Some of you might not know, but lately the most powerful man on Gaia has been seeking some new friends, as can be seen on his profile.Unfortunately... he's only interested in newbs, apparently. @_@ A new part of the new user quest involves getting an email from Gambino himself, and being able to add him to your friendslist. As a neat reward, you get a solid gold pen, signifying the deep bond you developed by clicking a button! Luckily for all us older folks, we can become his friend, whether he wants us to or not. evil Click, and reap the rewards! Think we might be able to friend other NPCs in the future? Or has Gambino just become the Tom to Gaia's Myspace? burning_eyes

...It's either a Tom thing, or he's plotting something. I mean, honestly, how likely is it that Gambino is just giving out gold to every Bob, d**k, and Jane, just to be friends? I'm not saying that he never does anything just from the graciousness of his heart, but...wait...Yes. Yes I am saying that actually. There is nothing to suggest that this is more than just a publicity stunt, or a scheme.

Da Mangaka In the words of General ... something from star wars: IT'S A TRAP! Admiral Ackbar, actually. Though, I'd say that this is another one of those "LOL NEWB QUEST" things that they come out with every few weeks. Probably won't do anything at all, as far as plot is concerned.

stare I think he's plotting for something which eventually planned a long time ago...
We need to infiltrate and investigate about this matter... it could end up in two paths:
-an overall dominion or something (maybe slavery.. ninja ) ; or,
-an unified business partnership in the world of Gaia

I doubt there will be any plot that has anything to do with this for a long time. Six months down the road, something will happen, and Gambino will briefly mention in a manga or something "all those pens I gave out" to some sort of humorous purpose, and that will be the last mention of it, at least for another six months.
So...it's pointless, save for maybe being a minor detail. Otherwise they probably would have made an announcement about it or something silly like that.

Guy's...looking at his profile...his motive seems pretty clear... NPC GAMBINO Above all, I love making new friends. While some people-- like that rat Von Helson-- prefer to get rich by exploiting strangers, I've built my empire in a much more honest way: exploiting my friends! Every new friend is a potential customer, donor, investor, partner or, best of all, sucker So, what do you say-- will you be the next brick in the Gambino edifice?
