I... I wanted to D: I know so much. I must share my knowledge with you. You might not get all these if you don't know fourth gen =D Enjoy these random and pointless facts!
-Poliwag was the first ever Pokemon
-Ash was originally going to have a Clefairy instead of Pikachu
-There is no bug-type legendary
-There is no pure flying-type Pokemon
-The only Pokemon with no weaknesses are Sableye and Spiritomb, both Ghost/Dark types
-One episode was never aired in America and was permanently banned in Japan for giving hundreds of Japanese children seizures, killing four
-Arcanine was originally going to replace either Moltres or Ho-oh
-Pokemon has broken more world records then any other franchise
-At the end of the original Pokemon manga, Jessie and James get married and have a baby, and Meowth continues to live with them
-Ash's first kiss was James dressed as a girl [I have yet to confirm this, someone said it on Serebii]
-Riolu was created a month before the fourth generation was released
-Mew isn't the only Pokemon that can learn any move, Speargle can too

- Houndooms will expel a deadly gas from its mouth if threatened. This is also why a burn inflicted by a Houndoom never stops hurting.
Those facts are amazing. I should find out more myself and help contribute!

An episode was banned for extensive use of guns,The name was the legend of dratini. There is a new pokemon movie,featuring possibly all the sinnoh legends(heatran,dialga,palkia,ect.)the johto starters will also be there,and a notched ear pichu.heres the image:  (got this on serebii)

Yes, at the end they got married and Jessie was pregnant ^^
And Notched-Ear Pichu is THE most useless Pokemon ever. All that's special is it knows Volt Tackle and can't ever be traded.
And yes, Arceus Conquering Time's Space movie will be coming out soon, as well as more news for the HeartGold and SoulSilver Johto remakes.

there were technically 2 non-legendary legendaries! their species title changed later

also ho-oh and raikou never appeared in any movies

POK'EMON <******** Episodes banned from Television:
Porygon episode with Seizures
Dratini episode with Guns
James in a Bikini with boobs Episode
And then an episode where Ash and them go into a tower with Ghosts.
It was banned for a while because it's name was "Tower of Terror".
In the Eevee evolution branches, Vaporeon is TECHNICALLY the best when going up against other Eevee evolutions, as it can learn Water moves (beats Flareon) and Ice moves (beats Leafeon).
The Eevee evolutions are missing the following types:
Normal (Unless you count Eevee)
Fighting
Steel
Poison
Ghost
Dragon
Insect
Flying
Rock
Ground
When you breed a Kangaskhan, it hatches from the egg with a baby in it's pouch. That's a little weird.
When you breed a Chansey, you can still hatch a Chansey from the egg... with an egg in it's pouch. That's REALLY weird.
And I can't think of any more right now.

Poliwag wasnt the first pokemon. Mew was trademarked BEFORE Pocket Monsters, so Mew is older than the Pokemon Franchise, ergo Mew is the first pokemon.

No, Poliwag was the first ever designed Pokemon, the creator said so. As well as how he created Pokemon by thinking of how he collected bugs as a kid.
Ho-oh appeared in Lucario and the Mystery of Mew, even though it was Mew in disguise and it's planned to make an appearance in the upcoming Johto movie featuring a fight between Ho-oh and Lugia. Also--Raikou and Ho-oh have had at least an appearance in the anime.
Also HO-OH is the same backwards, flipped and upside down. No other four+ word is as flexible.
