The Vatican hates Twilight, but for the wrong reasons. This will kind of be a hit against us, if you think about it.
First Mormons turn their backs to Twilight, now this.
Whatever, Discuss.
Discuss.

Clicked on a link underneath it, and I now have a whole one thing to like Miley Cyrus about: She doesn't like Twilight. Still hate her music though. And her. So I like her about .5%
Anyway. I would be able to base an opinion if that article said a little more, y'know? :I Ω

Lol, all those comments are about how much they hate her now, and how she's an attention whore for hating it.

I have to agree with his holiness, The Pope, on this one that Twilight is a "moral vacuum with a deviant message" when taking the plot into consideration -- - Girl falls in love with a dead guy - Dead guy is over 100 and she's underaged - Girl gets dumped by dead guy and jumps off a cliff - She survives and gets involved with a wolf boy - Dead guy comes back & starts dating her more seriously - She eventually marries dead guy - She has sex with dead guy and they have freaky half-dead baby - wolf boy falls in love with freaky half-dead baby That's without even taking into consideration that Bella wallows in self-pity to the extent that she might as well be the poster child for the emo lifestyle.

Yeah actually Trussardi that does seem... ugh. When you think about it...
Really? Last time I checked that talentless pop-country star LIKED the series. 2 sources at the same time saying different things; maybe she's just doing it for the attention? Who knows.

This doesn't surprise me. The Vatican also denounced Harry Potter despite the fact that JK Rowling was raised Catholic.
Still, I give the Pope a thumbs up for this one. We all know the books promote abusive relationships and sexism.
As for Miley, I heard she hates it because the dude that plays Jacob kissed her while shoosting some movie (the kiss wasn't written in the script supposedly) and then he rejected her.

Frankly, it's about time His Holiness said that. The next thing that I'm gonna be watching for are imams denouncing Twilight.

But they're hating it for the wrong reasons. They're saying the part about glorifying vampires is bad (it kind of is) but they're not mentioning anything about teen pregnancy or abusive relationships. And how about Harry Potter? Harry Potter has nothing really wrong with it, but they're bashing it because it encourages the use of magic.
Bottom line: I'm happy Christians don't approve of Twilight; I'm disappointed in their being so hard-minded.

He's not going to sit down and read Twilight, Harry Potter or any other book he condemns as evil. All he probably knows is that Twilight glorifies vampires more than any other book and presents them in a way that makes them look cuddly. I'm sure he would condemn it for the other things also, but they do not get hyped. It may seem like a hypocritical way of going about things but as the head of the Catholic Church, I would think and hope that he would have far more important things to do.

Quiero lamerte hasta que te vengas en mi boca mil vecesActually, for Harry Potter, this has been going on...
Fr Luke, of Quarr Abbey on the Isle of Wight has spent the last 12 months writing Baptising Harry Potter: A Christian Reading of Harry Potter, due to be published internationally next year.
Some Christians have condemned JK Rowling's Harry Potter books, accusing them of promoting witchcraft and paganism, but Fr Luke said his studies highlighted their strong references to Christian principles.
"I was hooked on the books since reading the first one.
"I do not think there is any intelligent view out there that says these books are evil. They are the sort of objections that come from people who have not read them.
"What are they suggesting we do, ban everyone who turns up at a children's party to do a few tricks," said Fr Luke.
"I don't feel at all that the books were leading children away from Christian spirituality.
"They are full of Christian themes of love and sacrifice," he said.
In the book he draws comparisons between the use of magic to the use of technology in the real world.
"There is a parallel with some of the writing of CS Lewis, however he generally associated magic with evil. In the Harry Potter books there are many things that are shown as magic, but they translate to technology we have in the real world that can be used for good or evil," said Fr Luke.
He began writing the book last year, but said that the research had taken around ten years and there could be follow-ups to this project in the future.
