Intro ● Navigation ● Miharu Gozen ● Artwork ● Acquaintances ● Personal Belongings ● Notes ● RP Log ● Lyrics ● Credits Name: Miharu Gozen (美晴 御前) - translates to "beautiful clear sky" Age: 20 Gender: Female Stage: Shirabyoshi Height: 5' 4" Birthdate: April 16th Romantic Interest: "I... do not know who you are speaking of. >///<"
Roleplay Color: Palevioletred
Personality: Demure. Professional. Resolute. One of the quieter women of the Imperial court, Miharu generally does not create enough of a wave to be noticed, and in many cases, this is a good thing. She rarely speaks out of turn, or unless absolutely necessary, for she's satisfied with observing others and keeping her candid thoughts to herself. The shirabyoshi is, however, well-admired for her poetic and artistic creations when she decides to display them, rather than for her equally powerful court performances. A fine, studious pupil (and now instructor) in the academy, Miharu continues to hone her skills through long hours of practice and study. Don't let her quiet nature fool you; her sharp eyes should be evidence enough of her intelligence.
Her one shortcoming as a shirabyoshi, and possibly one that she cannot control, is that she fails to look like a male. Even in full shirabyoshi costume amongst others of her work, Miharu will be singled out as the one who is "definitely female". She doesn't fully know it herself; it's perhaps the way she walks, the way she talks, or even the way she doesn't talk and hides shyly behind her fan at the interests of a boisterous male... but this woman does a poor job convincing others that she's a cross-dressing performer. There's just something decidedly feminine about Miharu.
Miharu very much separates work from play, though for her, work is most of the time. When she's at ease with close friends, one will find a profoundly different person, capable of things that the shirabyoshi-Miharu would never dream of doing. That's not to say that her shy persona in the court is entirely fake—Miharu still likes to make sure her sparse words are concise and necessary—she'll just tell you more of the truth this time around. This Miharu is rare to find unless she trusts you or is loosened by drink. All the same, Miharu is loyal and eager to please; the difference is that when you befriend her, she won't tell you what you want to hear to make you happy, like she does with her clients. She'll be honest.
History: Miharu was never well acquainted with her parents. Her mother, Hidaka-hime, was unable to support this child born of improper liaison, so despite Miharu's noble birth, she was thrust into the world of shirabyoshi. Miharu does not know the identity of her father, and her inquiries as to his origin have remained mostly unfruitful, save for the discovery that he too was a nobleman. Eventually, Miharu ceased to care about this unknown father as her shirabyoshi studies increased in intensity, but also because it always seemed to further pain Hidaka-hime to attempt to speak of him. Miharu had always assumed that her mother's chronic depression was because of her newly-impoverished status; she never guessed that it may have had to do with her father.
Hidaka-hime died shortly before Miharu became a Shirabyoshi. To be further revealed through roleplay! ;]

Shizuka Gozen - I think it is very safe to say that Shizuka-san is my friend. It is often difficult to find each other outside of performances, but when we are together, we are... quite the dynamic duo. I feel my guard slipping a bit further every time I am with her, which makes for interesting conversation with our clientele, but so far it doesn't seem to have hurt me—it is a world of good.
Sasaki Raiden - For one reason or another, I always seem to be running into this samurai! I encountered him first in the gardens, and since then he has been everywhere. Raiden-san is quite unlike other samurai with whom I am acquainted; instead he is rather gentlemanly and, I believe, truly follows the code of bushido. I find that I rather do enjoy his company...
Ebisawa Katsuhige - I met him once, dining before a performance. He seems a dignified samurai, but Shizuka-san does not appear to care for him. I am not sure why, though I certainly understand her reasoning. Perhaps I may never truly know, for he has left the court. Inoue Ayame - I stumbled into this student while returning to my room one late night. I was rather peeved that day, and it seemed that she was, as well. When Soya-san came along, Ayame-san was quick to play the bully. It reminds me of my student and maid days, which I rather dislike, but I've only met her once...
Katsura Soya - I see this maid quite often, considering the size of the palace and the imperial grounds. She doesn't appear to be the forward type, which earns her my empathy. I quite like her. Perhaps we will develop a more sisterly relationship in the future.

Listen here: ●
I’ve become very good at talking No matter how drunk the listener
I’ve become very good at talking When I remove my rouge, I know
When I came to this city, chasing after him I still only used one layer of rouge, the color of light cherry Chasing after him, never finding him Eventually, I got used to crying
I’ve become very good at faking laughter Even to people with whom I can never become intimate I’ve become very good at faking laughter When I remove my rouge, I know
For all my life I wanted to travel like a migrant bird Without knowing how to grow wings I notice what the mirror has forgotten, the color of light cherry I laugh at the strange color I’ve become very good at faking laughter When I remove my rouge, I know
