The Singer
Name: Fjolnir
Meaning: Named after a king in Norse mythology.
Pride: None, anymore

Personality: Fjolnir grew up in a pride of brightly-coloured lions who lived in peace and harmony deep in the jungle. They put great stock in arts, especially singing, dancing and storytelling, and were basically pretty hippie-esque. Except not vegetarians, obviously.
Then one night, his pride were surprised and completely slaughtered by a band of human hunters, leaving only Fjolnir alive - his mother sacrificed herself to get him into hiding. Only Fjolnir, and his best friend and (though he was a bit too young to understand it back then) childhood sweetheart, the spirited dancer girl Fenja. He saw the humans take her away and stick her in a cage.
Since then, Fjolnir has spent his entire life guarding as much of his pride's old lands that he can keep with his own strength, and waiting for Fenja to return. He can't move on from the trauma of having seen his entire family murdered before his eyes, and basically the only thing that's keeping him from a deep, destructive depression is the thought that Fenja is still out there, and will one day come back to him and be his family again.
Fjolnir is also a gifted singer.
Looking for: Random encounters and friends, but what I most of all would like for him is a challenge or two. Either the Love Challenge - A female who falls for him and tries to convince him to let go of the past and leave his homeland (however, applicants for the love challenge must be okay with being rejected in the end, OOCly.) or the Strength Challenge - A strong challenger who manages to drive him from his homeland, forcing him to become stronger and possibly find a few friends in order to take it back again (applicants for the strength challenge must be OOCly okay with losing the land in the end.)
A few friends who could come to accept him as he is would also be nice, especially if he is going to need their help for the strength challenge later.
Species and genders do not matter at all. Toss me what you've got.EDIT: I think I need to stress this: Fjolnir does not leave his lands (unless driven off by the strength challenge) so encounters have to be in or very very close to his territory. He has everything he needs in his home, and has neither reason nor inclination to go anywhere outside its borders. He's actually pretty compulsive about that.

The Hunter

Meaning: Hunter

Mother: Estranged, probably dead.
Father: Dead
Siblings: None
Personality: Jii genuinely has a heart of gold, but he has had a rough life. He has been abandoned, used and abused, with has made him bitter and suspicious. He functions a bit according to the "Get them before they get me" -rule, and can therefore be seen as both rude and aggressive.
I'm looking for a restart for this guy, as most of the old RPs I had for him have sort of faded into obscurity... mostly my fault, I'm afraid.
Looking for: Friends. Someone who can see past his defences and see that he's actually a pretty decent guy, deep down. Preferably someone who can laugh off his rudeness and make him laugh as well.
Mate. I'd really like for Jii to find a nice mate. I don't really care which species she is, as long as she is either:
1. A strong person who doesn't let his abuse faze her too much, maybe a mothering type who can teach him to behave. OR,
2. Someone who's just so sweet and caring and loving that he simply can not bring himself to hurt her.
The key to Jii is to either to be someone who would make him want to protect them, or be someone strong enough to protect HIM.
Come to think of it, I'm also open for suggestions from males. It could be some very interesting RP, as Gahiji is definitely thinking of himself as straight, but the right person could throw him completely off-balance...
