Greetings, everyone! My friend and I just brought together an idea for a new roleplay, called San francisco Rush, and we're looking for literate recruits! It is mostly futuristic and neo-western (think GunSword or Cowboy Bebop, if you have to) with steampunk and cyborg elements!
To check it out, no strings attatched, click the below link!
Your time is greatly appreciated, thank you!

I must say, this doesn't exactly seem to be the target audience for "Mostly Futuristic".
In fact I might go so far as to say that describing something as "mostly futuristic with steampunk elements" is rather similar to describing something as "mostly benevolent with homicidal elements". The two concepts seem to be at odds, do they not?
Although the idea of a steam-driven spacecraft does intrigue me... but how would it apply its motive force? There is no road in space for a wheel to grip, no air for a propeller to beat, no water for a screw to churn.
On the other hand, the release of the steam itself might be sufficient to maneuver. You'd need a mighty Verne-esque cannon to reach escape velocity first, and re-entry would be like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're going to get, but chances are you'll regret trying it.

The main hurdles are reaching escape velocity and surviving reentry. With steam tech, we're talking some heavy-duty construction.
I'm envisioning a multi-stage cannon for the first part. A long Verne-esque subterranean barrel with charges along its length to add multiple thrusts to the craft.

On a note like this, I recommend a slightly cyberpunk, very big RP, which Anachronism has been invited to take part in. It's called TranCity. http://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds/?guild_id=207227Join if you want! I thought a few of you would like to make a Steampunk planet or spacecraft and... well have fun! If you do join, invite your friends.
