Personally, I don't like it when video games suddenly become movies. Anime series, no problem, so long as they stay true to the game. However, I think Hollywood needs some new ideas.
I never liked the Laura Craft films, or the resident evil ones.
So what do you think? When VGs, go to Hollywood is it good or bad?

Some games have a feel that seems more like a movie than a video game, anyway. I've always thought that Resident Evil fit into that category...
Video games in general, though... yeah, I'm with you, movies usually end up changing too much or just making it seem silly.
Stuff like this is fun.

Is there ever a time when you feel like the movie might be so bad that it could butcher the actual game? I feel like that's what the Prince of Persia movie coming out might do, especially since Disney is the one that's making it...

...Disney?! I knew about the Prince of Persia movie, but I didn't know about Disney's participation...
Well, they did do an excellent job with Pirates, after all. Maybe it won't be so bad... we'll just have to wait and see.

Actually, the Tomb Raider movies were not so bad. As well as the Resident Evil ones. It could be much, much worse: basically, anything that was directed by Uwe Boll.
First, Uwe Boll is a bad, bad, baaaaaad director whose movies are NEVER good. Second, Uwe Boll thinks he's "the only genius in the whole ******** business" (and he said so literally). Third, his bad movies will probably continue for quite a while because his producers are corrupt ******** exploiting a legal loophole in Germany that makes it more profitable to make bad movies instead of good ones.

A Legend of Zelda movie? neutral I'm not sure about that. Is Link going to actually talk? Either way, I can't say I'm excited to see it, and I love LOZ games. The Link actor really isn't hot either. I mean in LOZ:TP he was total eye candy. <3

rofl Awwww man! I had totally forgotten that there was a Dead or Alive movie. I haven't seen it, but it's totally going on my Netflix queue.
Just to clarify a couple of things: The Zelda movie trailer was an April Fool's joke by IGN. (Although, they did not make the fact that it was a joke immediately apparent, and there were many people who thought that it was real.) I agree that that actor is not smooth-featured enough to play Link. >>
As for the Dragonball movie... brace yourself... IT'S REAL. The Dragonball movie poster is not a joke, it is a real advertisment.
For info on the Dragonball movie, GO HERE. (The site is fanmade but all of its coverage is real.)

NOOOOOOOOO! The worst has happened! A DBZ film! It's the end of the semi-respectable anime as we know it!

I've been seeing commercials for a Max Payne movie and it made me think of this thread. 3nodding
Like I said in my first post, some video games are more movie-like than game-like, and what I've seen of Max Payne looks like it fits into the movie-like category.
Has anyone seen it yet? Looks good? Looks bad?
