Oh yeah I'm back with my usual crack pot conspiracy theory's...So let's get down to it shall we?
Ok the way I see this going is during the mayhem and madness of the two waring factions. Jack will intervene stopping both sides telling them that the war is not why he brought them back. The two sides still fueled by there hatred for each other will attack jack together a temporary truce but jack will proceed to beat both of them and banish them once again.
So what do ya think?

I somewhat agree with TIM, but I'm hoping that it lasts a little longer then that. Like, maybe it will extend until the holidays, like the zurg plot did. That would be cool. And we could get new skins, like, demons and fishies.
and it wouldn't hurt if we became famous again.

And Gaia does tend to have the "Let's all be friends [so we can just not have to write more story and keep the relationships inert]" mentality.
I'm not sure how potatoes fits into it yet though sweatdrop
If there were demon and fish skins, which I really do doubt, considering we have vampire and assorted demonic skins as well as all the items needed to make a fish, I can also guess which one will end up with a higher value at the end of the event....

they tried fish items once, it was a flop.

Guys, the potato isn't a part of this, but where does this one news person come in? My idea is he will throw a third unjoinable faction that owns everyone cause they are all ghosts. Then Jack steps in and kills the ghosts then the two friends are friends again. And it is Happily ever after till the next event.
Or we all die and Gaia goes bankrupt.

This is the most likely outcome.
As far as your theory, Tanis, I disagree entirely.
First, Jack did set them free for the purpose of causing trouble and letting them war. He wouldn't have let the Overseer out as well as Sentinel if his intentions were merely to have them cause trouble, since Jack must know the Overseer's nature and that he wouldn't do such a thing.
Second, Sentinel and the Overseer wouldn't work side by side unless they became buddy buddy again. Sentinel has a very precise purpose, to take over Gaia and all that jazz. And the Overseer's there to stop her (wow, way to have your OWN goals rolleyes ). There's no way someone who is true evil would ever stray from her hostile takeover for some petty interruption by Jack, no matter how much more powerful he may or may not be.
Third, Jack wouldn't stop a war. He would thrive on it. He may stop it after the holidays, but it's more likely to end on its own. See Iron Magus' theory for how the most likely way is going to be, given the past of the two characters. I think that Jack is going to have much less involvement this year than usual. Then again, given the manga of him taking auditions, I'm not sure what he has planned. :/
