That's just messed up. They're kids. They're not supposed to know any better, and toddlers are usually more sensitive to spicy foods than older people. Britain, huh? Dang. They need to stop worrying about being called racist. Everyone's a little bit racist. You're not going to be able to stop a kid from acting like that. And there's really nothing you can do to punish them for thinking like that. They're just being kids. They don't know any better.

*nods* I wasn't picky before, but I'm turbo picky now. Racism to me is just one big joke. I honestly can't see how people can get so serious about that kind of stuff. And yeah, from Britain. ....I read the title and thought "oh great, we had US scientists do studies on long cords ("the longer cords are and closer together totally have higher chances of tangling together"), and how NASA is using rubber ducks to see if glaciar water is melting off into the ocean. I guess the UK saw our mavalous work and wanted their turn at stupid study =

Has society honestly become so defensive that people are willing to call a picky eater a racist? I think a few people, especially within the media need to be "re-educated" on what true racism is...

Yes. Yes it has. But this isn't just the media, it's also the RESEARCHERS. They are the ones who honk the racist horn and think "Hmmm, that kid doesn't like food not based on his culture, he MUST be a racist". Never mind the fact most forien foods can just look/smell really, really icky.

They did the test on toddlers?!!! I have a toddler! Half the time, she hates hot dogs, mac & cheese, and pb&j! Never mind foods from other countries... Wow, for being "scientists" those people sure are idiots... I mean, I don't like Chinese food. I guess that automatically makes me a racist... O.o;;
Does the fact that I say "Come on, people" while driving imply racism too? When did "those people" become a racist term? You could be talking about a group of your own color of people standing across the room. I always thought "those" was a term for identifying objects in relation to one's self. (Those people across the room, as apposed to these people standing next to me.) My daughter says "Hey, kids" when she joins a group of children in play. When do you think "kids" will be considered racist too (or at least, not PC)
As far as research studies go... I'm still waiting for the one that announces that oxygen causes cancer... stare Anyone else want to move to a new planet? stare

KittyRedden I'm still waiting for the one that announces that oxygen causes cancer... Lawl. In California it might be. It seems whatever isn't on fire there, gives you cancer (I swear, everything gives you cancer there apparently).

Don't worry...It'll break off of the U.S. eventually, then we can get cancer from just about any other element imaginable.

Wait...I don't like Cajun food. So, who am I supposed hate? French people or black people? I also hate avocados and certain wasabi sauces. Who is supposed to get my hatred there? Kitty hates pasta sauce, are Italians supposed to receive her malice?
This just plain boggles the mind. I can't believe money was wasted on this.

Wow...that's just...sad. Do we really live in a time where we call children racist just because they're picky eaters. I don't like "soul food", so does that mean I'm going to be called racist? I lmao at comedians like Carlos Mencia, so does that mean I'm racist? It's all a matter of prefrence. > >

*nods* I guess so. And meh... Carlos Mencia makes fun of different races AND his own. (not a big fan of him, but I do think his stuff is better then Chris Rock's. ....how he tried to model his carrear off of Eddy Murphy and muck it up into a one trick pony I'll never know X/ ). Saddly, this kind of stuff is what most science research is D= Except for Japan. Those buggers come up with the neatest stuff...

Lawl, this kind of thing is what really deserves a good forehead slap. All people are picky eaters when they are children, they are hitting a stubborn phase. Wasting 12 million dollars on something as stupid as that, no wonder the world is going down the drain. confused P.S. Oxygen causes cancer! eek
