I see that there are a lot of different beliefs in this guild. Now I have a simple request. Just explain the reasons for why you believe what you believe.
Cheers biggrin

I believe in the divine because I look around me and see nature and all the wonderful cycles and synergy of how it all works together and I am in awe of that. I also believe because I feel something beyond us, like a shimmering thread of something running through all life, all of nature. I know there is something there and for lack of a name for that spark I simply see it as a universal divine energy that runs through everything. I chose to worship as a pagan because I like the focus on nature and balance that it allows me to seek. It's focus on personal responsibility for my own spiritual well being. Being able to communicate directly to my deities. The freedom to worship out in nature, to express my faith in a way unique to me.

It just kinda happened really. I was Catholic but as I got older I just believed less and less. Once I was 12 I just kinda said "...I really don't believe this stuff."

rmcdra Religious experience that verified my belief system to me. Pretty much the same for me, plus what I've read and seen really tends to back up what I believe.

a lot of wrestling and struggle and many mistakes,
some kind friends,
observing quiet people who set a good example without preaching,
and finding something that just "rings true'.
it strikes an inner note in me.

I am a hard Atheist. I'm one of the very few that are fully agree and believe there is no way a God is possibly out there. For one, how we recognize God, why he/she/it has this name, how it is described, and why it's only a human concept. With that, there's no possible way to prove any of these "Gods/Goddesses" and the only rational way to go along with it in my opinion is to let go of the chances it exists at all. If it makes you feel like there is something more in your life and gets you going and believing in yourself, that's your own personal freedom and I respect that. Just keep it out of where it doesn't believe like politics and preaching. No one should have to be forced to believe or make it into a theocracy where you are in the United States of a thousand cultures. Respect others for at least having a different culture than you, that's all I ask for, since I do the same.
I believe it also because I am a rational, thinking person that knows to always be skeptical of something that looks too good to be true. Nothing is free or perfect or the answer to everything because life isn't easy.
