I wore the cheap glow-in-the-dark fangs too. It was disgustingly hilarious. My sister went into a fetal position when I turned to her and said, "I like watching you sleep."
I met a couple of people who knew who I was. I carried around the book for a reference. (It was the original cover.) The first woman who knew who I was said she read half the book and watched half the movie, and I told her, "Don't finish it." The second girl laughed uncontrollably when she figured out who I was. She said she was a fan but loved my costume, even with the fairy wings. Whenever someone else asked who I was and didn't know, I said, "I'm a sparklepire/fairy vampire."
Also, my family went by the local school to see a costume contest. I entered in both the "scariest costume" and "junior high/high school" contests. Unfortunately, neither I nor my sister won anything, probably because we were from out of town. My sister was the Quaker Oats Man, and I think she definitely deserved to be the "scariest."
I'll post pictures of my final costume when I get them. Until then, you can see the other pictures in the topic My Halloween Costume is....
I didn't get very much candy.

Yeah... I got glitter all over my face and I put it in the wig, too. The only downside was that it went through the wig to my actual hair, and I had to pick it out. burning_eyes I hate glitter.
