Prompt by Arctic Vixen, so direct all questions to her. ^^
Prompt
You are tired and hungry, stumbling along the outskirts of a Loki village. The life of a Rebel is difficult, and many times you must raid villages for food...as you are about to do. Eyes half-closed, you watch from the privacy of darkness, feeling your strength slip away with the setting sun. This area is small and doing rather poorly, security is low and food supply is even lower. It seems the Nobles have not 'smiled upon them', as if they even have that ability.

The Nobles have done absolutely nothing to help anyone, especially these people. Especially you. These Fafners use every bit of strength they have...and in the end, are left with nothing. Like you. But you chose your life, these creatures had no choice....

Your paws make little to no noise as you saunter in the shadows, plotting and planning your next move. Do you try to steal what little food they have, or does your conscience stop you? Do you help them? Do you reveal yourself and ask that they join you? Or do you just go on to another area.....if you can even make it there?

Post your response in this thread using the following form:

Fafners Wanted: skull, dino, ruby, sapphire

RP Response:

A Dark and Gloomy Terrible night is upon me, as I stumble across a barren waste-land, to a small village on the outskirts of the island, Loki Village. Neither food nor water have passed through my Dry and shriveled up mouth in days, barely able to move, half asleep or more so half dead, crawling and clinging to life as I watch the day end under the nearest tree. Looking toward Loki Village , Thinking to myself, ‘Just how long is that village going to last? I Know that the nobles have not imported supply’s here, And like they give a damn’

My thoughts being to scramble as my energy beings to leave me , my breath weakens and I have no desire to move , or more so I can’t . ‘Damn those Nobles’ I watch the village closely and see all these fefners who have to suffer just as I had to suffering . Nobles don’t seem to care any more there only after power. Pondering my next point of action I lurked in the shadows, My paws as silent and firm that you could hear a pin drop, my mind filling up with useless emotions , I should just take care of myself , ‘Raid the village, show them what suffering truly means’. My already weak and injured body couldn’t withstand an attack if they were to rebel against me. ‘No, I should help them .’ I slowly Creep forwards, not being able to turn away, the next village isn’t for days, I wont make it.

Plucking up the courage I leap heavily with the last ounce f my strength and head held high . I roared loudly “ JOIN ME , You have lived for far to long like this, it is time To get our home and lad back from the nobles . What happened to the fefner’s pride and strength . do you have it still ? fight . join…. me….” in the middle of the village I collapse, my sore pounding legs can take the pressure my body is giving them . my mouth so parched I lost my voice as I began … to … fall … unconscious…….

Everything was pitch black , no noise, no sound , no sight . Just Black.

Fafners Wanted: Dino, skull, ruby, sapphire

RP Response:

Like the sand upon which my paws had tread countless footprints into, my throat was parched. Every swallow brought severe pain, my eyes tearing as the feeling not unlike a cactus being stuck down your throat hit me. This village, if you could even call it that, had rare water sources. I was appalled at the state of the surrounding area. If I hadn't seen the numerous Fafners going about their pathetic daily lives, which I had, I'd have thought it a ghost town.

My eyes but bloody slits, I observed them, how little they had. Food was scarce, families were cramped together. They would be almost too easy to take down. If only my own ribs weren't protruding farther than was considered "normal". I have committed far worse crimes than this, if this was going to stop me I might as well throw myself into a lake. Assuming I'd find one, that is. Aside from the scant wells plotted in a few locations, water gain looked just about impossible.

I tried snarling. I failed. My "snarl" came out in a choked gasp and I crumbled down to my knees. I looked up at the setting sun. And to think that another day I would find this view magnificent. The pale reds were a shade too bloody, the yellows resembling vibrant shades of the eyes that had watched me, pained, terrified as I raided their homes. I shook my head, eyes squinted shut, to get the memories out. So many memories.

As I looked up, tears welling up in my eyes once more, the bright reds, oranges, and pinks now gone. I gazed up into a pair of yellow eyes. A nightmare, and I couldn't even move away, I couldn't run. My limbs, once so strong and graceful, now failed me. I couldn't take it anymore, my head bobbed down, my defeat now a vibrant shade of blue. Defeat. Sorrow. Regret. Perhaps this was all a nightmare?

Fafners Wanted: Ruby, Dino, Sapphire, Skull

RP Response: Pollo limped through the bushes, and moaned as his leg brushed against a thistle. His eyelids felt like lead and his paws felt like boulders, his every step dragging. He was tired, and he missed having a nice warm hut. He missed having a healer close by, willing to help. But he didn’t miss having to listen to the Nobles every whim. Pay their taxes and starve for their desires and wants as they sucked in his needs.
As he gathered into the outskirts, the fafners nodded at him, for he was an occasional visitor that they’ve . But Pollo’s guilt was sapping at his hunger. If he took too much, he would be just like the Nobles, taking from the needy. But the fafners here knew him, they knew of what he was trying to accomplish as he trudged around. He nodded at some of the fafners, the old and weak, the struggling families, and the young ones who were only too oblivious. Pollo knew they wanted the Nobles out, but fear drove them back into taxing and their huts, back to starvation and poverty. Pollo growled, those Nobles and their stupid chevaliers… They live off of what these people make for them; take what they please without looking back. Many times Pollo had tried to convince these people, but the spark never lit, there was not more fire in the eyes of these people.
He sighed and startted looking around, the suspicious glares get fewer and fewer each time he came. But sooner or later, these fafner will have no more to spare. But Pollo couldn’t take any risks when it came to getting foods. There were too many serious traditionalists in the larger towns. They would call the sentinels, or the chevaliers. But Pollo doubted the Nobles were oblivious, they couldn’t be that dumb, just cruel. But besides the fact he didn’t want to be caught, he wanted to gather more supporters. This was the place; these people should hate the Nobles with a passion, candles waiting to be lit by the fire of anger, of rebellion. Pollo knew that it would only be a matter of time before the doubt and the disgust some of these fafners have in the Nobles will decay the trust and fear they have I them. Pollo took the furry mouse, nodded to the fafners for letting him take a piece of prey. Grief wet his eyes and his fur as he plodded away, still feeling the glares of suspicion, the stares of pity, and the wistful eyes of hope.

Fafners Wanted: Saphire, Ruby, Skull, Dino

This is also a first for me. Hope I did it right.
RP Response:

As I run to an cold, dark, empty alley in an effort to escape the clutches of the guards, I swallow the stolen fruit whole. I wish I had time to savor the taste as the others can, but it is impossible for me, a rebel, to have such an oppurtunity. In this world, while others had daily meals, and could play and laugh in happiness, we had to fight, steal, or eat unwanted leftovers, and when we laughed, it was almost always bitter, and often in response to hearing one saying the impossible.
I've lost the guards, so, finding a slashed up mattres which had been discarded some time ago, I curl up and attempt to keep warm using my body heat. Tears...I must be crying. I must be crying for the parents I never knew. I always wonder, what is it like, being in a warm, comfy room surrounded by family, eating and laughing and just being happy and carefree. I wonder-
What, something has my tail. Ah, I-I-I'm being dragged. Who is it? I want to turn my head, but I just can't. I...I...everything...is going...dark? What's...happeni-

Fafners Wanted: Dino, Ruby, Skull, Sapphire

RP Response: No food for weeks, it felt like. Little meat to hunt in this area, no doubt somehow connected to those blasted Nobles. The poor commoners within his sight seemed to share in his fortune and the state of these lands. To let a village of followers starve, was this the new ways of those Nobles, to simply turn the other way when their own tribes are suffering? Despicable, and more distasteful than the poor rotted meats he had been living off of in this area. Perhaps these commoners would listen to the voice of reason, the voice of their own plight, and join him on his way back to his brethren. No Nobles would care to stop them, if they were as ignorant as they seemed of this village's populace.

Carefully, silently he edged closer to the village waiting for a commoner who seemed as if they would be easily swayed to his speech to wander into sight, before approaching. "Peace sentinel, I am no more here to rob you, than the Nobles are to feed you." Ah, a reaction. Minute, but the narrowing of his audience's eyes answered all he needed to ask. "Tell me, how have the Nobles been answering you, surely you have asked for their help, for food?" Again, the minute response of a nearly silent grunt, and narrowing eyes as more of the village edged in closer. "If the choice were yours, would you turn your backs upon the Nobles as they have done to you, or would you remain here waiting in the hope that they will feel a pang in their hearts and send you aide?" A pause, silence was the only answer.

"As I thought. Then I stand here to give you that choice. You may join with me, on my journey back to the lands we Rebels have claimed, into the wilderness where no Noble laws can reach us, and where there is food to be hunted. You would be welcomed warmly into our numbers, your young looked after, your strong joining our hunting parties, food shared between every hungry mouth without a Noble claiming their shares first. You, and I, we are the same. Weak when we are alone, and in such small numbers. But out there, with our own kind, more Rebels, we are strong. What shall you say?" He sits, waiting silently for an answer as the eldest, and strongest of the village seem to speak over the consequences, and opportunities amongst themselves while the others look to them for the final decision. Yes, it didn't seem as if the choice was going to be against his favor..

Fafners Wanted: Ruby, Sapphire, Dino, Skull

RP Response: A simple...drooping of the head, as ruby eyes slid shut for a moment, the sweet embrace of darkness a minor comfort for a time. Even that, however couldn't not stave off the vicious snapping jaws of the beast within her gut. Hunger, her mind whispered as she scanned the dusty village. Hunger was consuming what was left of her soul, and hunger was no doubt consuming what was left that was meager village. How fitting it seemed, to prowl the darkness, and ignore the biting beast of hunger as she roamed and drew others to the cause and if need be…drew others to the edge of the abyss. The nobles were the cause of all this suffering! If not for them, everyone would have enough to eat, enough to feed their families and not have to resort to selling their children, or killing their neighbor all for the want of something to quell the beast inside.

No matter, such things would cease once this was all over. The nobles, the king, the queen, all of them. Gone. And the people would rule themselves just as they should. All this thinking however...was not helping the state of her stomach. Frowning as it grumbled and nipped at itself, she shook her head with a shuddering sigh. This would not do...This would not do at all. To steal from the poor to feed one's self...there used to be a day when her pride would have stopped her from stooping so low. That day however was long pass.

Flexing her claws lightly she stretched arching her back and beginning her slow trek through the growing shadows. If the only way to show these villagers that the nobles cared nothing for them was to force them to the tip of the abyss, then so be it. She was a rebel, an extension of Cerberus' will as were all the rebels who followed. If there were those who would follow the nobles even to the depths of the abyss, then by the gods, she'd help them along.

With that in mind, the red eyed fafner began her raid on what was left of the pitiful village's food stores. Maybe after all this, these commoners would either join their cause…or resign to the depths of the abyss.

Fafners Wanted: Dino, Skull, Ruby, Sapphire

RP Response: Dino arrived at the village. Truely, this was a desolate place. Nobles, what was so noble about them? Perhaps… Only perhaps, some times in the distant past were the rulers of noble soul and true to their people. Power always corrupts those weak of mind. In no way were they as they called their kind now. The true noble hearts were they, the rebels, the commoners who had no ill will in their hearts—but all suppressed by the blue bloods.
Dino looked out to the sad little village and saw… He saw himself really. The Fafner here were dying of hunger, while the royals’ tables were full of the goods they did nothing to earn, except be alive. What did they think themselves gods!? Who were they to oppress the defenseless?
Dino strode out with as much dignity as he could muster. Let the “nobles’” hearts tremble. They will hear of the passage of the Rebel, let them come to fear the word. But as he looked, he saw something peculiar. The oppressed were usually suppressed, feeling watched, afraid. These were not afraid.
They looked upon him with apprehension, but deep interest… And he looked back. They knew who he was, and they knew what they were. And they knew what they could be together. The children came near, followed by the adults. They were with him after all. Never in his life had he seen such fury, it was usually at him. On the brink of death, but very much alive. This was the fury of a many burdened Fafner, many suppressed souls.
They’d give their life to the cause in a heartbeat, but he wouldn’t ask them to do that. He’d ask them to wait. They could.
They’ve been waiting for him long. Here he was, salvation in their midst. They’d join to battle the tyrants, but it isn’t what they’re meant to do. No, not yet, not this time.
Dino smiled and sat down. But as he was about to speak, weakness overcame him. How embarrassing. he thought, he could not speak. There goes first impressions… The villagers looked upon the fallen Rebel. Out of pity and hope, they took him with as much care as they could muster and brought him into their humble home.

Fafners Wanted: Ruby, Sapphire, Dino, Skull

RP Response:

She lay there on the ground beneath a withered and dead bush, her breath shallow and her entire body weak from lack of food and water. For as far as the eye could see there was nothing but dead grass, bushes and trees. The ground was dried out and with every breath she let out, a small cloud of dust rose into the air and disappeared into the cloudless sky. There was a village rumored to be close by, but she couldn’t travel during the day; it was too risky with the sun beating down and with the Nobles having sent out a search party to get rid of Rebels like herself. ‘Disgusting scum of the Earth’ was what they were called, at least those that sided with the Nobles. There were others that understood and respected the Rebels though, and gave them shelter and protection even through times of great need such as now.

The sun finally found its way into the horizon and melted below the earth, staining the sky around it with reds, oranges and yellows. Feeling the air around her now cooling, she stood up and gathered the last of her strength, seeing the village farther ahead of her as the remainder of the twilight began to fade to dark. Painstakingly slow, she made her way through the desolate lands, praying for rain to break the dry spell that seemed to be endless and talking to herself in attempts to keep her from falling into an unconscious state that would definitely spell her death. Stumbling, mumbling and dragging herself, she crossed the plains, making it to the outskirts of the village after what had seemed like an eternity. A quick assessment of the shabby living and she realized that the Fafners here were under as much trouble as she and the Nobles were doing nothing to help.

The sky having now given fully to the darkness of night, she easily slithered her way through the deserted streets of the village, her eyes sharp and her ears perked as adrenalin began coursing through her. This was life or death now, and she could spare no mistakes. She felt guilty taking from the Fafners that lived here, but the world was equally cruel and in times of need it was the law of the jungle that creatures reverted back to; only those that were most willing to take chances and were most fit were allowed to survive. She’d learned that lesson far too often, seeing those that had been close to her dying of illness, famine, and by hand of those that demanded to be called ‘nobility’, and she had hardened her heart. To grow close to someone ran the risk of turning your back to them and feeling a blade run through it when you least expect it.

Finally, she found what she’d been seeking farther up ahead; it was a hut that was a little larger than the rest and she just knew it probably belonged to someone who had connections to the Nobles. She smirked and easily broke into the hut as silent as the soft whisper of a breeze across a lake, and began sniffing around for food, being cautious of everything and everywhere incase she needed to make a quick escape. Seeing the area that stored the house’s food, she grinned and bit back a chuckle as she slipped over to the goods. There was plenty of food here, at least more than probably any of the other villagers were going to see for a long while, and she quickly dug into the nourishment, taking her fill on food and drink. Less than an hour later she had left the village as easily as she’d come, leaving no sign of her presence other than the scraps of her meal.

Fafners Wanted: Dino, Skull, Sapphire & Ruby.

RP Response:

MY time seems short in the world, as I lay in the soft dirt under retreating sun. Ribs expand to fill my tired lungs with the dusty air around my nostrils. I lay here, so weak and so exposed, why hasn't anyone devoured my starving, meatless carcass. Twin Pillars lay plastered back against my skull, as a snarl reached my lips. This dirt does nothing for my fur. My tail lashed the ground beneath my little frame in a last effort to draw the strength out of me. Forelegs shook under my own weight, How long has it been since I last ate? Light tendrils of smoke rose up over the grass, disbursing into the night sky. Curious, and driven by hunger, Pads carried me to my destination.

It was a meek little place, none to my liking at all. My tail lashed across my backside, dust falling from my pelt onto the others below. I could hear their screams as they fell from me, like I was their savior, casting them away to their own death. Chuckle emitted from my inner'ds, it drew out into the night like a sweet sympathy of what was to come of this place. My eye darted to the edge of a window sill, just big enough to support my frame. Hindquarters expelled me to the ledge, the energy I was lacking made my ascendant quite wonky. I recovered and peered into the building.

Bread? Bread is all these pheasants have! Are you kidding me? My stomach kicked and complained like a two year old toddler did not get what he wanted. Snort ripped through my nares and I decided to come back to this bread feast if all else failed. I could feel a pair of eyes on my backside as I jumped away, crashing into the dirt with the few bursts of energy I had left, Though this bread would feel my dying strength, I denied it. I came for a feast, I will not leave till I get a feast. The soft pitter-patter of my pads was silence on the streets. Another house, another feast, I peered in their window. Oh joy Bread AND soup. Seems like my lucky day. I sneered as I had picked the wrong village to raid. But this was perfect for me. The family was receding back into the kitchen and away from the exposed morsel. With every last once of me I pushed through the door and dashed to the table. Pausing, no one heard my entrance. Good, I chuckled as I crammed the loaf into my jowls and turned to the door. My pads tred lightly as I ran out into the streets.
My lungs burned and my stamina decreased. I darted behind a Bush as I could hear the cried from within the house. I merely laughed. Excited by hard earned food, I devoured the loaf in a few bites. Nothing could satisfy my starving needs, But this will do for now.

My stomach was happy, but still complaining as I pictured a feast that I knew would never be found here. A mouse squeaked by in front of me, I lashed out with a paw and sunk my claws into its back as I drew it towards me to be disposed of to my own pleasure. He begged me to stop but as always, I come first. Blood ran down my ivory mug as I continued my hunt for food, I'm never satisfied, and it blows. The Wind caught the tendrils of my forelock and showed me something wonderful. Chicken. God, I love chicken. These foul were gangly and tired. I almost pitty them, Almost. Orbs glanced around as I made my way forth in the shadows, some of my energy had returned, some of it. Smirk pursed my kissers as I began this blood-bath. First hen went down easy, she had no idea I lept on her and severed her head. Claw slashed the neck of another, blood spilling from her as well. After a few seconds, I've killed off half and found the biggest hen there. She was brown, and my new target. Pistons carried me swiftly to become her death giver. I stood up as she was now mine. Her body laid limp in my jaw as I left with her to safety. Her heart still pumped and showered the ground with my trail. I paused and looked behind me to see a man, shocked at what I had done. I wanted to thank him for this. Cause Now I would be full. She slowed me down with her heavy carcass as the man ran after me. Snicker shot forth from my maw, as I darted away to have my feast at last.

He would Find me, I know he would. I should leave the body of his prized possession on his doorstep, but that would take too much effort.

Fafners Wanted: Sapphire, Ruby, Skull, Dino

RP Response:

It happend to be night when I awoke from my long slumber, the wind was blowing softly through the trees and I began to wonder why I had awakend so abruptly; there must be others near by.

I yawned in boredom, ignoring the rumbles from my stomach. True it had been a couple of days since I eaten, with food so little in these dark days. I growled lowly as I streched my way up to all fours; the wind felt nice blowing through my locks of black, blue and white. When I herd a stick crack in the distant and fierce growling going on. Huffing the black strands of fur out of my face, I began to slowly sneak towards the sound. My paws felt the ground in sudden and swift movements untill at last I was near the others; and they looked rather frustrated.

I braced myself for a counter, raising my head up high where the moonlight shone across the gold stones on my forehead. Clearly there was something wrong with this group, or they needed a leader. My heart raced a couple more instants, until at lass I walked forward; my paws gracefully gliding across the ground underneath me like it was made of marble.

"Excuse me?" My voice a soft whisper, but enough strength in it to comand an army. "You disturbed my sleep. May I ask in the least what you are quarreling about?" My crimson eyes flashed dangerously. True it wasn't like I was going to hurt them, but I needed to be braced in case of an inccident; and these disasterous days, there were many. "I'm just curious, it has to be something of importance for me to hear from such a distance."

"Mind your own damn bussiness, learn to sleep harder." snapped one of the members. "This dosen't concern a female. "

I chuckled slightly to myself and pushed one paw forward in front, my tail flicking from one side to the next slowly. "Well, it is my damn bussiness, sir, when I am awakend in my own territory. so in others words, if you want to be mean then get out. " I said coldly with a harsh crisp to my words. "Learn your matters, it might save your life one day."

"Sorry, he hasn't much contact with females Sapphire. We didn't mean to intrude, just investigating for food..." replied a slightly taller Fafner who stodd in front of the young one. "Our leader just died a while back, he always gave his meals to us so he had no strength to fight. "

I lowerd my head to the ground, wiping my eyes with my paw softly. "Well, in that case i'm sorry....that sucks." I shook my head and ruffled the rest of my fur. Placing my paw back into it's place as a gust of chilling wind blowed through. "Just be quiet next time when your fighting, sleeping helps calm my stomach. " I began to turn away when his voice got louder, as if to try to stop me.

"We have food, if you like some. It's barely much, but if you consider-"

"Consider to be your leader?" I laughed darkly. "I've never really been on to lead, I'm more of a lone hunter." I flicked my tail one sharp whip. "But you have my interest. " My eyes flashed with curiosity, a smal grin appearing on my face as I turn to pace over to him. He spoke of royalty and food; how they needed a good, strong, provoking leader. Even if female. It wasn't soon beofre I agreed, and I already had a place in mind to "look" for food.

"We will obey you, Sapphire."

I could only smile when everyone looked at me with such hope; of course some with jealousy. I walked in a circle aroundthem before deciding It was a good group to hang with for a while, sooner or later they would have to go of course.

I scrapped a place for me to rest from the others and laid to rest...again. placing my paws over my face, I yawned a tired yawn and grinned myself to sleep. My crimson eyes shutting completely.

Who will betray who first?.

Fafners Wanted: Sapphire, Ruby, Skull, Dino

RP Response:

Seven days...seven days since I had last tasted a morsel...seven days since the Nobles’ last attack…seven days since the defeat and scattering of my band, my family. We were a ragged group, exhausted from running, fleeing for our lives. As the silken nobles continued to harry our flanks, growing less tolerant of our beliefs, we were forced to cease our raiding, struggling just to survive. We had left simple lives to pursue adventure and heroism.

But now, months later, we had given all we had and received nothing in return. I felt my limbs weaken with every passing day, my once smooth fur grew coarse from malnourishment, and a terrible feeling of listlessness seeped into my mind. I could not possibly pull through the winter. My adopted kin fared no better, many turning to raids on the commoner villages. Instinct drove me to follow them, but my heart drew me back. These commoners could easily be my own family and friends; once upon a time I’d been one of them, struggling to scrape a living from the earth and still pay tribute to the pampered creatures who ruled over us.

A child scampered by not three feet away from my refuge in the shadows, shedding silent tears—but a scrap of dried fruit dangled tantalizingly from her teeth. Mesmerized, I followed as far as the shadows could hide me and watched her seek solace from her mother. She was poorly dressed, and woefully thin—I realized that they fared no better than I. The young mother…a tender light came into her eyes at the arrival of her child, but otherwise they had the dull grayness of eyes which had seen too much suffering…and which were nearly ready to close forever. They might die within days…Dared I steal all they had left?

But no, even if the heavens opened up and poured grain and gold mingled upon the lands, their masters would not relent. This I knew deep within, and it drove me to rage. I would not be reduced to stripping the little these poor souls had, to fill my own body. I would be no better than the nobles, were I to strip the last resources from a family of innocents.

Remorse flooded my body, weakening it. The life of a Rebel was one to protect the helpless, exploit the exploiter. How could I even think of harming those I’d sworn to aid? Better to die, cursing the powers who bound my people beneath them.

I began to surrender to the blackness that loomed over me, the sweet oblivion of sleep and unconsciousness to the cruelty of the world; and I prayed I might never awaken until the oppressors had been cast aside and ground into the dust of the earth. I was so far gone I did not hear the padded footsteps of the little child, only felt the soft warmth of a nose against mine. I lifted heavy lids and saw the small one staring with wide eyes, her mother by her side.

To my surprise and sudden chagrin, their eyes showed no hostility, no resentment. The hollowness had turned to hope. Not a word passed between us, but I could see a glimmer of understanding in the sapphire depths of the mother’s eyes. In shame for my moment of despair, I looked down at my paws. Worn they were, callused and abused, but throbbing with life and the purpose I had forgotten in the midst of tangled thoughts. I shuddered as I realized how close I had come to an irreversible error.

New resolve filled my limbs as I stood. Nothing had changed around me…save the disappearance of the two Fafners, and a scrap of dried fruit that now lay at my feet.

Fafners Wanted: Ruby, Dino, Skull, Sapphire

RP Response:

Why was this happening? Hunger seemed more and more common in these lands, not as it once was. Though a Rebel, I was not one for violence unless it was deathly necessary. And even now, when hunger gnawed my stomach, I was not sure if I would resort to such a thing as ransacking such a poor provider to even it's own people. Sighing, Ruby strode forward, and though she was hunger, her steps were prideful of what she was - a Rebel against the Nobles who pushed others below them into the dirt.

Her approach was not unnoticed, for she was soon confronted. "What do you want?" One asked, his eyes looking over my weather-worn, but strong body. My eyes gazed at the two with uncertainty. Rebels were...disliked in some places, and she was unsure if even Loki was a safe place to be without scorn. "I'm just looking for a place to rest and some kind of meal to fill my empty stomach." She murmured.

They seemed to sober at this. They knew what that feeling was like themselves. After another long moment, they nodded. "Alright." With a slight angered murmur from the other guard, the one who had spoke to me glared for a moment. "But no funny business, got it? We're simple people with a simple existence. We'd like to keep it that way." They turned away and walked down the pathway, keeping the peace in an ever deteriorating village.

As I wandered through the village, I took in just how bad it had gotten. Were the Nobles so snobbish that they dared not even feed those who worked the field, who fed them? I growled, inwardly wanting to hit a wall to evade showing how much rage built within.Even the small children seemed so thin and frail for an age where they should have been full of energy and fat as little cows.

But they were not, and all their eyes held a sad, starved look. Even the adults seemed to not have the energy to help each other. I approached a pair with a calm expression upon my face. "Hello." I said in casual conversation. They were startled by my sudden appearance, and their expressions turned to ones of slight chagrin. No doubt they thought the same of Rebels as everyone else.

"What do you want?" They muttered, their eyes narrowed to slits that pierced me like daggers - their eyes were full of hatred, did they think my kind was the cause for this? "I'm just...wondering what has happened for food to be so scarce." They were taken aback by the question, and their eyes softened. "The Nobles seem to belittle us, and think us not worthy of their food. There is little we can do against them." My lips pulled back in a grin of intrigue and maliciousness. "Yes, there is." That seemed to gain their attention. "Join me." I said, my smile broadening. "We can get back at them, for starving your families and making you have to work so hard just to survive." Anger flashed in her own eyes at the thought, and was mirrored by the others. "Yes." They said quietly. "Yes." They seemed to repeat it like a mantra to soothe their fears, and even my hunger seemed forgotten in this moment of perverse victory.

"Find others who believe the same." She muttered, "Let them know they do not have to bow down to such treatment." I watched them growl in undertones to each other, before disappearing into the crowds of people, going to find others.

I was hopeful then. Was it not so that the Nobles always sat on their high pedestal, and looked down upon those who took guidance from them? What had changed? Even I was unsure. But with these believers, times were about to change. It was time for hungers to be quenched, and pains to be healed. Judgment was going to befall the Nobles.

I slide quietly into Loki a slight limp in my step. I slid into the shadows left by the setting sun and lay down hiding until the sun goes down the rest of the way. I was thinking of my next move. 'What do I do to get food? Where do they keep it? Should I try to steal it?' I wonder laying in the shadows restoring what little energy I had. Outside of the shadows I saw others slinking around in the open. I noticed how thin they were and realized that I probably wouldn't find much to scrounge from around here. I also noticed how their eyes were shifting back and forth suspiciously.

I slipped into the streets after dark when they had emptied, my head hanging low and tail dragging on the ground. Still on full alert I slid up next to a storehouse that had a smell of food coming from it. There were guards outside but they looked like if it came to a fight they would go down easily. I jumped up onto a stack of crates with a slight breeze ruffling my grayish mane. In the storehouse were some crates that looked to have food In them. There weren’t many guards in there so I figured I could steal in easily. Jumping of the crates I went around back and slid in without being seen. I peeked at the boxes trying to see what they held when I heard something behind me.

“And you are?” a voice said from right behind me. I jumped onto the crates and to the top before turning around. Standing there was a Noble.

“Nothing,” my reply came. ‘Crap, what can I do now?’ I thought to myself. Just then one of the crates shifted and I fell into the middle of them. Then all of a sudden the crates caved in on me and everything went black.
