Horror Inc. Monthly Newsletter

August 2009 Volume 1:Issue 1

Hi everyone!
This is the first issue of the Horror Inc. Monthly Newsletter. The mods and I have been working together on this for the past few weeks, so I hope everyone likes it. The guild has come a long way since it's incarnation. We're not exactly where Masters of Horror used to be, but we are working toward our goal and inching forward little by little. If you haven't posted lately, I encourage you to come in and make your own thread or just post your reactions to someone else's.
Also, if you haven't already done so, please add our guild mule, Horror Inc. It's important that you add her in order for us to efficiently run the guild. If you ever have any questions, comments, or concerns, please PM Naomi, Horror Inc, or myself and we'll get back to you as soon as possible.
Thank You,
Vanilla eXee

Contests
Our Horror Art Contest concluded last month with the following results:
Glenn Hughes [Formerly Zahwomen]
Nanooki
Baron Von Turkeypants
Chrow the Faithless
All entries were amazing and it was hard for us to just pick a few, but alas, we can't afford to give everyone prizes!
Thank you all for participating and we hope you'll do so again in our next contest.
Our next contest begins in September, and it will be a Halloween themed writing contest. The contest will end probably a week or so before Halloween. We will also be having a "send in your picture" costume contest the week of Halloween, so be sure to check the guild for updates on both of these contests.

Threads to Die For
This month D_Marx is continuing the "Survival 101" legacy with Alien Survival 101. Packed with more questions about alien life and their interaction with earth than a can of soup, check it out if you need your otherworldly fix.
x_Ayapi_x filled our need for decent reviews before we bother to watch a movie by creating the Horror Reviews thread. If you've seen a horror movie, read a scary book, or played some twisted games, then head on in and review them!
You say you love music and horror? Well you are in luck! Thanks to blindedscience we now have a place to discuss wonder of wonders, Horror Rock
Last but not least, Lucie Furr sheds some light on cryptids such as the "Montauk Monster" with her The Truth Behind 5 Real Monsters That Fooled the Internet

Guild Spotlight
Starting now, we'll be accepting articles from all of you to be included in the Newsletter. Every month we'll pick one article and the writer of that article will get a small prize of 5k. Your article can be about anything horror related. Feel free to let your personality and opinions shine through, this is your chance to be heard! Please send your articles to the guild mule, Horror Inc (title the PMs "Guild Spotlight Entry").
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
That's all for now folks! We have more articles and sections in store for future editions, but we wanted to get this one out before the month is over! We'll be putting up a feedback announcement in the guild, so after you read this, please go there and let us know what you thought about the first issue! Or if you'd rather be anonymous, then send your thoughts to the guild mule instead!
