Oh look, ANOTHER thread recycle!
I mean, now that HG/SS are out and have been thoroughly dissected, with their coding laid bare for all to see, I'm turning this thread into a general discussion about HG/SS. Or whatever, as long as it relates to HG/SS in some manner. Don't be afraid to go off-topic, just make sure to get back on track eventually.Original Post Okay, now that we all know that HG/SS is coming, I'm tweaking this thread a tad.
There's a lot of small details about HG/SS that, while worth mentioning, are too minuscule to make a Daily Catch post out of. These are rumors, speculations, disappointing Pokémon Sunday episodes, and whatnot, so when I come across such tibits, I'll just post them here!
Feel free to post your own tidbits here, too. :3Original-Original Post Hey guys. I have BIG news that's SO BIG, hiding it away in the Daily Catch would be a crime!
But, according to Bulbapedia, a new "major [and] popularly-discussed" Pokémon game will be announced later this month, the first details of which to be announced on the May 10th airing of the popular Pokémon variety show Pokémon Sunday. Further information is speculated to be enclosed in the next issues of CoroCoro and Nintendo Dream, which go on sale after the big Pokémon Sunday episode. Full article can be found here.
So I ask, my fellow Pokénerds, what do you think this new game(s) will be? Is the 5th gen finally at our doorstep, after being long overdue? Or is this possibly the one pair of games 90% of the fandom practically gets off to every night? Is this possibly... Gold and Silver remakes?!
The not-really-secret GSC fangirl in me hopes to high heavens that it is.
Taking bets now!

I hope it is.
Regardless of me preferring RBY, GSC really was the pinnacle of the Pokémon franchise. It featured a clock for the first time, events on different days, and other such revolutions that were unheard of at such an early time in handheld gaming. Not to mention the interoperability with the N64 and Stadium 2, something which should be effing forced down our throats by now from such a money-hungry company. But you, Alexa, of all people, should know this.
JPNCrystal. HurhurIsrslythoughtitwouldwork.
And with it getting to the point of guides being readily available to replace the battery on the GSC cartridges, it's obvious there is a following. Couple that with the average Pokemon fan that got into the fandom through GSC being 17-19 now, it's a prime time to release them.
EDITITS:
This was the set when the announcement was made. I see gold, and I see silver. Was it life I've betrayed for the shape that I'm in? It's not hard to fail. It's not easy to win.

I didn't get platinum; I will be unlikely to in the future.
But I've said before and I will say again I would spring for a GS remake in a HEARTBEAT. GS had quite a few of my personal favorite pokemon's debuts, such as Corsola--which you could catch in the daycare center's pool, of all places. It also had some of the best trainer use I've ever seen, a guaranteed shiny Gyarados--which might be neat to see, since they're no longer red--Lance adventures, which would be AWESOME to do as a tag-team, and the best line in any pokemon game ever.

My surprisingly-still-alive Lance fangirl in me agrees wholeheartedly. xDDD I think I would spasm to do double battle with him like we could with Steven in DP. @[Kaecyus-Drake]: I DON'T SEE THE SILVER. Unless it's the gray in the background? XDD; *has lowest brightness setting possible on her computer so it can last an hour off the charger* Damn, if only I were fluent in Japanese rather than learning, I'd YouTube the thingy/episode/etc and see if I could translate. CURSE MY INABILITY TO STUDY!

Given the mounting evidence in recent years and as of late, in my opinion I think that it is VERY likely that we will be getting GS remakes. This November is the tenth anniversary of the release of Gold and Silver, and if Nintendo announced the games now (around this time is also generally the traditional time for them to announce new games), they'd have sufficient time to hype up the remakes like a Pokémon game has never been hyped before.
Not only that, but what other game(s) could be described as "major" and "much discussed"? I always said GS remakes were not a matter of "if", but merely a matter of "when".
Edit: And for anyone wanting to watch the Pokémon Sunday teaser, here it is.

Those easels apparently hold pictures of what the announcement will be about. A gold picture, and a silver picture.

Well, I was gonna reply to you, Melody, but I'll just leave these here instead:
Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver. Sources: Pokémon.co.jp and Yahoo.co.jp.
