amir might be the relationship he had to kindle first. "So, and do excuse me for prying, your...Maximilian seems to dislike me and I was wondering if there is anything I can do to fix the situation. I certainly wouldn't want to anger your brother by any means, especially now since his and Amir's contract was finalized." Ammon poured some water for Adelle, "I'm quite traditional and would like to get his approval if at all possible.
PostPosted: Fri Jan 29, 2010 2:27 am

"Yea, most of them," Adelle replied and placed a hand on the table tapping it gently while she spoke, "Crepe's are a good item to customize though you can get them filled with just about anything." Her other hand then stretched to Ammon's menu and pointed over an image of a finely dressed crepe with chocolate drizzled over its triangular shape.

As their conversation ensued Adelle couldn't help but chuckle, and reached carefully into her purse. Withdrawn was a most gorgeous pin- the one that originally held Brodi's egg. "It's... an amazing feat really," she began, and held the pin in the light, but not high enough above the table to attract others' eyes. "Brodi, well, he was just growing inside this practically a month ago." Adelle grinned, and gently returned the delicate pin to its special compartment. She only wore it on occasions in which it matched her outfit. Completely oblivious to his mutters, Adelle smiled sympathetically. "You sure? You haven't known me long enough to know if I've got good taste in food," she teased.

To Ammon's latter comments though, Adelle made an attempt not to laugh too hard. "B.. brother? Oh dear, Ammon, Maxy is not my brother... we're not even family at all." Nervously she reached back and brushed some hair to behind her ear. My brother? Uh... wow that must be... thats really a strange thing to.. imagine. Her eyes followed Ammon as he poured some liquid for her, and tried to offer a smile in gratitude.

That comment made things a bit awkward. Not between them at least for her, but for the idea of the man she had the hots for to be a relative. Those thoughts led to others and she grew mildly creeped out. "I uh, now Im not exactly sure why he'd dislike you considering how charming you are but he's really not that hard to impress." Of course says the woman that both men had some form of infatuation with.
