It's time to face facts, my fellow agents, GiB looms on the edge of a great precipice - a great drop stares back at us, a cliff no other Gaian guild has come so close to before, not in the history of this realm; we're slowly encroaching on an age in which the GiB itself, becomes mythologized.
We're about to be blessed with our own position within the Battle Zone, there's a cool & enigmatic NPC who represents us, and it's not as if we are unknown to the public.
So what am I suggesting? Nothing but tawdry query, I assure you. And yet I ask my fellow droogs to prepare yeselves, know that things might change around here. For starters, the pressure from oldbies and noobs alike to join our ranks is going to stir, frothing until it comes to a boil. The influx of hopefuls will grow, this is for certain.
I'm not fear-mongering; I simply think we need to become mentally ready for the variances that myth & lore will bring. We should nail down an Agent cap, begin to think those thoughs, "How many is too many?" And we should expect the jealous types - those not unlike the GiW (I'm sure we remember this, and a million other likewise guilds, from the Zurg Halloween event); these will start to crop up once more.
There are x factors of course - will the NPCs recognize actual GiB members, or will they treat us like any other Gaian? I should hope the script-writers who are building zOMG! have thought about the position of an in-game character based off of metagame ones - and his duties to defer between agents and non-agents.
Gaia is entering a stage of 2.0 - and we need to begin to think about what this means for us, and for GiBs position within the public as well.

Wow, that's awesome... though, I'm not looking forward to the jealous guilds like GIW...

Yeah, I've thought about this. Its going to be strange, for sure.
How much you wanna bet that most people think we're a knockoff of the NPCs, though? XP

Then we should just show them the guild's age talk2hand
Chances are that, if we do get an NPC, it will totally ignore us. After all, how could it recognize agents from normal users?

Chances are that, if we do get an NPC, it will totally ignore us. After all, how could it recognize agents from normal users? Exactly.

So how's about the entire guild makes a scene on the first day when it's released to the public? I mean, just to prove we're still alive, long after the events have quieted down. Besides that, they should think of something good, not just one of those, "Don't bother me, I is working" NPCs. Let's just hope they researched the actual GiB before they started these NPCs.

The admins know who we are. They did constantly make us out to be a bad organization, but they know we're not. Plus, rumor has it that Ling checks into our guild sometimes.
It will be a concern, but you know what? It'll just be fun to have us recognized.

As said before, we should totally make that place our meeting place ninja As soon as it's released, we'll make a Clan, and we'll set everything.
Ah, I wonder if somebody will try to snatch our name? We should hurry and make it as quickly as possible.

I don't think it'll be too bad. The overwhelming majority of zOMG! players will most likely be noobs who joined from Runescape or something, and they won't catch the reference to the GiB at all. They'll just think it's a joke.
We should make a scene on the first day, though. That'd be cool, and it'd show them who the real GiB is, as opposed to the few posers that will show up.

Thank you Toastbusters for raising this point. While I am excited about the GiB being recognized as an orginization in the Battle Zone, the implications had not hit home until this posting.

Yeah I agree with everything. And it would be AWESOME to have a different dialouge for being GiB agents. And we should create a clan. Also I think we need a thread that has people say if they want to join the group marching on opening day through zOMG. But we have to wait till we find the release date before anyone should say they are available.

I really do hope they do recogonize us over a normal Gaians. But in any case I'm sure if they don't get all the GiB agents, the should atleast get the most active. Like TIM, Vince, Zi, and others.

I agree with Sole_Stealer. But I think those who interacted directly with the UFOs will probably recieve honors, if any are being bestowed.

No we should not make a big scene. Then people would think we are elitists and get all pissed off. The best thing for us to do is to lay low for a while and take our ids out of our sigs. Toast that same thought had already occurred to me.

Toast that same thought had already occurred to me. We're not being all "We can have it, but you can't! Haha!" about it, I was talking about, like, a small gathering in Barton, just talking to people as agents of the GiB. Nothing huge like going on a shooting spree half-way down to Durem. Just something to let them know we still exist. It's not like it's a full-fledged event.
Besides, what could go wrong? It's not like everyone has a huge gun they could blow our heads off with if they don't like us. The worst thing that could happen is a hate group comes up and starts an e-fight.
