Welcome to Emania!

Hello and welcome to our Roleplay Guild.
Like any new guild, things can get a little confusing for newcomers, and because it is a Multiplayer Roleplay World guild, you will find an awful lot of details in your travels.
But don't worry, you don't have to read it all! lol
The important thing is that you have fun. If you have any question, Pm one of our friendly mods.

Topics on the main page act as little mini Encyclopedias that keep all the roleplay information you could ever need neatly organised for you to find them.

At the 1st post of each topic, you'll see a contents page, which makes navigation easy.
To get straight to the info you need why not use ctrl+F to find the topic?
Simple as that.

#2 ~ Guild Rules & helpful tips for roleplayers

The Rules of Emania

Welcome to the land of Emania! Please read the guild rules and guidelines before you start smile thankyou!


1) Follow the Gaia Terms Of Service
You can find them here - breaking these will mean getting banned, and none of us want that.

2) Be Respectful
No one likes to be abused or picked on, and no-one likes a potty-mouth n00b either. Hopefully we can strike a balance. Please treat other members with respect - they deserve it. Remember the age old adages? “Treat others as you would like to be treated yourself”.
Those who ignore this rule will be warned and it could result in a banning.
Yes, I know you probably had a bad day and needed to vent off some steam, but do that by hacking away at fake-monsters, NOT at other guild members.

3) Do not deceive Guild members
This applies to all scams - be it donations/cheats etc, or just plain old lying. It is not acceptable.
Depending on the seriousness of the situation, warnings and/or bannings will be given.

4) Please keep spamming to a minimum, and only in the correct place, if so.
Spam can really skrew up a decent message board. While we all know that gold is easy to get via spams, that’s not much of an excuse. If you want to spam, then please create a spamming topic in the main forum. All spam should go there and nowhere else, please.

5) Please keep all OoC [Out of Character] posts in the main forum
This guild isn’t just for rping in the Emania-universe (although that is it’s main function) - I also hope that we can enjoy spending time with each other and have a good old chat about anything and everything. Just please keep these types of posts in the main forum, so that they don’t clutter up the rping subforums.

6) When creating character, please make at least one ‘inexperienced’ character
The idea of this guild (aside from a cool fantasy rping environment) is the notion of building up a character over time via various quests/monster fights etc. Therefore, I ask that you have at least one character who starts out with basic stats.

7) All rp characters above the ‘inexperienced’ level, should be checked with the guild admin.
This is because they need a little more management than inexperienced characters, esp in order to make sure we have no ‘godlike’ characters springing up. Please PM me your sheet (and I can also give a bit of advice if needed).

cool The Admin’s word is law. The mods must be obeyed.
Ok, it sounds a bit grim, this one - but it’s the basic way of keeping things running smoothly. If we ask you to do something, please do it. Of course we’ll listen to your opinions (and probably change our minds etc etc) - but please respect these people’s authority when they ask you to do something, and treat them (and your other guild members) with respect.

9)Dead Roleplay posts will be cleaned out - please don't revive them if they're v dead.
Baiscally, once an area is done with (and ALL the people from it have moved onto another area) it will be considerd 'dead' and cleaned out. A post will repace it, describing what went on there.
In general in the rp forum and the oc form, pelase don't revive dead posts that have been dead for 4 or 5 fornt-view pages.

Things to Remember When Roleplaying

All we ask is that you play nice, try to be literate, and keep ooc posts in brackets.



1) OoC messages/posts within the rps must be in brackets.
If you do want to give a quick message etc to members you rp with within an rp, make sure that all of your Ooc posts within brackets like [this] {this} or (this).

2) Do not Godmode. Keep your character actions within his stats.
Stats and dice-rolls are there for a reason. Please follow their restraints. Also remember: not every attack will hit- even Bruce Lee gets kicked in the face once in a while :p

3) One character cannot be in two Main Roleplay places at once. However, Minor quests, shops and games are the exceptions to this rule.
As you’ll see, there are many different places your characters can visit. However please keep each character in only one place at a time. And also please pay attention to where your character must pass through in order to reach another land (eg you must go to the cliffs before you can travel to another land).
If you and/or your group/rp buddies want to leave one place and move to another, please make an Oc post in Bold stating this in the rp area you’re in. Then you’re free to move to another place smile

However, you are allowed to rp simultaneously in minor quests, shops and games. Once finsihed in these areas - the results of what took palce there can be applied to the main roleplay (however you desire).
eg Argor's beats hunt is a MINOR Quest/Game. But a Quest to kill a boss monster is a MAJOR Quest (and therefore you must leave your currnet place of rp to take part in it).


4) No killing a character without both people’s permission.
This is a BIG no-no. Minor character you can kill, proper ones you can’t . if they give you permission to then please do so, but send a pm to the admin/mods to let them know too.

5) Please try to be literate
Post a bit like you’re writing a story.

6) Please avoid Fan characters, mary/Gary-sues and emo-sues.
This is not a fan rp. While indeed races and places have been borrowed from such creations as dungeons and dragons, lord of the rings etc, that’s not excuse to have Legolas or Naruto running around like a blummin’ lunatic and annoying everyone. Original characters only, please.
Mary/gary Sues are perfect in every way- stunningly beautiful, incredibly talented and oh-so-popular. Please please please try to be more original. Everyone has faults, even elven princesses...
And finally, the Emo-Sue, the Mary-sue’s depressing but still oh-so-annoying cousin! These guys have had it rough their whole lives. Their village was destroyed, their families murdered, they lost their memory and are fighting for revenge, they want to be loved but all the girls hate them because they’re not popular but BY GOD they’re handsome and incredibly powerful-with-untapped-kitsune-powers at least! Not that anyone notices... they’re ½ elf ½ demon ½ human ½ goddess and it’s oh-so-hard*continued to whine*
Yup boys and girls- that was the emo-sue. Admittedly better than the mary sue, but still pretty darn unoriginal. All i’m asking is that you don’t fall into the stereotypes if at all possible ^_~

#3 ~ How to Get Started & FAQ

How to Get Started

Emania is a self-contained world-roleplay, which means that it has many areas for your character to discover and travel through. If you've ever played any tabletop RP games then you should see a lot of similarities, but also it is structured like many internet rps you might look at on the Gaia forums.

For an extensive guide, check out B10's 'RPG Guide- everything you need to know'...or you could dive right in!

The basic aim of Emania is for you to create a character, and through your adventure shave it 'level up' and become stronger and stronger, and explore further and further afield.

First, you need a character - Fill out a character sheet and assign them some stat points so we get a feel for their fighting style. You get 18 stat points as a newbie.
If you want to play as something other than human, you often get advantages or disadvantages in battle - why not check out the Race/species guide?

Once you've posted up your character sheet (or pm'd it to me) you're ready to go!

Your first stop as a newbie will be Ash Coast~the town center--> 'the legless horseman' Tavern

Helpful Hint: You want to get stronger, right? You're first stop, once you've got introduced and comfortable should be to seek out one of our level 1 instructors. You can train as a Madge,Cleric,Warrior or Rouge

Q: What's the point of this Guild?
A: For the most part, simply to have fun.

Q: How do you make an RPG-type guild?
A: elementary, my dear watson. As you can see from the main forum, we have several topics, ranging from currency to monsters. Everything that you would see in an RPG, you will find here, but more in a written story-like fashion.

Q: Where do I start?
A: You start Ash Town, for the most part. Look for the "Legless Horseman," and start there. If required, you may start in another town, but you might want to PM a Mod. or the Admin. for this.

Q: What if I want to go somewhere else?
A: This has been explained before. When you wish to leave an area, you simply put up in [brackets] where you are going. If you are going long distance, you must consider what is in between. You will have to travel across and/or through those places, unfortunate, but it does make it more realistic. Really, you're character can't be superman. Besides, unoriginal characters aren't allowed

Q: Someone is not following the rules. What do I do? A: Report them, by all means, and quickly! There's a good chance someone would already, but if not, it would be then or never. People who break the rules and get away with it are what will ruin the fun, therefore they must be reported and properly punished. You might get a reward if you do, for the sake of honesty. ^^

Q: I didn't do anything wrong, and someone reported me. Why?
A: Perhaps you did something wrong and you didn't realize it. That's ok, as long as you realize you made a mistake. If you can find your mistake and correct, do so. If you still can't find it, ask someone, especially the one who reported you. If you know what you did was wrong, however, don't take it out on us; it was your own doing.

Personalised Character Banners

Here are some banners which show off your character stats. Just ask fi you woudl like one maing for you smile

This is a banner you can put as a signature, like all banners. With updates, it will tell you your character's stats, as well as advertize Emania. This is an example of mine. I simply use the stats I have in the character sheet topic, and abbreviated the stat names and placed numbers.

I realized while doing this that small numbers, like 2s and 3s, didn't seem right. add a 0 to the end thoguh...it makes more sense. Monsters and pets will be similar. This also means we might have to adjust how much damage a monster or pet can do, but not by much.

If you want one, I'll take commisions. 50 gold, plus 5 gold for every change. Hey, that's cheap folks, but that's because I'm an idiot for pricing. whee It saves you the trouble of making your own, though, and for updating it.

I need a tektek of your character, and if you prefer a certain font, state this as well. Stats I can get from the sheets, untill they need to be updated.

These do not tell you, however, equipment that you have. If you want it too, tell me, and I can arrange something.

As the guild is essentially based upon many subforums, and hopes to offer decent prizes for contests, money is always appreciated.
However you're in no way obliged to donate.
If you fancy donating, plase use the guild mule Emania_mule, or send the item to one of the moderators with a note telling them of your donation.

Character Tektek Gallery
Tekteks of your rp characters are often used as a quic way of showing what they look like, and many tektek contests have been held centred around them. If you want a 'base' or the various outfits of your tekteks keeping safe, just post and we'll put them up here for you to use whenever you need them.
Also serves as a great referance for fan art ^_~

Current Absences

Are you going to be away from the guild or gaia for a while?
Why not post here and let your guildmates know. You can also give instruction as to what can be done with your character, or recieve summaries of what's happened while you've been away. wink
