Central Field

True to it's name, the Central Field is nestled in the center of the agricultural district, home to farmer Bob and his prized cow Betsy, among many other farmers. And cows. And
mud.

Those that don't mind getting their hands, feet, torso, and neck wet might also find something else to dive into besides the seas of corn.

The smoldering remains of Captain Marius' Sabre, a large airship of metal and wood, burns over farmer Bob's crops. Several bodies of pirates can be found here, but Cap'n Marius and his inner circle seem to have vanished, along with a fair amount of equipment and treasure.

The Sabre its blue-steel hull on top of Farmer Bob's prize crops, the heat of the convection current wilting the plants and starting small fires.

Kiren, black hair kept back in a bandana, peered over the wooden railing of the ship's deck. "Hmm, still got some kinks to work out."

"Alright, crew, you heard what I had to say." Marius' voice boomed over the crunching of plants and dirt underneath the ship. "Now let's get us some loot! Stay together, split up, I don't care, just carry back as much as you can." His left hand rested on the hilt of his cutlass, and his right rested on a black and red revolver. "Kuji, you're with me," he said, turning back to his aged first mate. "The rest o' you dogs, watch the ship and get ready to take off if there's trouble. I won't have ye risking m'ship just because I'm not on it!

"And ye new folks--well, ye know what to do."

opaj leaned against the mast. He was pretty sure it was just for decoration. At some point in his mind, pirate had come to mean adventurer--he'd forgotten that there would probably be pillaging involved. He shrugged. If the people were gone anyway, probably dead, didn't hurt to help himself to some of the spoils.

+++The ride had been...Well, it had been a ride. He was asleep most of the time, but it didn't really matter. The earthen hued eyes would peer forth from his spot on the deck before he would hoist up the weapon that he had come to be known for. The chainsword was lifted up and placed upon his shoulder as he nodded.

+++"Time to gakking get paid."

+++As he said this he'd walk by the one that had come to be known as opaj. How he came to know this? Well, he had been introduced to some of the people for the ride. Other than that did it truly matter? Regardless he'd nod towards the guy on the mast and begin to get off the ship. It was time to get some spoils for home.

opaj nodded back, pushing himself off the mast to a stand. Adjusting the katana at his hip, he approached the plank that had been extended to the ground.

"Where to begin," he said to no one in particular. "Palace, mansions, or... hm."

+++"Yo...Maybe we should stick together. Just in case there's some heavy s**t? What you say?"

+++As he said this his eyes fell to the east and he looked. There could be something that way, but at the same time there could be something important anywhere in the entire city. Thus, he wouldn't even try to second guess himself. He would head east whether or not the man would follow and tag along. Not like he had too much to be afraid about. His team did come in first in the biggest fighting tournament of the lands.

"Ah," opaj nodded, setting foot on terra firma. "Not a bad idea. We new guys gotta watch each others backs, yeah?"

Meanwhile, Angelbell would be in stealth follow mode.

"So, thattaway?" opaj pointed towards the Palace Dome. "Looks rich. Let's go."

Cap'n Marius would stay behind until some more of his new recruits left the ship.

+++Dzan would nod. It seemed the very perfect opportunity. Hell, why not? There was nothing wrong with any of the ideas. They were here for pillaging and rape...Well, maybe not rape in the literal sense, but if there was a fight for sure. He'd chuckle as these thoughts ran through his head and with the man agreeing to watch his back at the price of him watching his.

+++"Sounds good to me. Let's go!" As he said that he'd begin at a slow trot towards the place. Best get there before anyone else.

"I didn't realize you wanted company."

The words would drawl out, even as a pair of greaved feet hit the ground, causing the cloak that was worn around the knelt figure to swell out, before conforming to the shape of the body again.

Standing up, a single yellowed eye stared out towards Opaj and Dzan. "Do you want your hand held as well?" He grinned that familiar s**t-eating grin that he had flashed to the punk at the finals so long ago...

Cocking his head to the side, he watched everyone else getting off the ship, before turning back and looking around their landing point. He had talked a bit with the Captain in the bar beforehand, and then kept to himself in order to keep track of who was joining up... he hadn't even revealed himself to the rest until now, content with bundling up and sleeping through the ride to Fairchild.

"Right on." opaj followed Dzan towards Palace Dome, hand on hilt. The two of them combined, he thought, were much more likely to make it out alive--after all, opaj had seen Dzan fight.

Meanwhile, Marius was singing pirate ditties.

+++"Gak off. If you want the real treasures you'll follow suit!" And thus he went off towards the Palace Dome.

Palace Dome.

((Heh, I linked the wrong thread from here, it seems.))

[Edit]

Vahn Fah... well, this would be interesting indeed, opaj thought as he headed east.

He closed his eyes, shrugging both shoulders as he began trailing both men.

If you think about it, the first place to really check would be where the people in charge are supposed to be. If Victor really did have something to do with this...then there's no better place to look. His right eye settled on the backs of both men, even as he turned to give one last look back at the airship.

"...."

And he continued on towards the Palace. Maybe he should have brought a sack with him.

User ImageWhen the emerald butterfly hovers over the horizon, wings open wide...

Jolene secured her hair back into her tall black ponytail, pointed ears sticking out between the tight ebony lockes. She felt odd, since there was no sea spray to cover her after a voyage. Her own ship, the Mantilla had taken a few too many hits, and was now forced to get around other ways.

Her right hand irritably gripped the handle of her shamshir, dormant in it's sheath at her hip. Reduced from the Captain of the Mantilla to an ordinary pirate. How incredibly boring.

But, this unruly brigade did offer something for her. This city looked promising, full of gold just begging to be stolen. If she was lucky, she'd get the money to build a new Mantilla, and roam the seas once more.

However... that wasn't the only thing Jolene was looking for.

"She could be here..." she muttered to herself, but the chill in the air felt far too cold. Her darkened skin didn't seem like they'd be one native to anywhere around this area, tanned from the sunny regions of the tropical islands that were certainly far south of here.

Black eyes were outlined with heavy eyeliner, curled whimsically at the end, as if the end of the span of a butterfly's wing, heavy luminescent green eyeshadow plastered over her eyelids, worn from the wind.

Golden armbands were attached just underneath her biceps, and around her wrists, matching a worn tan belt-sash that held up her green seabritches, a white and green top displaying a generous amount of cleavage to any onlookers. She wasn't particularly tall, standing at 5'6 (without her ponytail), but a perfect hourglass shape seemed to be working for her, shown off with a bare midriff.

"Brrrr..." she shivered as she hopped off the side of the airship and onto the ground, which resounded with an unexpected splat.

"Eh?!" Jolene exclaimed, looking down at her feet, which were now buried in mud and damaged crops. She grimaced, moving with high knees to relieve herself of the mud that now caked her shoes and ankles.

Getting dirty wasn't much of a problem, but she did miss the salty water that she felt home in.

As she got herself out of the mud, she lingered a moment, debating which way to turn.

"If there were a mermaid here... where would she be?" Jolene asked herself, before regaining her grip on her shamshir.

"Hey, what's a fine lady like yourself doing in a burning field like this?" The voice was as accented as it had been in the bar, and spoken with a tone mocking the dingy place to Jolene.

Caesar attempted to make the ensuing dismount from the upper decks look graceful. It was not; he stumbled slightly and ended up throwing a hand out behind himself to catch the side of the airship on the way down. The hand went through the sides of the vessel, breaking through the modern siding as if it were water. The metal was smooth and undamaged in its wake, but had still served to slow his descent to the point where he landed on his feet. Barely.

"That looks interesting." He gave a quick smile to Jolene before gesturing towards the dim buildings of Happy Resting.

"Hah, now that's more like it!" At some point, Cap'n Marius had ended up next to Jolene and Caesar. "Everyone ran off to the castle, but the real treasures... well, let's say I know what to look for. That's how this beaut was made." He tapped the side of the ship.

"Shall we go, then, ladies and gents?" Marius drew his cutlass with his left and rested it against his shoulder, while First Mate Kuji appeared silently beside him, glazed yellow eyes moving independently of each other in slow circles.
