"Come on, you are so slow!" Feliks complained, practically dancing in impatience.
Seriously, what was his deal? Feliks couldn't even begin to get how Toris could possibly be so incredibly, ridiculously slow. No matter where, or when, or what, Feliks felt like he always had to wait for forever for Toris. It was ridiculous. Absolutely insane. Nuts. Bonkers. Bananas. Etcetera. Feliks was so bored, thinking up things that made the same thing was actually kind of vaguely entertaining him. It was pathetic!
And it wasn't like Toris had any excuse this time. It was flat ground. Completely flat. Flat and booooooriiiiiiiing. He didn't even know why they were there. Nothing to see or do or anything. You could sit, or walk. And that was it. It was the most boring thing Feliks had ever seen in his life. It was probably the most boring thing to ever exist, ever!
And because the entire land was being boring, and because Toris was slow, Feliks was way bored. And a bored Feliks was never, never, ever a good thing. Ever. Toris inwardly sighed. Every day, he asked himself why he still put up with Feliks. Every day, the answer was still the same. 'Because he had no other choice.'
He really could not understand where Feliks was managing to get all his energy from. There had been that one time, with the humans, and their weird, brown stuff he thought was called coffee, after which, he had vowed never again. There had been a reason for the extra hyperactivity then.
But on a daily basis, day in, day out, night in, night out?
Toris just could not understand it, until he realized it must be the same reason why the birds moved every summer and winter, why the sun came up and down every day: because it was just in their nature.
However, that realization still didn't help make Feliks any more bearable.
It would be nice to get a break from him, really, even just for a day...

Vixen bounded across the plain, bells jingling merrily. She had gotten extremely bored a few days ago and decided to go for a run. She hasn't stopped since. In a sudden bout of joy at the freedom of running, she kicked up her feet and tossed her antlers.
A couple of hours into this new day's run, she spotted two male modifoxes wandering about the plains as well. One was red and white, the other extremely brightly colored in red, yellow, and green. Vixen hesitated a bit, well aware of her odd appearance, but forged on anyway. It would be fun to meet new modis.

Skype rolled her eyes as Nausika trotted up ahead of her. The girl was actually humming. What was wrong with her? Honestly? What had gone wrong in her genetic coding? Was Marina more messed up than she'd let on? Or maybe it was her messed up mate, Caspian.
Snorting to herself, Skype continued along the path, a few feet behind the green and black vixen, who had started singing bits and pieces of songs.
Marina so owed her for watching her rugrat...
Skype almost ran straight into Sika as she came skidding to a halt.
"What?" She asked irritably, following her younger niece's gaze. That was when she saw them - two male foxes, one white and red, and one very, very bright yellow, green and red. Uh oh. It had been drilled into her brain that the only good fox was one she could fight against, so Skype stepped in front of her sister and opened her mouth to call out to them, only to be interrupted by Sika.

Oy, what was Auntie Skype's problem?
"Hi, boys!" Nausika called, dancing easily around the stunned female. "I'm Nausika, what're your names?" She grinned widely at the two of them as she got closer. She swished her tail behind her happily and let her emerald eyes move between them. In some dull part of her brain, she recognized that this might not be the brightest thing to do, that Skype might be right, but she didn't care. They might be able to be her friends! And there were so few happy people on Bateau...it was dang depressing.
"That's my Auntie Skype. She's a little cranky," She whispered conspiratorially to them, a wicked glint in her eye. "And she's kinda mean, watch out,"
((I just flubbed their locations. XD))

Feliks nearly jumped when he noticed two new modis coming out of the tall grass.
This was awesome! New people, and one of them might even be interesting! Geeze, why did he even stick around boring Toris anyway?
Oh, yeah, 'cause he was useful. He could find things, and stuff.
But still, did all useful people have to be so boring?
"I'm Feliks! And that lame slow guy aaaaaaall the way back there is Toris. Don't mind him. He's as boring as this boring plain. The most boring thing to ever boring ever!"
Feliks looked at Skype when Nausika pointed at her. Yeah, she definitely looked cranky all right.
"Well, if she's cranky, then we've gotta cheer her up!" Feliks hissed back, vague plans already tumbling through his head.
Toris rolled his eyes at Feliks' comment about 'all the way back there'. It was a difference of just two metres. But that was Feliks, always over-exaggerating things.
He'd heard Feliks already introduce the both of them, so he simply greeted Nausika with a simple "hello", before turning his attention to Feliks. He recognized that look all to well, and he knew that it meant nothing but trouble for everyone involved in whatever was going through the bi-colored modi's head.

"Oooh, you're right!" Nausika hissed back, grinning wider as she glanced at Skype over her shoulder. "She needs to be cheered up or she's gonna get her frown stuck on her face forevers, and that's a baaaad thing," Sika said, nodding vigerously. "What should we do? I tried tackling her earlier but that just made it worse..."
Not to mention that Mama had told her not to be mean to Auntie Skype...Oh, well! It wasn't like Skype would actually tell on her, would she? After all, they were related...
Which is probably why she'd tell on her, the rational side argued back.
Oh, who cares!
Shaking her head lightly to clear it, Sika continued, "You can call me Sika, by the way, 'cause nobody calls me Nausika but the grownups when they're mad at me. And Nadia, my sister, but she's a grump like Skype,"
"I am not a grump," Skype said with a snort as she joined her niece, still wary and over cautious about the two males. While the bright one seemed to be moderately calmer...That might not be a good thing...
"And I know that look, Nausika--"
"See?"
"And whatever you're planning, you'd better stop planning it right now!" Skype finished, talking over Nausika as she tried to worm her way out of admitting that she'd been up to anything at all. "We're supposed to be giving your mother a day off, not a heart attack," Skype added, rolling her eyes.
Why oh why had she volunteered for this again? Oh, right. She hadn't volunteered. Marina had volunteered her, somethign about getting to know her family better. Skype still thought that she could know her family perfectly well from a safe distance, but...
"Hello," She greeted the males somewhat tiredly, still protectively close to Nausika. "I'm Skype, as my niece said. It's...nice to meet you both," Skype said, not used to dealing with other foxes at all, really.
"Awww, see! She's being nice to you!" Nausika said with a giggle, shaking her head at her aunt. "That's so sweeeet!"
"Shut up."

By the time Vixen reached the two males, two more foxes had joined them, though these ones were female. They were both very pretty, she noticed. Summoning up her courage, Vixen stepped closer, bells tinkling like fairies around her.
"Hello. My name is Vixen." She said shifting her weight nervously.

'Mmm...?' Rajasi's ear flicked in the direction of the other foxes' voices. Five, maybe? She half-opened her eyes. "Nap time is over already...?" she mumbled to herself, yawning.
'They must not have noticed me here yet...' None of the foxes' backs were to her, as she was a ways to their side. She stood and stretched her wings, yawning again. 'They look kinda young...' She was momentarily tempted to glide in and perhaps give them a scare, but she thought better of it.
"Out on an adventure, kids?" she asked rather politely, walking up to the group.

"Hi!" Nausika said, completely distracted from her plottings, to the reindeer modifox who joined their little group. "Vixen? That's a cool name! I'm Nausika, and this is my Auntie Skype!" She giggled and nudged Skype playfully, laughing as Skype humphed and readjusted her weight.
"And this is Feliks and Toris," She added, smiling at the two males. "Aren't they pretty?"
Oh, Dieties above!
"Hello," She said shortly to the new girl, glowering at Nausika (who remained oblivious to the fact that she was being glowered at). Did she have no self-preservation instinct at all? Didn't they have bad things on that stupid little island to teach her that not all things were good?
Apparently not, Skype thought to herself with a sigh, shaking her head. She would have to talk to Marina about making sure her daughter didn't get herself killed one day.
"Woah," was Nausika's dignified response as the Modideava came over and started speaking. Sika'd never seen a Modifox with wings before! That was SO cool! Aunty Ricky talked about flying sometimes...
"Can you grow wings if you try real hard?" Nausika blurted out, fixing the female with a piercing look. Wow, she was so much bigger than any other fox she'd ever seen...Except for Uncle Conny...Or was she bigger?
"You're pretty," She added, giving the 'Deava a smile. "My name's Nausika, but you can call me Sika. This is Skype, my Auntie,"
Could this get any worse, or any more dangerous?! As if it wasn't bad enough that they were outnumbered, there was a Modideava now?!
It was just. her. luck.
"Greetings," Skype said stiffly, fixing the 'Deava with a look that only either a hunter could fix on her prey, or a very overprotective aunt could fix on a stranger. "I wouldn't call it an adventure, per se, more of-"
"No, it's an adventure! You want to come with?"
Why did she even bother?

Rajasi blinked. "Last I checked, you couldn't grow them just by wanting to..." she answered slowly. She didn't quite know how to react to the bubbly and excited fox. The obvious awe in Skia's voice was also something she didn't know what to do with.
"I'm Rajasi..." she added, after hearing the pair's names. Skype's icy glare didn't do much other than reassure Rajasi that her decision to not scare the foxes was a smart one. 'She's almost scary...' she thought.
Skia's question snapped her attention back to the energetic little fox. "I..." she began, then paused for a moment. "Maaaybe." Her lips formed a very slight smile. 'This is going to be troublesome. But... maybe worthwhile.' she thought.

"Not even tackling worked on her?" Feliks hissed back. Wow, she was a really tough case!
But that was awesome! It meant that he'd have lots and lots of things to do, trying to cheer her up!
"Hi, nice to meet you too!" Feliks fairly bounced. It was nice to meet anyone after being stuck with no one but boring Toris for forever!
Toris didn't comment on the tackling, since it was harmless enough. He was sure he was going to have to intervene soon, though: Feliks more...unique plans never went well.
"Hello, it's a pleasure to make your acquaintance," Toris replied absentmindedly, his attention directed more towards Feliks, wondering how soon he would start up his usual...antics.
"It's cool that you're being nice and all, but isn't it better to be yourself?" Feliks asked, staring at Skype. There was no way a modi who looked like that could be as mean as 'Sika said!
But 'Sika was really nice, so there was no way she was lying!
So, instead of trying to figure out that particular paradox, Feliks decided he was going to be smart and solve it the easy way!
Toris sighed. He wasn't even sure what Feliks was trying to do with his 'be yourself' line, but he knew that it wasn't going to end well for them. If this was Skype being polite, he would rather not think about what mean looked like. He had seen enough mean foxes in his lifetime. He definitely did not want to see any more.
The question was, was there even any polite way to tell Ms. Skype that he did not agree with Feliks' point at all?
But before he could give much thought to that question, even more foxes came to join the group. Where are all of them coming from so suddenly? he wondered.
Neither of the newcomers looked like any fox he had seen before. One was tall, and with wings, and the other had a short tail, antlers, and some very unique mods.
But it seemed that Ms. Nausika was busy distracting all of the assembled, so Toris went back to thinking about how to save the both of them from the mean side of Ms. Skype.
"You can't just grow wings? That's so lame! What's flying like? Hey, since you're so big, maybe you could carry one of us, and let us see what it's like, too!
"And of course we're on an adventure! We're going to go see what's at the other side of this boooooooring old plain! Isn't that right, Toris?"
"Sure," he muttered, knowing by now that, no matter what Feliks said, it would be easier on him if he just agreed with whatever it was, and was done with it.

"Thank you, your name is very pretty too. It's nice to meet you, you too Miss Skype." Vixen greeted, smiling softly, though the one called Skype was quite...intimidating. "And yes, they are pretty, very bright markings. It's nice to meet you too." she continued, bowing her antlered head towards the males.
Just then a quite large modi, that looked just as strange looking as her, entered into their group. Viken had never seed a modi with wings before, so she studied the fox closely.
She heard several of the gathered foxes mention an adventure and her curiousity was piqued. "Oh? You're on an adventure? May I join?" She asked politely.

< Posting mostly so it doesn't get lost amongst the PRP's. >//< > 'Antlers, eh?' Rajasi though immediately upon seeing Vixen. 'Mods are getting a little weirder these days...' She put the thought at the back of her mind, where many things usually went and were lost.
She stretched out on the ground in a comfortable way and glanced around the group, doing a quick headcount. "Well, if there's going to be so many of you... it would be troublesome to have to keep track of you all." She sighed. "Adventures aren't really my thing anyway..."

"Course you can join! And you, with the wings! You should come with! The more the merrier and all that!" Feliks paused, and then tilted his head. "You aren't a fraidy-cat, are ya? Afraid of a little adventure's gonna hurt you? Oh, wow! I can't believe it! I finally found a fox that's even lamer than Toris! I didn't think that it was possible, but, it is! It actually is!"
By now, used to Feliks'...openness, the long suffering Toris didn't even bother to try refuting that. He was simply grateful that Feliks had been given a distraction that was less likely to end in catastrophe than attempting to cheer up Skype would.
"If Ms. Rajasi doesn't wish to come with, then she is free to do as she pleases. You can't stalk a fox with wings into submission, after all."
Completely missing the point, Feliks continued blithely on: "Then I'll find some other way! C'mon, you know it'd be awesome to have someone with wings who can scout things for us! I betcha she can sneak up on food way better than we can! With her around, we'll eat like kings!"
Toris sighed. There went Feliks with his crazy ideas yet again. He would leave it to Ms. Rajasi to point out the fact that she was still there. He didn't think Feliks heard half of what he said, anyway.

"Eat like kings?" Rajasi asked, mildly amused. "I seriously doubt that..." She sighed. "I have enough of a time hunting for myself." She could tell the yellow, red, and green fox had a hard time with this white and red one. "Though if you were to calm down and just, ah, chill for a while, you wouldn't need to eat as much..." She didn't quite know where that piece of advice just came from, but she knew it worked for her. 'More nap time...' she thought, mind wandering.

Adventures? Eat like kings? Stalk into submission?
What the hell is wrong with these people?
Sighing to herself, Skype shook her head lightly. "I don't think we really have the time for an adventure-"
"What do you mean we don't have time? All we were doing is walkin' around! 'Sides, Mama said you had to watch me, not boss me around, so you can watch me leave with my new friends, or you can come with," Nausika grinned impishly at her aunt, her smile cocky because she won, and she knew Skype knew it.
"So quit bein' a grump. You're bringing everybody down," Sika scolded lightly, her tail swishing behind her happily. It was clear she wasn't being brought down by her aunt's overly-cranky attitude.
Damn her and her valid points...
Shaking her head, Skype merely rolled her eyes. "I'm just here to make sure that you don't fall in a hole and break all your legs," She said, snorting at Sika's flippant shrug. "So do what you will."
Why do I sense I'm going to regret that...
"Yay! So, what should we do for our adventure?"
