[ T'ren ]

Rider Name: T'ren (Taevren)
Rider Age: 29 turns
Rider Gender: Male
Rider Sexuality: Heterosexual

Rider History: Born in the Weyr to a callous mother but a distant, doting father, T'ren grew up as a rather strong hearted weyrbrat with a penchant for causing mischief. His father was the rider of a brown dragon, and his mother a green- and as a child, nothing made T'ren more proud than to boast about his supposed rider heritage. His father often lavished him with gifts around his birthing day (or other holidays), but never initiated much of a relationship. T'ren treasured the gifts he was given immensely, and saw his real father as an idol to be looked up to from afar, and his footsteps to be followed in.

T'ren thrived much the way any weyrbrat might. He grew up rather lazy due to hiding, lying, and shirking chores within the weyr whenever possible; he never quite grew out of these childish habits, though he likes to think he has. He stood for four impressions, and was sixteen turns before he finally impressed a dragon and become a rider himself. (Though T'ren wouldn't have known what to do had he never impressed- he felt himself almost destined by his heritage to do so.)

Rider Personality: As a compulsive liar, T'ren is somewhat of an enigma to people in the Weyr that know him. He lies when he thinks he can get away with it, and often for no reason at all. He has quick tongue and wit, but a lazy attitude; while he takes his duties seriously enough, he's no stranger to weaseling his way out of work and dumping it on others when he can. Yet, despite his lousy work ethic, the man is an incredibly cheery sort and enjoys being friends with as many people as he can (who all have conflicting stories about who, exactly, T'ren says he is).
He can however be passive-aggressive and mean-spirited when things do not go his way.

He has a love of Klah and a love of stews, and regularly wanders to the kitchens to snack and converse with anyone in the process (literally, and usually while chewing. His manners are atrocious and have never improved). He makes bets with his peers over just about any challenge; he enjoys gambling immensely and would never hesitate to enter a game of chance.

Rider Appearance: The first idea that comes to mind is that T'ren is very brown. His skin is naturally a light tan, and his hair is a very dark, rich chocolate color; his eyes are umberish and watery and have become somewhat farsighted as he's gotten older. He has a large birthmark on his cheek and again on his knee (which he swears looks just like a dragon, and will show to anyone who dare inquires), and various moles and freckles spread out across his body.

T'ren is somewhat tall at around 5'7. He's an all around average guy, and the truth of the matter is that he isn't particularly well built or devilishly handsome (though he would argue otherwise). In actuality, T'ren is stocky for his height and has a wide barrel chest; he's got large feet and large hands, and goofy ears that stick out awkwardly from the sides of his head (often being teased that they're headknobs and not ears). His face is wide with high cheekbones and a thick, strong jaw- and it's adorned with a flat, broad nose. His hair is short, but thick; wiry and absolutely untamable. It frequently chooses its own direction on a daily, sometimes even hourly basis.

[ Chaveth ]

Everyone, when faced with the question "does my butt look big in this", knows the answer is: "no hunny, you look perfect." Everyone except Chaveth, apparently. Her idea of an ideal response it, "You bet sugar! I'd lay off the meat rolls if I were you; you got a butt like the side of a barn!" Honesty is the best policy, after all, even if it means you are so brutally honest that you make people's jaws drop from the sheer truth of it all. She takes everything at face value, and doesn't seem to realize that the answer she gives people isn't always the answer their seeking. Social subtleties escape this green, and no matter how many times she's been told to be polite and mind her manners, it seems like nothing is sticking very well in her memory. The colour of the dragon she's addressing doesn't appear to matter much to her either; she's just as frank with a gold as she is with another green.

Her honesty can often times be mistaken for unkindness, but that couldn't be further than the truth. Chaveth is never overly harsh nor does she deliberately go around trying to hurt other dragon's feelings. She just tells it like it is, whether people like it or not. Hers may have a hard time convincing her to lie, even on his behalf, as she doesn't understand the motivations for such behaviour. If Hers wants to shirk off duty, then why shouldn't she just inform the Wingleader that he's not showing up today? Wouldn't that be better than trying to sneak around all day? Chaveth is as open and honest with her own self as she is with other people, and has no problems talking about even the most personal things. She's certainly not the kind of dragon you tell secrets to as she doesn't believe in hiding things from others in the Weyr. They're like one big family, and families don't keep secrets!

She is not a particularly motivated dragon, and can easily be convinced to shirk duties if that's what Hers wants. Chaveth just doesn't try to lie or cover up her absence likes Hers does. Flights are neither here nor there with this green. They're just a part of nature and she does what is expected of her. She's a poor flirt – probably because she's so honest with her suitors – but she wouldn't be too upset if Hers decided to settle down with someone so she didn't have to hurt feelings every time she Rose. But she'll settle with anything, so long as it suits T'ren's needs. As far as dragons go she's not very needy, and content to take whatever she gets.

Why Me? Compulsive liar T'ren may not find a kindred spirit in Chaveth, but she thinks she can straighten him out onto the path of the honest! He'll certainly require all of his quick wit to save face whenever his green is too frank with both superiors and wing mates alike. In return, she won't nag him about his work ethic or his gambling, and will give him all of herself. He'll never have a better friend than her, even if she does get him into a bit of trouble now and then.
