OLIVER'S HEADQUARTERS  Hello, and welcome to my headquarters! I'm Oliver Wood: offeshial Quiddetch right-hand-man to Madame Hooch, and former Gryffindor Team Captain!
I suppose you're wonderen' what et is we do around 'ere! Well, my friend, thess is where you'll find the most recent announcements concernen' Quiddetch! As such, it's best to be checken' around 'ere often! You never know when a message might pop up. . . . Or won't you?
Aye! You will know, and I'll tell you how! En the "Subject," you'll find a date. That date will let you know the last time I've said somethen' en here! Not good at checkin' up on things? Best be keepen' your eye on that "Subject," line then!

The messages here will be also posted en the Great Hall and other such "open" places where you can respond with comments; but I want thess to be a thread where the messages can be properleh documented, and kept track of. Please keep your thoughts out of this thread. Thank you.

Posted: 2/02/08 Results Update! ANNOUNCEMENT RESULTS ARE COMING IN!
Great news! As of February 1st, the contests are over!
The Team Captains are sending Madam Hooch the final letters approving ALL the names of those who tried out PRIOR to February 1st, and their team positions! As soon as all the letters are in, the team information will be announced, along with the winner of the January 2008 Monthly Collectible Letter and the House that wins the points for getting the most applicants!
Thess does NOT mean try-outs are OVER! As a matter of fact, try-outs never end! Thess just marks the end of the pre-season try-outs, and your chance to enter the contests! En other words: The CONTESTS are over; the TRY-OUTS are NOT!
Good luck to the contestants/applicants! You've all done a remarkable job!

Posted: 2/13/08 Trial Game Notice! ANNOUNCEMENT Oh my! Et's been a while sence my latest report! Time to fell you en!
First of all, ALL OF THE PRE-SEASON try-out applicants 'ave been posted! We offeshally entered the Quiddetch in-season! Look HERE to see if you made the team!
Just because we're en the in-season doesn't mean you can't try-out! Try-outs never end! We need all the help we can get! Find try-out information HERE.
**CAPTAINS: Should you have someone try-out for your team, owl (PM) Madame Hooch (xTahirux) with the applicant's username and position ASAP!
Alright, second bet of information. We have a new QUIDDITCH CALENDAR! This is our offeshal Quiddetch Calendar! It well inform you of upcoming events ect.! Check it often! (The times posted en the calendar are according to London, UK time. Just for fun.)
The date for the TRIAL GAME ez already posted! The Trial Game will take place on Sunday, February 17th at 2:00 a.m. London, UK time!
Other than that, the rule book ez bein' perfected, and should be ready for testing on the 17th!
The game on the 17th ez a Trial Game, meaning: The rules will be observed and enforced, but team mates will not be penalized. Thess ez a LEARNING EXPERIENCE. Madame Hooch will watch over the game, and kindly let you know when something has been done incorrectly.
Et ez NOT required that everyone ez en attendance at the Trial Game; but I advise as many that are able to attend to do so. Instructions for joining will be in the first post of the Trial Game, and we will create two meshed-house teams. (Thess ez just for the trial game. Regular games will have separate-house teams.)

Posted: 2/17/08 Re-Scheduled! ANNOUNCEMENT Oye! Bad news! Madame Hooch has forgotten to update the Concerning Quiddetch thread, and, therefore, the Trial Game will have to be delayed!
The Concerning Quiddetch thread, is currently being turned into the official set of rules, and will need to be completed before the Trial Game can take place. It's being re-constructed as we speak!
The new date of the Trial Game will take place this Saturday, February 23rd at 1:00 am London, UK time!
Please forgive the delay! Look at it this way: The rulebook will be complete, and you now have a sufficient amount of time to prepare and schedual for the event!

Posted: 2/23/08 Rescheduled Again! ANNOUNCEMENT Alright. More frustraten enformation: The Trial Game, again, needs to be rescheduled. Madame Hooch been unexpectedly invited to see a play production of "Little Witches" with some old friends of hers during the previous time of the game.
It is necessary that she is present. Therefore, the new date of the Trial Game will take place this Monday, February 25thd at 1:00 am London, UK time!
Again, forgive the delay. The rule book has been officially completed, so Madame Hooch expects the players and Captains to heavily study the rules during her absence.
Please forgive! I'm just as anxious for Quiddetch to get started!

NOTE: Should not enough people show up this time around, the Trial Game may be cancelled all-together so we can get started on the REAL games!

Posted: 3/29/08 Official game preparations! ANNOUNCEMENT MADAME HOOCH HAS RETURNED!
We won't be going into unnecessary details, but you all may 'ave notessed Madam Hooch's absence. She would like me to convey her senserest appologies, an deepest regrets; but her absence could not be avoided.
The Muggle society has been harder than you can imagine on Madame Hooch, and that's all she'd like to say on the matter. She hopes you understand.
Rest assured she's definitely not goin' anywhere. What weth all the work she's put into Quiddetch, she's not about to drop it any time soon!
Oye! We can't be waisten' anymore time mopen' about! We haven't even had our first Quidditch game yet! I've got a surprise for ya! The current game date for the first game has been announced!
The Gryffindor vs. Slytherin game will be held on Saturday, April 5th at 6:00 pm London, UK time!
Now, looken' at how badly the Trial Games have gone, I think I best be reminden' you of a few thengs:
1.) Please show up to the games, and on time! If you won't be able to make it to a game at all, let your Captain know so he/she can make the proper preparations! And if you need help calculating the time zone, GET IT so you won't be late!
2.) I plan on putting all the games on weekends. This should make the unavailibility problems a bit less. I'll avoid Fridays (because those are "party" nights,) and I've decided to keep Sundays off-limits; so Saturdays will be the main days. Weekdays may pop up occasionally, but I'll avoid it.
3.) Finding where the game is held is not that difficult. The game threads will be posted in the Guild main forum. If you still can't find the game, look in My (Oliver's) Headquarters in the Quidditch Pitch subforum! I will always post a game announcement with a link to the game thread in various places within the guild, but definitely at my headquarters! Look for it there if you can't find it anywhere else!
Madame Hooch would like to personally thank those who have hung in there all thess time! It's been hard for her, and she's appreciative to those who have been willing to help! Thank you, and let's make this first game one to remember!

Posted: 4/5/08 Canceled Game! ANNOUNCEMENT Good afternoon . . . "OMG! AFTERNOON!? What happened to the Quidditch game?" I'm sorry to inform you, but the official game had to, yet again, be rescheduled. We have not heard from the Gryffindor captain, and the Slytherins were unavailible.
Now now! Don' get apprehensev! Thess happens! Et's all a part of Quiddetch, an' somethen' I understan'! Let's 'ave some patience.
Therefore, the Gryffindor vs. Slytherin game will now be held on Saturday, April 19th at 6:00 pm London, UK time!
Thess gives captains, members, an' everyone else TWO WEEKS to prepare! It would have scheduled it for next weekend, but Madame Hooch will be in Romania participating in a two day Quidditch Rally.
In the mean time, Madame Hooch is setten' up the Qiddetch newspaper auditions, structure and more! She appologizes to those who were eager to see these up this last week, but we've run into the need to discuss the idea with mods and headmasters. These will be worked out as soon as possible!

We've got a new TIME ZONE CONVERTER which will make coordinating the game time to your time zone even EASIER! Please take advantage of thess site, and don't be late to the game!
The PITCH for the game has been created, but is NOT open for posting until 6:00 pm London, UK time on Saturday! Thess is where the game will be held!
As you know, both the captain of Gryffindor, SuperKoolPartyGal101; and Slytherin, Garnet17th; will not be availible during this game. I've received the names of the Slytherin and Gryffindor Co-Captains, but have not heard back from them:
Slythering Co-Captain: xx_0PHiiUCHA (Will be a Chaser)
Gryffindor Co-Captain: Aquajade (Will be a Seeker)
If any of thess information is incorrect, please let Madame Hooch, (xTahirux), know ASAP!
As Co-Captains, you are responsible for ensuring as many team members as possible turn out for the game, as well as preparing them for it. PLEASE get your team practiced and ready for the big day! Posted: 4/28/08 Latest Announcement! ANNOUNCEMENT Well mates, it's come to it. We need to make serious changes to the way Quiddetch is played. Don't be alarmed! Thess is a good thing! We're always open to experiment! It may be a good year or so before Quiddetch is perfected!
These are some of the changes we have in mind:
1.) This has already been put in affect, but not enough to get et goin'. GAMES COULD LAST FOR AN ENTIRE WEEK DEPENDEN' ON HOW LONG IT TAKES FOR SEEKERS TO CATCH THE SNETCH! No, it certainly wouldn't be played all at once! It's going to happen over an extended period of time, and the next change will explain how.
2.) Games will be played out much like the Yule Ball lass year. The game well be opened at a certain time, an' players may come, post an' go as they please; and at any given time. The onleh rule that would be applied would be that no one may post twice en a row.
Now, thess requires players to be VERY patient with one another. If a person is not able to respond to your post, you'll have to either wait for them to respond, or address an entirely different person (depending on the circumstances).
This also poses reason to an unfair advantage. . . . Or so you may think. Players on opposing teams will not be able to progress without members of the other team. Members may take as long, or short, as they'd like to post. (Well, there WILL be a certain time limit, but a fair one). It should all work out just fine.
The game will start, as usual, weth Madame Hooch tossen' up the quaffle, and the first person to answer the question correctleh well gain possession of it! Start times will vary.
Please let Madame Hooch know your thoughts/ideas on these subjects HERE. These have alreadeh gone under a great deal of discussion, but help us work out the kinks!
Now, don't thenk I've forgotten the Newspaper! I know that's been held off quite a bet, but Madame Hooch has been particularleh busy worken' out the problems with Quiddetch. She would like to thank you for your patience! It will be here eventually!
