A flash of movement caught the attention of one of the young men standing in the alley. A flicker, then gone, which led him to believe he was simply seeing things. Perhaps it was the wind? Or maybe a stray? Either way, it hadn't come after them and so was written off as nothing to worry about.

The blond teen glanced at his traveling companion, a characteristic smirk gracing his features. "C'mon, Al, let's figure out where we are and get directions home." A ride would be better, but Edward didn't even dare hope for that. He laced his fingers behind his head, glancing up at the sky briefly before switching his attention back to the narrow space they occupied. Just a few yards ahead the alley opened into what sounded like a main street. What better place to get your bearings?

Ed started off, trusting his brother to follow as always, and stepped out of the area they'd been dumped in by The Gate. The smirk faltered as he looked around, finally fading as the inherent strangeness of the area sunk in. The giant faces carved into the mountainside were a particular point of interest. "Al?" Golden eyes shining with a mixture of curiosity, worry, and confusion settled on the younger (but noticably taller) teen. "This doesn't look like home..."

A nod and a smile were the response to the suggestion of getting directions. He was almost proud of Ed, usually Al was the one thinking of the important things. "Brother?" The younger boy followed his sibling out of the alley, eyes a shade darker than the brilliant gold of Ed's scanned the immediate area. This didn't look like any town he'd ever seen before. It certainly didn't look like anything out of Amestris or even the areas they'd visited so many times before.

Being the more observant of the pair, Alphonse was able to side-step the falling child.

Edward, however, fell with a grunt...then a curse. Konohamaru's reflexive apology didn't even register in his mind. "Hey! Watch where you're going!" he struggled under the weight of the young boy, flailing arms and legs doing little to aid him in gaining freedom. The alchemist growled in annoyance as the girl appeared "Oh sure, he's fine. He had a nice soft stranger to break his fall. Get off me, kid!"

When the kid finally got up, Ed picked himself off the ground and went about brushing the dust from his front. "Yeah, whatever. Just be caref-" His eye twitched at the remark about his height and, predictably, the teen shouted at the top of his lungs. "WHO ARE YOU CALLING SO SMALL YOU WANNA SQUISH LIKE AN ANT!?"

Alphonse sighed, "Ed, calm down. They didn't say that." Ever the voice of reason.

The shorter of the pair's anger deflated quick enough, but left him scowling at the trio of children. "What the heck is this place, anyway? It's..." A glance at the engraved headbands and unusual clothing (the similarities between all three's leading him to believe it was a sort of uniform or something), and then the faces of the kids themselves."...weird."

Any other outburst he might have gone into was squashed by the appearance of yet another stranger. Even though the man did little to alleviate his confusion. Chakra? If you could climb trees with it, did that make it some sort of tool? Weird...and certainly nothing he'd ever heard of before that day.

Confusion aside, he still managed to smirk as the annoying kid was reprimanded. He hid the expression, however, when the man turned. "You could say that." Konoha? Didn't sound like a city in Amestris...maybe somewhere in Xing...Oh no. Edward prayed they hadn't been dropped all the way out there, that was such a long trip back home.

Alphonse sighed when it seemed his brother wasn't going to elaborate on their situation. "We kinda took a wrong turn somewhere. Um... Do you know how far it is to Central City, Amestris?" The idea that they could have been transported to yet another alternate universe hadn't yet occurred to the boys.

N-never heard of them? Not good, oh so not good! And what in the world was a 'hokage', anyway? He was used to Emperors, Fuhrers, and wannabe dictators, but a hokage? Even more weirdness. "Ho-ka-ge?" The shorter blond echoed with obvious confusion even while Ebisu threatened the kid. One hundred laps? And the kid was complaining? Wimp.

Then again, Edward had no idea just how big Konoha was.

He gave another smug little smirk when the brat apologized, "Yeah, you better be, squirt." A nudge to his side wiped the look off his face, he frowned lightly at his brother, then turned back to the kid and nodded. "Fine. Apology accepted."

It was Alphonse that realized they'd overlooked a certain, polite custom. He gave a little 'oh!' and tiny apologetic bow "We haven't introduced ourselves. I'm Alphonse and this is Edward," he gestured at his brother.

"Ed." He really only let certain people get away with using his whole name.

Al sighed lightly, not at all surprised, "We're the Elric brothers." The younger of the siblings straightened fully once more, giving Ebisu a polite smile "It would be very nice if we could meet your Lady Tsunade."
