There are times when something absolutely brilliant drops and you Need it, or maybe it's something you've been waiting drop for ******** AGES, or whatever... And more than you rolls on it... And you lose.

What was that item? And do you still remember who (as in class or whatever) you lost it to? And what you roll was compared to theirs?

It just happened to me a short while ago.

Did a timed CoS run, something I didn't think I'd get to do since I didn't think my dps was good enough yet, and we made it in time and, of course, the bronze drake dropped... Only two of us were rolling on it and the other person won.
I mean, I'm happy for 'em and all but... *mimes choking them and bashing their head on desk* ...Yeah, I'm happy for 'em. lol
Didn't pay attention to the rolls other than the fact that I lost. lol

I don't care about losing rolls as long as it's fair.

but back before tbc I was in Zul'Gurub and we just downed Bloodlord Mandokir.. well he dropped the Halberd of smiting I had been wanting for so long as I was a retribution paladin and had a s**t weapon, well I roll on it.. and then a holy paladin rolled on it and won it. I wouldn't care as much but he never used the weapon after this that I seen.. and besides he already had really good gear and always got to go to raids. I never would get to go hardly.

i dont mind losing except when it happens on major items....ya know? take for example. i raided mostly during the TBC era, we were just doing a farm run thru Mount Hyjal and the quickstrider moccasins dropped on the only farm night i could attend for a long time, being a hunter and class leader for our raiding guild, that piece was by far the best for me. instead of passing the rolls to me, the other 3 enhance shamans and 2 hunter rolled and i ended up losing the only chance i had at them know full well the other raid nights i could attend were for sole purpose of pursuing Kiljaeden.

The Maexxna trinket from Naxx 10, don't remember the name anymore, since I somehow gave up on it. It was, and is still, the last item I need to be Superior (I cheated and switched trinkets to get it, woot). I'm even on my way to the Epic achievement. And so, when it dropped, I rolled highest and thought luck was on my side. Then our main mage got it without rolling, 'cus he had a higher rank in the guild than me. I know our rules say, that higher ranked members have the right to get better loot, but what annoyed me was, that he didn't even roll, and 2 other priests than me rolled on it, 1 of them having the same rank as the mage, my classleader.
Also a pugged instance healer once rolled higher than me on DPS pants and a DPS ring, for no reason whatsoever, he just wanted the items.

Shortly after hitting 80 (mid-december-ish), I was with my guild when we killed Sartharion for the second time as a guild. Fury of the Five Flights dropped. Since it was one of the best trinkets for any melee and ranged dps at the time, many people rolled on it, myself included. As the rolls were winding down, I was winning with a roll of 98. The loot master called for last rolls. Now, there was one hunter that hadn't rolled yet because he already had two trinkets from naxx and wasn't sure if it was an upgrade or not. After a moment, he said "the hell with it", and rolled. He got a 99. He got the trinket even though I still had two green trinkets at the time.

Needless to say, I wanted to reach through my monitor and wring his (and the loot master's) neck... User Image

the Turning Tide.

I rolled a 59. He rolled a 56. He was the Master Looter. Go figure.

Was in a Scholomance 10 man group on my rogue (Long time ago <_<) once, and there was another rogue that was also a known gold farmer (Don't ask. No idea how she got in the group.), and we get to the end...

Shadowcraft cap and Tombstone breastplate. I already have the breastplate, but it's the first time I ever saw the cap drop. The breastplate would have been a much better upgrade for the other rogue, so I ask if it's okay if she takes that and lets me have the cap.

Considering she never said a word the entire run, clearly I was giving her too much credit. So of course she rolls need on the cap, as do I. She wins, hearths, and leaves the party without having said a single thing.

I mean, sure, she's entitled to it as much as I am, but I was trying to reason, so it was still pretty frustrating. Never did get that cap.

After a million runs tanking Heroic UP, Red Sword of Courage drops. And a hunter rolls for it with me. They said they needed the +hit bonus.

It took me a while for that sword to drop again to obtain it.

Didn't happen to me, but I was there to witness it and LOLed hard.

Sarth 10m normal, me, another holy priest and a holy pally was healing.

* Majestic Dragon Figurine
* Binds when picked up
* Unique
* Trinket
* Requires Level 80
* Equip: Each time you cast a spell you gain 18 Spirit for the next 10 sec., stacking up to 10 times.

dropped. Since I had it (and better ones from 25 naxx) I passed, the holy priest went yay and needed it. And so did the Holy pally, who won it. LMAO.

Then she was complaining abt it for a while to me, while I told my guild abt it and had a good LOL for a bit smile

That has actually happened to me so many times to the point of when I need something (not naxx) I don't go with anyone who could use it or would end up needing it, as far as naxx goes I don't plan ahead when something I want comes up I don't put to much care into it unless I win. I was after the war mace for unrequited love in nexus and I kept having to tell this priest he couldn't come with us. I wont take the chance especially if my guild has been helping me get it.

I remember rolling a 90 ish on the trinket from Sarth. I thought I would finally win the damn thing until a warrior rolled a 98. The master looter gave it to him not knowing he was a warrior. ;-;

Haha! I tanked for over 10 Timed CoS groups.
Each time the bronze drake dropped, and each time I ROLLED CRAP! And this was against one other person most of the time. I had letters imprinted into my forehead from the continuous spaming of KeyboardFaceSlam skill over the week.

But I finally got it. Yay!!!
