One of the least understood Pokemon has to be the infamous Mewtwo, but who could he possibly go home with in this event that could satisfy him? He refused to go up for Auction, or into a Raffle, or show up in any regular event. So, Mewtwo's hosting his own event for his own 'home' - and I'm warning you this Psychic Pokemon is a force to be reckoned with.

The Deal
Mewtwo will be certed, assuming he finds someone he can live with. However, Mewtwo will be, in many ways, an NPC. He's his own character, and will (unfortunately...) remain that way. Good luck convincing him to do anything you want to, though. But don't worry, he'll be around when you don't want him to be, honest!

Is there a reason for him only being able to be roleplayed by the shop? Yes, actually. There's a really good RP plot point that will be hit later on that Mewtwo will be needed in. He's also an incredibly strong Pokemon character, and therefore a very strong Kyn, and his power must be controlled. He juts needs a really short leash, and I'm afraid what would happen while trying to hand his leash over.

General
Mewtwo will see you all one-on-one, and if you want to send in your rider or your Kyn, he won't argue. But only one at a time. You may roleplay your rider and any or all Kyn interacting with Mewtwo simultaneously, but they will be isolated from one another. Besides, he's a Psychic Pokemon, he can be in many places at once.

The Bribe
Mewtwo has a flat 'adoption' rate (more like a bribe for this semi stuck-up guy), of 4,000. In addition, he is growing. Which means that, yes, when he's a hatchling he'll be semi-dependent on his rider and, if plausible, other den mates. I'd encourage you to be prepared to roleplay. ^.^

Setting
It was nightfall, and for this single span of night he had agreed to meet with others of his 'kind' and these riders. So he waited, up in the mountains where the fir trees were sparse and the night wind ripped across exposed skin. Waiting, and biding his time.

There was a spring in his steps as he worked his way up the trails throughout the day. He had lived up in the Ridgeback mountains with the Silvanus clan for almost his entire two-decades-and-a-half of life, so the rough uneven path weren't a problem for him. No stream nor boulder could stop this young man's excited step.

He held a cherry wood staff in one hand, a momentum of his master Osprey and thus a prized possession of the young man. Slung across his shoulder was a bag of leather, and in it contained three of the most important things to him: His book of stories, a pack of seeds Silvanus had given to him before their departure, and a blue-tinged Eastern egg, received from Aedan.

The soon-to-be Kynrider had been travelling around, even though he had a Kyn egg with him. The Silvanus clan had made him a den -and for that, he was grateful- but to him, it's not a place to stay, but rather a familiar place to return to. To the man who called himself a Chronicler, the road was his home, and he shall never be bound by walls of any kind.

He had heard about a Kyn that was looking for a home (well, sort of) and even though he didn't have much details, he decided to check it out anyways; he's well known for that insatiable curiosity of his.

As night fell, he drew his travelling cloak tighter in around him to protect himself from the cold mountain breezes. Autumn was beginning to fall on the Island, and it comes even sooner up here so high. He doesn't mind the cold, but he is still human and had his limits. The enthusiasm in his step did not diminish though, and soon after, he arrived at the appointed place.

The lack of trees did unnerve him for a while, so used to living in the more foliaged areas of the Ridgeback. Silvanus was a clan known for it's ability to interact with the plants after all.

The slight moment of discomfort was completely erased though, when his eyes settled on the gargoyle kyn. Jay had only known one Gargoyle, and that had been a recent addition to the Silvanus clan, one Jay has never gotten the opportunity to fully bond with. And this purplish silver kyn exuded an aura of control and and confidence that truly awed the man.

Suddenly, his interest in this meeting -considerable to begin with- doubled.

"Hi there!" he said enthusiastically, with the normal friendly grin on his face. He dropped into a genuine bow of respect, then looked back up again, his dark eyes sparkling.

"My name is Jay, Jay Zyta. Nice to meet you!"

((Question: If we're going to get all of Mewtwo's stages, does that mean we'll be meeting Mewtwo during his hatchling or adult stage here and that's how the story will be told? Or will during actual main story we'll pretend that whoever convinced Mewtwo to join their clan found his egg and ignore the role-playing done here?))

((He is growing, and this roleplay is important and does count, and it'll all make sense later. Or not, and it just makes senes to me because I'm already crazy. XD))

He had felt the human presence approaching long before the man became visible to the limitations of the eyes, and even when he spoke Mewtwo did not turn around to look at him. There really was no need to. Why did you come here? The question was far more a statement, maybe even bordering on a demand, and the thought-speech crashed against the other like a wave - he had incredible magic to push an unbonded link that like.

His purple tail coiled slowly behind him, uncoiling and recoiling again as time passed. The end floated above the ground, held there as if the appendage weighed nothing or very well was independent of the planet's gravitational forces.

Jay was surprised when he heard the Kyn's voice in his mind, a rather powerful voice that stunned Jay for a moment. The surprise passed though, and the man was more curious than intimidated. The feral could speak the human language, and communicate without a bond!

Jay had met a clan on the Ridgeback who communicated with each other solely with mindspeak, and thus their control and practise with it allowed them some communications with those they don't share a bond with. But that was only because those Kyns had decided on mindspeak as their primary form of talking to each other. This kyn doesn't seem to fit that kind of profile.

"Well, I heard about an unbonded kyn looking for a clan. That would be yourself right?" Jay answered the question, looking the Gargoyle up and down. His winglessness intrigued him- he has never seen a wingless kyn except for lunars before.

Jay shivered slightly as the breeze picked up and he realized that he was rather cold. Looking around, he spotted a small boulder just the right size for a chair, walked over to it, and sat down. He took his pack off his back and placed it on his lap, under his travelling cloak.

Jay knew some magic, and he has been able to keep this bag heated at the right incubation temperature for the eastern egg. The seeds and his book were safely tucked away in an insulated bag inside so they wouldn't be damaged. But the bag itself wasn't very heat-resistance, and hugging it like this warmed the chronicler up quite a bit.

He waited for the Kyn's reply for a moment before realizing something.

"Oh, forgive my manners, I forgot to ask. What is your name?"

He turned his head very faintly to look at Jay as he seated himself, his face devoid of emotions while his eyes flickered with an intense hatred aimed at nothing and everything. You invite yourself here and make rash demands. You are the one who should be answering questions. He was still feral, no matter his ease with the human language and his seemingly docile nature. Both of those things could change on a whim, which ferals were prone to have.

But it was hard to think that this wingless, odd Kyn was in a situation to hurt anything. Half of him screamed one thing and the other proclaimed another. Certainly, at least, he wasn't a physical fighter like most ferals - without magic. That, however, was all the more strange. Ferals didn't learn magic.

((Cherry, I apologize vastly for these short posts. I can promise in a more real RP situation, he'd have far more to say and do, but we are a little pressed for time methinks))

Jay, always a good judge of character, knew that it will be difficult getting along with this Kyn, but he was determined. He seemed perfectly relaxed and in truth, he wasn't nervous at all, just eager to find out the outcome of this meeting. Fear was never an emotion that came to the young man easily.

"I'm sorry, but I'm afraid I don't know how to address you otherwise." Jay dipped his head slightly, and looked back up at the kyn. He figured that his normal carefree approach to everything may not be the best way to deal with this Kyn at the moment, so he lowered his voice slightly and forced himself to sound a bit more professional. Not that it came easily to him, although it helped that he was naturally polite. It's hard not to be when your master made you skip meals if you forget your manners.

A part of him wondered how this kyn learned the human tongue, how he could mindspeak to those he didn't share a bond with. A part of Jay was always wondering about something.

Another part of him wondered what kind of life would have led to this Kyn to gain its seemingly hostile personality. A small part of him reasoned that it was part of living as a feral, but Jay wasn't too sure about that. Ferals were still creatures part of a natural order, along with bondeds. Though they can be fierce and territorial, it is no different from the badger that will fight to the death to protect its young ones.

"Questions huh? Sure go ahead, I don't mind answering a few!" Jay completely forgot that he was trying to be a bit more serious than usual.

Jay had grown up with a large clan of Kyns, and is in no way sheltered from the outside world. He has travelled everywhere to help rescue abandoned eggs, to inform villagers about Kyns to help them be better understood, and this travel along with Jay's powerful curiosity has led the man to be educated in many different subjects. It was a game back at the Silvanus clan for the Kyns to try to think of questions that will stump the boy.

Finding answers to questions was one of Jay's happiest pursuit in life. Although he knew that what the Kyn was talking about was not the tests of knowledge Silvanus usually asked him, he liked the prospects that the Kyn might at least start some sort of conversation.

Although that would depend on how the Gargoyle really meant his sentence.

(( Don't worry Waffles, I can see that the situation here makes it very hard to make a decently long post ^^ I'm just really glad right now I sent Jay and not Rowan XD Rowan's too easily intimidated for this to work, Mewtwo's not exactly that friendly XP ))

The more Jay seemed to enjoy himself, the edgier the feral Kyn became. He was much like his brethren in that respect, not enjoying human company and perhaps even having trouble understanding humans in general. But then, of course, why had he called this meeting for humans, out in the open, where he was unprotected?

Why are you here? The mind-voice cracked sharply, the creature's back still to Jay and his attention farther away than even the visible stars that were beginning to peek through the rays of the setting sun.

The question just might have been fairly redundant, but he asked it anyway. Out of all the questions that Jay had probably answered in his lifetime, it also just might have been the most important.

((Cherry, if you're the only one that's posted by the Sunday after Thanksgiving, you've got him. We can continue the RP as needed past that date, however. ^.^))

Jay pondered the question for a moment. The answer was simple enough, but he wondered if this kyn would accept it? He didn't pause too long though, no matter what he thinks what the results will be, he's still going to tell the Kyn his true feelings about this. It's not him him otherwise.

"Because I wanted to come." He stated simply. "It's another chance to see new things, and make new friends. I believe that's plenty reason enough to do anything, don't you?"

He couldn't help but notice that this was a really beautiful scene. The sun was dipping below the horizon, casting long shadows and lighting everything with an orange glow. He should come back to the Ridgeback a few more times to see this sunset again.

Even in the middle of a conversation like this, the back of his mind was already putting together a story, another tale to add to his collection of stories.

Mewtwo's tail lashed, and he snorted. Friends? Is that the best reason you can come up with, human? His tone, even his mental one, seemed laced with hatred. Whether it was the truth or not, it offered an outlet for the other's anger. This one was a very dangerous feral Kyn, despite its ability to speak through a mind link without a bond.

Doing what you want to do is a better choice than doing it to make new friends. That is a silly notion.

((This RP, as you asked, can be long or short, depending on what happens. ^.^; So I can't really give you a good timeline idea for it.))
PostPosted: Wed Jan 28, 2009 6:45 pm

Jay sighed, knowing that the notion of friendship isn't something that will make an impression on a feral. At least he tried. Humans are social creatures, and need the presence and support of each other to survive. It's rare to ever have a human, or even a family, living by themselves.

Kyns however, are usually solitary, at least those not bonded to a rider and are a part of a clan.

"So what did you call people here for then?" He finally asked. You'd think he'd be wondering why this Feral was asking for people to come from the very beginning.

((Alright then. Sorry for the short post, I think I've been writing too much fanfics today. ))

His tail flicked again, and he smiled faintly, though the motion was all teeth and little gentleness. To see if you humans were worth saving. The question, of course, was from what. Was this feral by himself a threat to the Kyn, or was there something else out there? If he had power enough to project his mind into someone else's without knowing their language as a bonded Kyn would, what else was he capable of?
PostPosted: Fri Feb 06, 2009 5:58 pm

Jay was just beginning to feel uncomfortable. Not really of his current situation, but because he was starting to believe that whatever was happening here, it was no small matter. He held onto his bag a bit more tightly as another gush of wind blew past, making him shiver.

He looked up at the Gargoyle with a concern expression when he said something about if humans were worth saving. From what? I mean, it can be literally, or philosophically. Well, Jay's over thinking this a bit, but the kyn's definitely caught his attention this time.

"What do you mean?" He asked, hoping the kyn would elaborate. If the gargoyle was deciding 'if humans were worth saving' then does that mean Jay is being an ambassador of his species here? It's definitely starting to shake him a bit more.

Something serious must be going on.

He chuckled - the noise reverbrating in Jay's mind and not his ears. It was an eerie sound, regardless of what its source was.

Disaster is inevitable in this illusion of paradise. You riders, you war with the humans and the ferals here. How long do you think it would be before someone more powerful than you decided to put a stop to it? You will be lucky if there is a place and a you left to live in the end.

Perhaps he was trying to scare Jay off, but his words were not a laughing matter even if they were said in jest.

The gargoyle turned away from staring at the night sky, walking away from the edge of the cliff, but not down the path that Jay had come from. The way this feral went was overgrown with brush, which he oddly seemed to pass through without disturbing.
PostPosted: Tue Feb 10, 2009 1:28 pm

Jay frowned as he watched Mewtwo seemingly leave.

"We don't war with each other." He murmured sadly. "We just don't understand one another well enough. All we need to do is to get past our differences..."

That part of Mewtwo's sentence might have hit a sore spot with Jay. The boy had been orphaned because Ferals had killed his parents.

Jay sat there for a moment, before gathering up his pack and carefully setting it on his back as not to disturb the eastern egg within. He felt determined now, to see this meeting with the strange Feral through to the end.

Before someone more powerful decided to put a stop to it? Did the Kyn mean himself? Or of another being?

Jay went to where the Feral had disappeared into the brush, pushing aside the tough plants to catch a glimpse of where the odd feral had gone, assuming that the Kyn had meant for him to perhaps follow.

If the feral gargoyle hadn't wanted Jay to follow him, he said nothing to deter the man. On the other side of the underbrush, the mountain's cliff face loomed overhead. It was covered in vines, and the underbrush was pushed up against it in many places. But Mewtwo didn't pause, merely moved right through a particularly dense patch of overgrowth, leaving it undisturbed behind him. There was a cave, or else the Kyn could materialize through rock walls.

If Jay followed, five paces from the underbrush covering, there was a small fire lit that cast strange shadows against the walls, but provided enough light for even a human to see by. The only strange thing about the fire was that it had no wood or brush underneath it, and no pit surrounding it; it simply sat, burning, of its own accord.

Mewtwo halted and turned to face Jay, the fire between them. In the lowlight, the gargoyle's hunching form, crowded into the small cave, was even more menacing. It was almost like the mongoose had just dove into the cobra's den without the element of surprise on his side.
