I don't know how to put this but what Instrument Stereotypes have you heard or think. Like when you think of a person who plays Clarinet or Flute or Sax or Tuba what do you or someone not in band imagine the person?
Like I usually imagine a person who plays Tuba is a big white guy with a beard. =O No offense to those who don't look like that and play Tuba. Which reminds me of that time where I saw some short, skinny, Aisan girl who looked like she was wearing make up on playing Tuba during a performance O.o

I've heard people say that male flute players are gay, which frankly, I don't get. As a matter of fact, I am one.

Sadly, I know that percussionists tend to be cocky. Which sucks, because I'm a percussionist. Then there's that lots of tuba players are really tall people. O_O Clarinets tend to be smart...

this made me laugh I found it online
Conductor: leaps tall buildings in a single bound is more powerful than a locomotive is faster than a speeding bullet walks on water gives policy to a god
Percussionist: falls over the doorstep when trying to enter buildings says "look at the choo-choo" wets himself with a water pistol plays in mud puddles loses arguments with himself
Saxophone Player: runs into buildings recognizes locomotives 2 times out of 3 is not issued any ammunition can stay afloat with a life jacket talks to walls, argues with himself
Clarinet Player: Too afraid too jump building because of their reed Works in locomotives too busy with reed for gun throws reed into water thinks reed is a god
Trombone Player: leaps short buildings in a single bound is more powerful than a switch engine is just as fast as a speeding bullet walks on water if sea is calm talks with a god
Flute Player: barely clears a Quonset hut loses tug-of-war with locomotive can fire a speeding bullet swims well is occasionally addressed by a god
Oboe Player: leaps short buildings with a running start and favorable winds is almost as powerful as a switch engine is almost as fast as a speeding bullet walks on water in an indoor swimming pool talks to a god if special request is approved
Bassoon Player: makes marks on the wall when trying to clear short buildings is run over by a locomotive can sometimes handle a gun without inflicting self-injury dog-paddles talks to animals
Trumpet Player: argues with building when it won't get out of the way sleeps in locomotive claims it's too easy to catch bullets in teeth explaining why he really can't saves water to drink after every triple C thinks he's a god.
Horn Player: lifts buildings and walks under them kicks locomotives off the tracks catches speeding bullets in teeth and eats them freezes water with a single glance is a god

Flutes are wimps. ^ Not true! (Even though some of them ARE and just do it for PE credit... -___-X)
I know some flutes that are really hard working and I know how hard it is to do the flute angle - I've tried and it's harddd! x-x And some people just assume that because the flutes don't get the angle right, they're weaklings D:
Oh yeah and people stereotype my section (baritones) as lazybutts... Actually never mind we kind of are. Our senior got 7/11 for us during sectionals LOLL.

This is all my opinion.
Flute: Either uber-hot or just plain annoying. Clarinet: Emo girl or nerdy guy Saxophone: Weird or pimp French horn: Smart girl or skater guy Oboe: Asian kid. Trumpet: Really smart guy or girl who's just in band to get out of P.E. Trombone: Cool kids only. Baritone: Trombone players who like to play other instruments or a kid who has to write note names on the music Tuba: Emo kid or former trombone player. Percussionist: Either really cool or a pothead.

Haha no offense to any tuba players but, I always noticed that alot of them are fat white guys who are super nice, quiet and a little nerdy. At least they've always been that way in my band.
And I play alto sax, and I've always noticed that sax players are pretty weird, and always pranksters. haha. At least in my band we are.

i always hear of saying that the clarinet section is usually loud and obnoxious in my band, the clarinet section is pretty quiet and normal in marching band though, when I'M in the clarinet section...... hahaha not so quiet
most stereotypes about my section that i've heard aren't all the true in my case bass clarinets... quiet, calm, etc yeah right
