Come one, come all and post a poem. Post a poem you wrote or just post one that caught your attention. P.S. Don't offend anyone but still have fun with it. P.S.S. Just for effect, please use the post style "document" P.S.S.S. If you are quoting a poem, always say who wrote it.

PIE
Pie is sweet, Pie is neat, Pie is a wonderful thing to eat. Cheery, pumpkin, apple pie, It is tasty, MY, OH, MY. Some people bake it, buy it, fry it, Then they eat it, What a diet. Pie is such a wonderful thing, I wish I were a pie king.

" It's funny how hello is always accompanied with goodbye, It's funny how good memories can start to make you cry, It's funny how forever never seems to last, It's funny how much you'd lose if you forgot about your past, It's funny how much "friends" can just leave you when your down, It's funny when you need someone they're never around, It's funny how people change and think they're so much better, It's funny how many lies can be packed into one "love letter" It's funny how people forgive even though they can't forget, it's funny how one night can contain so much regret, it's funny how ironic life turns out to be, but the funniest part of all is that none of that's funny to me" ~ unknown (i found this on photobucket)

The Division of the hours
"The Day is words and rage. The Day is order, earth and gold. It is the philosophers in their in their cities; It is the map-makers in their wastelands. It is roads and milestones, It is panic, laughter and sobriety; White, and all enumerated things, It is flesh;it is revenge; it is visibility.
The Night is blue and black. The Night is silence, poetry and love. It is the dance in their grove of bones, It is all transforming things It is fate, it is freedom. It is masks and silver and ambiguity, It is blood; it is forgivness It is the invisible music of instinct."

this poem is epic!
FIRE AND ICE - Robert frost
Some say the world will end in fire, Some say in ice. From what I've tasted of desire I hold with those who favor fire. But if it had to perish twice, I think I know enough of hate To say that for destruction ice Is also great And would suffice.

Um... here is a poem I did for school. It ended up getting published into a book with a whole bunch of other poems, once my teacher entered it into a contest. If you don't like drawing, animal, or mythical creatures I would suggest to pass this poem. and if you don't like poems in general then I will just have to ask you why you are even looking at this topic....
"Overload of Drawings"
Paper, pencil, eraser: Start What to draw... Draw tiger in the jungle. Draw a panther in the night. Draw a phoenix in a lake of lava. What to draw... Draw an eagle gliding through the dawn. Draw a dragon flying across a red sky. Draw a griffin tending to her kits. What to draw... Draw a Pegasus fighting evil. Draw a snow leopard playing in the dead of winter. Draw a wolf running over the snow and with its pack. What to draw... Draw an elven girl using magic to see through the eyes of a jaguar. Draw a dwarf blacksmithing a silver suit of armor and his silver, magical war hammer Draw a human fighting orcs, to no end, hoping to prevail. Whatever you draw you will need some paper, a pencil, an eraser: Done For I have drawn me thinking of what to draw.

I'm nobody! Who are you? Are you nobody, too? Then there's a pair of us — don't tell! They'd banish us, you know.
How dreary to be somebody! How public, like a frog To tell your name the livelong day To an admiring bog!
Emily Dickinson
(I also found a version where the third line of the second verse is "To tell your name the livelong June")

Here's one I wrote for an assignment...
Love Spell
A dash of passion A pinch of pain A chunk of ice A flickering flame You feel my desire You hear my soft call Release your inhibitions And let yourself fall With a sky full of stars And moonlight so bright You find yourself walking Through my garden this night The Goddess will smile Our souls at last free True love now united So Mote It Be

These are two poems I wrote in September of 2007. They're supposed to go together, so I'll keep them in the same post. They're also free verse poems, so they don't rhyme. I hope you enjoy them anyway. Let me know what you think of them, too, ok? Thanks, bunches. smile
Give Me A Sign Down the hall Past all those people, The ones who separate Me From you, I see your face. You're talking with friends, Laughing, Chatting, Having a good time. Then, As if you can Sense me Watching you, You turn. Our eyes meet and, For one fleeting moment, I hope for a smile, A wink, A wave, Something to show That you know me, Want me to come over, To join you and your friends. But my hopes Are all in vain. You go back to your conversation As if nothing happened; Our eyes never met. No one else notices The look that we shared, That's the way you want it, The way you plan it. I'm the social outcast, Even among the outcasts. Why should you acknowledge A nobody like me? I understand The vast difference Between us, But, I keep on hoping, Wishing, Praying that you'll look at me And keep eye contact. You'll stare at me Like I stare at you.
You call me annoying' A nuisence to your life. It's never said to me Directly, But I have ears And I hear about the words That you share Among your peers. I know why You call me these things. It's because I act Like a complete And utter Fool Whenever I'm nearyou. You see, I try so hard, When you're around, To be cool, Mautre, Calm and collected, To be like the people That surround you, The people with whom You spend hours And hours with. But, in my Attempt to be cool, Mature, Calm and collected, I get flustered And do something foolish. I'm not the same As those people Who follow you. I don't really Want to be like them. It's just, That's where you are.
I want to be with you, Spend time with you. There is so much that I'm dying to know. Things like: When's your birthday? What's your favorite movie, Band, Color, Food? What do you do In your free time Away from The mass of people, The watching eyes, And constant stares. Is there anyone You like? Do you have Someone special? If so, What's she like? I wish it were me. I wish With all my heart That I was the one That caught your eye.
Why don't I have The courage That it takes To cross these Few Short Feet? Why can't I take One step Towards you? Help me. Give me a sign, A reason To go over to you And be near you. Casually give me That look, That glance, That word that says I can take that step, That one step, That will start Everything. Please, Give me a sign, Just a little one. But, alas, No sign will come. No sign will come. No sign Even exists, Not, at least, For people like me. Not for the friendless, Lifeless, And lonely people. So, I'm standing here, Staring at you, Waiting for the sign That will never come.
That was the first one. Here's the sequal. smile
The First Step I feel someone watching No, Staring at me. I quickly flick my eyes Down the hall. That's when I see you Staring ever so intently At me. Our eyes meet For one Brief Second. Then I look away, Not wanting the people, Who follow me every day, To see that my eyes wandered; That I wasn't really Paying attention To their lies. That's all their lives are, Stories made up So I'd think that they Are worthy of my time. Like I care about things like Sports, Money, Or popularity. I just was thrown Into this place, This possition of power. I'm not any different Than the other people.
As the lies continue To flow out of the mouths Of these fake friends, My thoughts go back to The presence That oftentimes is there. I quickly look again Down the hall To where you're standing. You stand there Staring into space, Not caring if people see you, NOt having to be fake, Free to be who you want. I've seen you, I've watched you When you think I'm not there. I've seen you laugh, I've seen you cry. So many times I've watched you smile, Wanted to talk With you. Your freedom Intrigues me. I find you so Interesting. I wonder, though, Why do you Feel the need to change When I'm near you? I like you when you're you. Don't try to be like These fakes, These leeches that follow me, Latch on to me, And suck me dry of life.
There are so many times When I've wanted To leave these fakes, Cross the hall, And envelope you in a hug. But I can't. These people surround me Like a fence, A fence designed to keep Me from you. They call you annoying, A nuisance, In my name! That's not me! I would never, Never, Say anything like that. Not to you. You who always Look so sad, So lonely. Almost like You're waiting for something. What are you waiting for? An invitation? A sign? A release from this, This life, This existance? I want to save you, Save you from life, From it's troubles, Fears, Sorrows, Whatever is causing you pain. Please, Let me save you. Give me a sign, A hint, Something! Let me see what you need, What you want. Give me the look, The touch, The word that tells me, Shows me, That it's ok for me To save you. Let me be there for you.
I would gladly leave This group of fools To spend time with you, But I'm afraid. No, I'm terrified! I don't want to be shunned, To be refused. Do you need me? Do you need a shoulder, A friend, Someone to talk to? YOu're always on your own, Is that by choice? Somehow, I don't think so. YOur stares, Always longing, Reaching, Grasping for attention, Tell me what you want, What you need. So I'll take that step, That deciding step, And hope, And pray, That I'm not wrong. As I take this step, Step towards me. Let me know that I did the right thing, That it's ok. I can't do this By myself Meet me here. Meet me at this point Where both our lives Will change for better. Come to me As I come to you. I took the first step. Will you follow?
That's that. Sorry the post is so long. Please, let me know what you think. Thanks again.
