Was Isabella. Coincidence? Or am I just being paranoid? Edit:This was in the article: Quote: For example: “Bella” was nowhere to be seen among the most popular baby names of 2008, but in the wake of the huge success of the “Twilight” series, it skyrocketed to No. 67 on the top 100 list of the decade.

I'm sure all of the fans who named their baby Isabella just did so to nickname her Bella. But I know that my baby cousin is named Bella and it has nothing to do with Twilight, as far as I know.

Isabella is also a nice name apart from it's twilight association. It may not have been hugely popular, but several of those babies names probably had little to do with Twilight. One can only hope.

Let them name their daughters after Bella. Because really, who doesn't want to name their daughter after a co-dependent suicidal 17-year-old from a terrible book series? /sarcasm
A weird coinkydink, my mom wanted to name me Isabella (or Isabelle) but my dad put the kibosh on it fearing I'd get the nickname "Frizzy Izzy". Though looking back at it now, I'm glad they didn't for the sake of not constantly hearing "OMG liek from Twilightz?????" sweatdrop
Oddly enough, my name is Jessica, so when I read Twifail, I was not very amused that the character named Jessica was a somewhat stuck-up, self centered witch. stare

Do explain. -confused- I think it had something to do with the fact that instead of Belle or Bella being a nickname from Isabelle or Isabella, my mom said she liked the nickname Izzy for a girl, so she would have used that instead. The "Frizzy" part would probably come from me having very curly hair. Hence, Frizzy Izzy. Or so I assume.

If I decided to have the name Bella in my daughter's name, (if I have one) then it would have to be Bellatrix (after Bellatrix LeStrange from HP of course).

My theory as to why Isabella is a top baby name is not because of Twilight, but because of the cartoon series "Phineas and Ferb". Note that there is a female character there named Isabella.

Good thing Renesmee is not a baby name. If it is now, then my theory is wrong.
