Seriously. There's rarely any discussion above "you're such a twitard" "Twilight sucks" "ew, twilight." "Sparkly vampires" "I can feel my soul dying"
I mean really? You're almost being as generalized and one minded as bella and other characters from the books. I'm getting really tired of idiotic little epithets that don't really say much of anything other than you hate twilight. I'VE GOT THAT ALREADY!!!
Try sounding like more than a half-wit when "discussing" something. Even if you think everything about twilight sucks, that's not an argument.
Cariscureuo is an artistic term used both in canvased art and literature. It means the exhemplification of light and dark by comparison. If you draw an apple without a shadow, the bright spot where the light is shining on it is not as noticable and the piece looks more two dimensional. If you think that twilight sucks, pick out a certian point of twilight where you think it sucks, and tell us WHY and use examples from good literature to SHOW that twilight sucks. Build up something more than a boring two dimensional piece of...
Contrast the light good literature against dark twilight books so that you can place yourself on a level ABOVE ANTI-TWITARDS. An Anti-twitard is nearly as bad as a twitard and equally as irritating.

I don't like twilight, and at the same time I do. But, I have my reasons. I've read it from the PoV of a "fan", and the PoV of a writer. Now, Meyer's writing is very solid, and makes good use of several techniques. But the overall story sucks. She has ruined vampires for the new generation, and quite possible werewolves (My personal favourite), Not to mention that now pretty much every twilight fan thinks that anything with vampires or werewolves is a rip-off of Twilight. I came to blows with a MALE fan, for him saying that Underworld was a rip-off of Twilight, and that it was an insult to movie making, because the, And I quote "Love didn't feel real, like it does in twilight". I know I risk sounding like a ranting Anti-tard, but Last I checked, love is not blindly following an abusive dead guy around, and becoming emo because he leaves. At least in underworld, the human became stronger than the Vampire, and they both fought. And it wasn't an abusive relationship. There was no obsession, or anything of the sort.

That's what I'm sick of because it takes no thought and little to no effort to say that sucks. I joined this guild looking for conversation from other intellects on what points they dislike that I may not have noticed or that I may not have seen from that point of view. I'd almost rather rot my brain with twilight than with the anti-twilight stuff that is less interesting and far less intellectual.

I can apreciate that. That is a reason to be upset with twilight. Yes there are irritating mindless people who view twilight as the bible and yes, they view twilight as the end all be all. I'm begining to have a much more optomistic view on tilight-haters now. I thank you for that. This is a good use of rhetoric to explain your position rather than spewing some boring junk about an over-used subject. At least this rant was interesting to read.

That sounds very much like the stereotypical argument people get so here get so upset by when they hear it from a twilight fan. When they sound illiterate, people seem to label them as twitards. It's not so much the fact that you are being crude, but more so that you are using that in place of a well formed argument. I think I'm an anti-twilight because I'm looking for discussion above the level found in the Twilight series. It's not so much watching your tongue as developing a full thought and showing some intelligence on your behalf in doing so. It's really not that hard with some practice. An if you're trying so hard to prove that you don't want to impress me, your point has been somewhat lost in translation. Actions speak louder than words. And to that last point "maybe this isn't your place", I thought this was an anti-twilight guild. I'm banking on there being some people with a higher intellect than what is used in the writing of twilight. In that hope, I'm going to stick around awhile longer.

Right, so in the midst of declaring yourself 'holier than thou' did you ever bother to take a look at some of the older topics in this guild? The reason there are so few intellectual conversations in this guild right now is because we have discussed every single 'serious' issue half to death!
Secondly we aren't all Doctors and Professors on here, not all of us want to have long winded debates, some of us are just fine discussing the issues with good humor. We know how to take a joke. We know how to look at issues and say 'Hey, this isn't all that serious', it does NOT make us lesser than the Twilight fans. In fact I personally have already confronted the issue that we sometimes act out just as irrationally as the fan girls. Why? Because some of us are young, some of us prefer our own personal methods of dealing with the fad, and others, as I mentioned before, take everything with good humor.
It sounds to me that you are throwing a fit because you joined this guild with the attitude that it would be along the lines of a University lecture, and on a Gaian guild that is not possible. You have a lot of nerve judging the entire guild this way might I add. It's narrow minded and prejudice to judge a guild of over 200 members by the actions of roughly 10 members. That's along the lines of saying that every German is a Nazi, or that every person born in the Southern United States is an inbred racist.
You know what makes this topic so nauseating to me? You're snarling at us about how we've stooped to the level of the Twilight fans while you yourself have slipped to the equivalent of a spoiled 6 year old; because you are not getting your own way you're throwing yourself on the ground and screaming.

Since no one here cares about my bloody opinion, I'll post!
Look genius, you think you're the first person here who has done this? I tried to be more human in my posts, showing things other than anti-Twilight ideas, but does anyone actually listen let alone care? No! I feel highly marginalized! I even tried to become a mod, until a certain someone told me I wasn't good enough to be one!
True, I do hate Twilight. But before that, I used to look forward to reading it. However, I was so disappointed about it, that from disappointment, it turned into hatred. Seriously, an idiot falling in lust with an undead pig, and then a werewolf falling in lust with a baby that rapidly grows? Damn it! Is nothing sacred anymore? This it seems, is the product of our devolving society!
Now, it's up to you to actually read my rant and then reply, because I'm tired of being marginalized!

Why do I hate Twilight?
Well, I mostly hate it because of the fangirls (Twitards, if you may). Their minds are so obsessed it that they believe that the relationship between Edward and Bella is true love, they believe that they can just go ahead and marry at 18 and have a kid right away, they believe that it's okay to throw your friends away as long as they have a boyfriend, they believe that having an abusing and controling boyfriend is okay. You catch my drift?
Then I hate the book. They killed vampires. Now days girls believe that vampires aren't scary, oh-no-no, they're sparkly faeries. That ticks me off, but it is a reason why I hate it. I was disapointed with the werewolves, I didn't think they'd be huge wolves, but more like a half-man half-wolf. The book was easy to read for me because my mother language isn't English and I read the book on English, but it was boring. I stopped reading it in New Moon because it bored me. I never finished Breaking Dawn because it had turned into such bullshit.
We have discussed this before, if you want real reasons just go to the old topics instead of throwing a fit here whining about us being like Twitards. I'm sick of people saying we're like Twitards, so sick I'm not even going to rant about it -_-

I'm not going to explain the reasons of why I hate Twilight to someone who's going to act like a pretentious brat about it. If you really wanted to know, then you would have taken the time to look up older topics in the guild. But you didn't. You say we're no better than the twitards? Just read what you wrote. If anything, you're the one that has stooped to their level. You're trying to start a fight over a poorly precieved assumption. As twilight_is_for_idiots previously stated, just because a small percentage act as poorly as the twitards from time to time doesn't mean we all do. Seriously if all you're going to do is throw a fit, then please do us all a favor and leave the guild. Remaining here would only be hypocritical to your moot argument.
