Welcome to ReverieIntroduction
As you wander through the forest, you suddenly stop and stare at the sight before you. A group of trees seem to have joined their branches together, weaving around each other at regular intervals on the way up. Vines and small seedlings grew around these "railings" creating a rough wall of greenery.
You know this isn't natural, and so you follow the wall and soon you appear at a river. Stepping into the water, you can now see the other side of the plant wall. You gape in astonishment as you see that this wall encompasses a large area. The branches and vines even cling to each other above -though not as thickly as the wall- like the arched ceiling of a cathedral.
Welcome to the Reverie.

Jay ZytaAbout the Rider
Jay is the son of a pair of Dragon Riders, riders who had gone a bit too close to feral territory. The riders and their clan perished, but their frightened young 5-year-old boy had managed to get away. Jay was taken in by the Silvanus clan, led by an old rider named Osprey.
The Silvanus clan was a group of Kyns who were deeply in tune with nature, their earth magic even allowing them to communicate with plants. Jay became their Kyn assistant, and trained under Osprey for two decades
Jay never likes to stay in one place, and travels around as much as he can, recording stories he hears. He calls himself a Chronicler, and prides himself in his ability to tell stories effectively, and in the sheer amount of stories in his repertoire.
Jay is an innocent young boy, one who seems rather naive to the right and wrongs of this world. He is rather trusting and has a very open mind. He has an unsatisfiable curiosity, and 20 years worth of trying to quench that thirst for knowledge has given him understanding of many things.
He wears his brown hair short, with a contagious grin always on his face. He normally wears forest colours, practical clothing that changes with the seasons to accommodate the temperature. He carries around a staff of Cherry wood at all times, a gift from his master Osprey.

How the Reverie came to beThe creation of the den
A few weeks after two Easterns of Silvanus gave birth, Osprey became ill and passed away. Around the same time, Jay had been planning a trip to Aedan to confirm rumours of odd new Kyns.
The blow had been severe to the young boy, but he got past his grief, knowing that Osprey lived a full and happy life. The Silvanus clan discussed their options now that they are riderless, and they decided that they will move farther into the Ridgeback and secure a stable territory for themselves. The area they have been staying in with Osprey is beginning to lack the prey to support such a big clan.
Jay decided not to join them, knowing that though the bond with them was strong, it will never be that of rider and Kyn. As the clan made preparations to move, Jay travelled to Aedan's place, planning to stay at the Assistant Lodging, to help out with the ranch, and go from there. Silvanus promised to go visit him before they set off.
When Jay reached the Assistant Lodging, Jay heard about the odd new kyns from Aedan, and how he was trying to find homes for them all. Jay offered to take one of the eggs for the Silvanus clan, and received an odd blue Eastern egg.
A week later, Silvanus sent Shadow, the black European that was usually Jay's mount, to see him. Jay was confused that the whole clan hadn't come, but Shadow offered no explanation, only asking that Jay ride him. Jay agreed, and Shadow took him to the River of Tales, then landed next to what appeared to be an oddly-shaped dome formed out of branches and vines.
It was a Den, Silvanus had made it for Jay.
It was Silvanus's farewell gift to Jay. They wanted him to become a rider of his own clan, and insisted that he keep the blue Eastern egg for himself. After dubbing the den "The Reverie", Jay gave his final goodbyes to the Silvanus clan.
And thus, Jay started his family of Kyns. As with the Silvanus clan, Jay decided that no prince or princess will be chosen, and that he himself as the rider will not consider his own opinions higher than that of the Kyns. That is why he names his clan a family.

Jay's possessions
The Master Book A large book filled with stories. Most are collected from folklore, and mythology of ancient civilizations, and a few are of Jay's own writing. Jay knows most of these stories by heart.
The Cherry Wood Staff Osprey had crafted a staff for Jay only months before the old man had passed away. It was smooth and magically preserved, keeping the wood from rotting and strengthening it. Near the top of the staff, an oak tree, the symbol of Silvanus, was burned into the staff. Just under it, added more recently, was an oak leaf, the symbol of Daydream.
The Bag of Seeds Silvanus had left Jay with a small bag of seeds as a parting gift. Many of Silvanus's members were well practised in magics concerning plants, and had great control over green growth, which is how they were able to create the Reverie. Jay wasn't nearly skilled enough as the kyns of Silvanus, but he'll practise as much as he can with these seeds, and grow some food in the process.
Jay's bag A leather bag that Jay has had for years. It is made of leather, but it's not particularly insulated. Jay carried almost everything in here, and also stores Kyn eggs in this bag when bringing one back to the den. Jay knows a small amount of magic and is proficient at raising and maintaining the temperature inside the bag to the perfect incubation temperature for each species.
Familiars of the FamilyThose who are bonded with the Kyns
Taillow
While Jay travelled the Kyn Island with his new eastern egg, a blue bird made it's home in the empty den. It nested on a branch next to Jay's hammock. When the Chronicler returned to the den, it remained, not scared of the fact humans and Kyns lives here. Because it repeatedly calls of "Taillow" and variations of it, that's what the family calls her.
Chiru During his return from his meeting with Mewtwo, Jay ran into a small bunny. It was light blue in colour, and showed a lot of interest in Jay's egg, Blue-Pearl. When Jay tried to pet it, it shot electricity out of its cheeks, stunning Jay. But more than that will dissuade the Chronicler's curiosity! After a bit of mental prodding, the bunny came to trust Jay. It wanted to go home with Jay, as the little thing wants to live with kyns. Apparently the bunny was familiar to an old Lunar who had died recently, and wanted to be taken in with another clan. The Bunny oftens calls out "Pachirisu" and other variations of it, and prefers to be called Chiru
Pidgey Pidgey lives near the Daydream family, and often visits for food. Eventually Pidgey decided to simply just stay at the reverie. The family calls him Pidgey because he repeatedly says his name. Pidgey tends to stay to himself, and will avoid the Kyns. He has no problem being around Jay or the other familiars though. He gets along particularly well with Taillow.

Map: The Common RoomThe main area
The Common Room is the main bulk of the den. It is surrounded by the wall of trees and plants, woven together tightly enough to keep any animals bigger than a raccoon out. The ceiling's greenery is less packed together, leaving holes as large as fair-sized boulders, though none big enough to admit a large-sized Kyn. This isn't done on purpose, it's just that the system of plants can't grow together as well up there as down here. The Common room is where the family sleeps for most nights, and spend their day in general. The ceiling provides no shelter from rain.
1. The Main Trunk A great oak tree, the Main Trunk is the centre support of the system of branches and vines that make the "ceiling" of the Reverie. A few branches spaced equally apart acts as a staircase to the Canopy above.
2. The Birch A white birch tree, it is one of the supporting pillars of the ceiling system. A dead log had been secured between two ropes on this tree, giving Jay and the smaller kyns a swing to play on.
3. The rope stairs A rope with knots tied at regular intervals hangs from the ceiling above next to the maple tree. Jay uses this rope to climb up the maple, to his personal quarters.
4. River of Tales The great river provides water for the family and also guards the entrance. Well, not really, since the water is rather shallow near the edges. It's a nice place to swim though! Just watch out for the rapids.
5. The stepping stones A series of large stones that mark a miniature rapid in the River of Tales. Flightless Kyns sometimes use this to get across the river.
6. The trail to the cliff A large opening at the back of the Common Room leads to a well-worn trail. This trail goes to the cliffs.

Map: The CanopyHome above the trees
The canopy is the area above the ceiling network of The Common Room. Several of the higher trees are connected by rope bridges, allowing flightless Kyn and humans to travel around.
7. The Landing Platform A large wooden platform had been positioned atop two strong branches, secured magically by vines and smaller branches. Winged Kyns can land on this platform to reach the Canopy.
8. Jay's tree. Three small platforms are secured around this tree like the Landing platform, each a on a different level of height.
The one at the bottom is connected to a Rope bridge toward the Main trunk, as well as the rope to let him down to the Common Room.
The second platform uses the third platform as a roof, and this is where Jay puts his personal belongings, safe from the rain. He also sleeps here, a hammock strung from branch to branch. The third and highest platform opens out to a beautiful view of the sunset every night. A branch grew out over this platform at the perfect height, allowing Jay to use it as a seat.
9. The Zipline Jay finds crossing the river on the Stepping Stones rather dangerous, so he fashioned a zipline on on of the trees overlooking the river. This allows him to slide down the rope on a harness (pretty fast too) and will also allow him to pull himself back up from the other side of the river.

Map: The CaveA place to hide
When it's raining, there's no shelter in the main den, so the family sleeps in the cave dug in the cliff whenever there's a downpour.
9. The Cave It's more of a depression in the cliff than anything, but it provides a rainproof overhang over an area that can shelter at least a dozen good-sized kyn.

 Nabia DratiniThe Dragon Pokemon
Hatched on Monday August 25th, 2008
[Egg][Hatchling]
The eastern egg was given to Jay by Aedan during his stay at the Assistant Lodgings. Jay carried the egg with him at all times in his pack, using the limited magic he knew to keep the pack at just the right temperature.
Jay traveled the Island, taking in the sights with his new Kyn still safely unhatched and on his back. It's blue colouring confused Jay, who has only ever seen white Eastern eggs. That was how he made the decision to nickname the kyn 'Blue-Pearl'.
Nabia hatched after Jay came back to the den from meeting Mewtwo.
Nabia is a very quiet Kyn, but tries to take on many responsibilities. She enjoys playing a mother figure, and gets very annoyed at any disrespect toward her. She tends to like to take over things, and hesitates to allow others to do the task in fear they will do something wrong. Nabia is very close with her rider, and rarely leaves his sight.
Nabia really enjoys playing with water, and is a very good swimmer. Actually, Nabia finds herself more comfortable in the water than out, spending her days in the River Tales whenever she and Jay are at the den.
