Name: Ylaine Nickname(s): Lainey Species: Preborn human Nationality: Gaian Birthdate: December 25. 2007 Birthplace: The Lab, Gaia Occupation: student (unwilling)
Physical Data - Age: ~9-13 - Height: - Build: slender - Hair: none; wears various wigs - Eyes: dark violet - Skin: medium pale - Attire: prefers very girly clothes, "pretty" things with lace and ribbon and frills; also a fan of 60s mod styling - Distinguishing Characteristics: exposed brain
Personal Data - Hobbies: gambling - Likes: fashion, cleanliness, oragnization - Dislikes: sentimentality - Favorite Color/s: soft pink - Favorite Food/s: - Sexuality: heterosexual - Religion: atheist - Politics: - Education: Liberty Center; currently Level 3
Personality: Ylaine seems to resent everyone and everything. She hates being treated as a child, but since she looks like one for all intents and purposes, she constantly feels like she isn't being respected and treated as equal to the adults around her. She views her life as a constant struggle for recognition. She has a rather short temper and is easily ticked off by very small things; there seems to be no detail she is above scrutinizing. Naturally, she hates being scrutinized and is quick to lose her temper when others criticize her. While she constantly claims she ants to be treated as an equal, what she actually desires is to be treated as a better. Given that she knows every fact in the universe, it seems only right to her that she be listened to. After all, she knows everything, right? _____Socially, Ylaine is not very adept. She puts too much emphasis on factual knowledge and ignores experience and wisdom. She genuinely feels she does not need other people, and while she could certainly get along without them, it is only by ignoring her own feelings and emotions and resigning herself to a cold fate that such a thing is possible.
Background: Born in the Lab, Ylaine's first major struggle came in learned to talk as quickly as possible to tell the lab technicians she was not just some idiot baby but a fully-formed intelligence. She became the legal ward of Greyhaven Taylor, member of the Lab's board of directors, but refused to take up residence in Grey's home, instead demanding a home of her own. As a compromise, she was installed in the hotel, where she has her own quarters but lives surrounded by others.
Special Skills: Ylaine knows every fact there is to know. Street names in every city of the world, dates of birth and death and weddings, the full text of every book that has been printed, the names and catalogue data of all the stars, social security and credit card numbers of every man and woman, dead or alive, the human genetic code, all the top song lists and dates of release, the barcodes of all the toys in the store, all the Jeopardy questions and answers aired, every little bit of data no matter how trivial or small. What she lacks, however, is understanding. She can tell you when and where and how, but it's all just facts. To her, the data has no importance. She cannot connect the dots between these facts and the reasonings behind the events, or the human emotions connected. If you asked her about the Holocaust, she would tell you how many people died, where the events took place, but if you asked her how she felt about it, she would not have an answer. To her, it's just information. It's clinical facts. She is also apparently incapable of displaying pain. She can feel sensations, registers them in her head, but does not equate these sensations with a need to yell or cry. Things hurt, but she does not consider them painful. Weaknesses: As above, Ylaine knows everything, but she doesn't truly understand it. It's all abstract to her. She is rather uncreative and has trouble with things like art and music and creative writing. She can copy a piece of art someone else has done, play the notes of a song, recite Shakespeare, but she cannot draw you a picture of her family, make up her own little tune, or write her own story. That said, it's something she's fully able to learn given enough time. She does possess a powerful personal voice, but there's a mental block in place when it comes to translating her voice creatively. Ylaine can also be so reserved around others she comes off as shy or icy. People to a large extent frighten her. Not in a panicky or terror-inducing way (those are emotions Ylaine seems to lack). She just worries all the time about what people think of her and about being seen as a freak. She has trouble opening up or trusting others because of this. Expect her to have few friends, and to never be the one to initiate the friendships.

~ the people closest to and most important in Ylaine's life ~ sam london A normal man who was leading a normal life until extraordinary things started to happen to him. Sam seems to have been the recipient of an ancient and powerful curse. Things go awry around him without apparent reason and scarcely a day goes by without something unusual and often disastrous occurring. Machines breaking, electricity going out, things catching on fire and leaky faucets -- Murphy's Law is in full effect around Sam's person. He's currently employed as a secretary at the Forensics Lab, where he spends most of his day fighting a losing battle with the photocopier. He also makes the worst pot of tea anyone has ever tasted. Relationship to Ylaine: Sam is Ylaine's friend, the first person to ever look at her and not see a freak of some kind. He was the first person to ever try and befriend her, and while perhaps under different circumstances Sam is a person Ylaine would hold in low regard, she values the fact that he reached out to her during a troubled time of her life and has always supported her no matter what, even when she was wrong. grey One of the Ems, Grey is generally regarded as more sedate and mature than the average, which puts her into something of an unofficial leadership position. She is among the overseers of the halfway house, though she is not in residence there. An agapeta, she lives with her husband James in a spacious house with too many stray cats and a vast library of first editions. Grey is noted for her sly humor and observational skills, picking up on small clues in events and situations others do not notice. She is also one of the more watchful imperators and is often called on for help by praetors. She dispenses excellent advice to her fellows and is an understanding ear in conversation. Relationship to Ylaine: Grey is the person considered officially responsible for Ylaine, though it's more in a legal sense than a true guardianship. Her duties include checking in on Ylaine periodically to make sure she's doing alright and help her with things she might want or need. james taylor A 19th century gentleman, James is an exceptionally private person who keeps much of his life to himself. The only person he truly opens up to is his wife, Grey. To others, he seems only to be a kind, respectable person, gentle but aloof. His great love is for baking, and he supplies the halfway house with a variety of breads, muffins, and other baked treats on a daily basis. He prefers to bake with period tools and has issues with modern technology. He is an accomplished dancer and plays the accordion. In public, Grey is always in charge, but in private, James is the leader of their partnership. Relationship to Ylaine: James could be called a concerned acquaintance of Ylaine's. He checks in on her a bit more often than Grey does because he's at the motel on a daily basis, and Ylaine can relay messages through James to Grey when she needs something. Ylaine is ambivalent about James. He's kind to her because he feels sorry for her, and Ylaine does not wholly approve of this, but she appreciates the fact he takes time out of his day to give her breads and cookies and say hello. pavel antipovFormer Communist revolutionary, Pavel is Director of Intelligence, a post he only recently retook after a break of some months to play trains with his friend Nikolai in the city of Grehaven and go ice fishing on the frozen tundra. He occasionally stays a night in the halfway house, and is one of its overseers. He changes residences often. In the past year, he has lived in an abandoned Greyhaven house, an igloo, a tundra hut, and presently calls a small Seattle apartment his home. He is dating a college freshman named Bethany whom he met in a bookstore. His best friend is Dr. M. He is the founder of the Imperium's hockey league and always takes vodka in his coffee. Relationship to Ylaine: As one of the motel's overseers, Pavel has an official responsibility for Ylaine, but they have a bit of a friendship on top of that. Pavel is the first person to treat Ylaine the same as anyone else, not really caring that she's physically still a child and that her appearance is odd. He's a person Ylaine can talk to fairly openly and share opinions with. They don't spend enough time with each other to be consider true friends, but they are more than acquaintances. reginald thrashReginald is head of the Mage Council. He grew up in a respectable wizarding family, but he and his two brothers made no end of trouble for the neighbors with their antics and fighting. Reginald is a naturally gifted wizard, undisputedly the most powerful in the British Empire's many worlds, and he won the title Court Magus and served the Queen for several years. His somewhat controversial partying attitude was problematic, and he eventually abdicated the title, which was then won by his less-talented but harder-working older brother Simon. His younger brother Gideon is a successful and famous actor. Reginald has a Bachelors degree in Mathematics, which he uses in his magical theory and application research. He has somewhat settled down from his youth, with a wife, Molly, and a young daughter, Veronica, but he still loves to explore and have adventures and get himself into trouble when the chance arises. He's otherwise a very good-natured and -humored person, ruggedly consistent and thoughtful. Relationship to Ylaine: Reginald first takes an interest in Ylaine as a representative of the Mage Council called on to figure out if her creation was due to some sort of magical interference in the cabbage patch. He finds Ylaine to be utterly facsinating, though he can be a bit condescending and doesn't always treat her with the same respect accorded adults. He is nevertheless an important advisor in her life, and the one who gives her the most aid with regards to the direction of her education. (Not that Ylaine always listens.) brahim & jalloun Brahim and Jalloun Fallali are identical twins. Born in Morocco, they learned to shoot at a young age and chose to work as professional killers when only seventeen. When they were in their thirties, Brahim was badly wounded in an explosion. The Imperium offered the surgery necessary to allow Brahim to return to work and the twins decided to make the Imperium their permanent employer. They have been with the Imperium for over a decade, serving as personal guard to the Empress. They are only very rarely seen apart. Jalloun is the more communicative of the two, speaking for both of them in most situations. Brahim's features are still heavily scarred by his accident and he keeps his face covered at all times. They can communicate in a private twinspeak. Brahim is considerably more religious than Jalloun and often goes to the mosque without his brother, as Jalloun finds religion unnecessary. Jalloun carries a L96A1 sniper rifle, a Heckler & Koch UMP-9, a Jericho 941, a machete, and several PietTech microgrenades of flash and full-force variety. Brahim carries a custom dual-cartridge PietTech SU-5 XP sniper rifle and a custom PietTech A-16HM blaster. Relationship to Ylaine: Brahim and Jalloun serve as half of Ylaine's first security detail. It's a purely professional relationship in that regard, but the brothers are also Ylaine's neighbors in the motel and in that capacity behave much the same as any other good neighbors. Ylaine and Brahim also develop a special relationship, not a friendship, but a mutual understanding, and that bond is important in Ylaine's life. benedict westcott-hollingsworth Gentleman adventurer Benedict Westcott-Hollingsworth currently lives in the halfway house while he waits for the love of his life, Lily, to return to him. Without her, his life is sad and lonely, and his depression at this point is so pronounced he has stopped making the effort of pretending otherwise. He can usually be found staring at the pages of a book with a cup of tea in the lounge. Relationship to Ylaine: Benedict interests Ylaine, enough for her to snoop on him and try to learn what precisely his deal is. She finds him revoltingly fascinating. iuri gavrilenko As powerful as the many mages in the Imperium are, the one who stands a head above the rest is Iuri Gavrilenko. He is simple the most powerful mage anyone has seen, anywhere, and he can command the forces of entire star systems, if not whole galaxies. He is also the laziest individual on the face of the planet, preferring to sleep all day and drink himself into a stupor during his waking hours, so the full extent of his massive powers has never been explored. He's very much a loner, hiding away in his cliffside castle for days on end, and he has difficulty with social skills and situations. He possesses an immense sadness obvious to all, but refuses to let anyone get close enough to heal the wounds of his heart, pushing people away at every opportunity. He could care less about magic and rarely uses it, but serves on the Council of Mages at their request, and very secretly is quite attached to his position. Relationship to Ylaine: Iuri happened to tag along with Reginald to meet the all-knowing Ylaine one day and was struck by the similarities in their childhood. He, too, was a lonely freak isolated by awe and wonder at his powers. Knowing what it's like, he's taken a personal interest in Ylaine's well-being as a mentor, when she bothers to listen to anything he has to say. He doesn't really mind that she doesn't listen. He's just comforted by the fact that there's someone else in the universe who shares his loneliness. harry lindsay Currently employed as a bodyguard, London-born Harry Lindsay has had more than his fair share of violent careers. He grew up in a lower-class neighborhood and associated himself with the local crime bosses, working as a low-level thug. Eventually, he gravitated to more important but equally violent positions, until he was shot in a police raid on a money laundering operation in Los Angeles. Though he's rather crude and course and by his own admission a bit stupid, Harry's friends will remark on his good sense of humor, easygoing attitude, and surprisingly quiet behavior. He's not a man who feels he has to prove himself or show off. Though violence is a part of his profession and he occasional brawls in bars for fun, Harry rarely loses his temper and never uses violence in anger. He lived in the States for some eight years before his death, but never got a driver's license there or in England. Says Harry: "You don't need a license to drive, you just need a car." Harry has an obsession with American cop movies and grew up emulating the actors, resulting in a much diminished British accent. He loves it when his British friends say he sounds American, though his American friends rarely share the sentiment. Harry carries a Smith & Wesson Model 29 .44cal Magnum, Relationship to Ylaine: At present, Harry is just one of Ylaine's slightly more annoying neighbors. He has more of a relationship to Sam, whom he likes to tease good-naturedly. More or less.

~ others Ylaine interacts with frequently ~ edward m. autryEd Autry is a very important person in the Imperium. Vice President of Weaponry & Arms for PietTech, he's well-connected and generally well-regarded, even if he's not the nicest or friendliest person. Canadian-born, he grew up mostly in Australia and Europe. His penchant for crime emerged at an early age, culminating in a career as an international arms broker and drug smuggler for the Mafia and associated agencies across over a dozen European and African countries. He was either shot in a Parisian airport trying to flee authorities for his involvement in terrorist bombings, or killed in a bus accident in Vancouver visiting his sister. Only after his death was he able to come out of the closet. He currently lives with boyfriend Caleb Manchester, the Nazi-born superpsychic. Autry loves classic French cinema, especially Truffaut, and had he not fallen into a life of crime would probably have become a movie critic. Ed carries a Sig-Sauer P226 X-Five, a custom Beretta 92FS Gold Deluxe, and a Sphinx AT2000. Relationship to Ylaine: Ed is Harry's boss, and someone who hangs around the motel sometimes because he considers many of the residents there "his" people -- criminals of class both high and low. He sometimes likes to play cards at Emerson's table, though he's not much of a gambler. percival prowleyFastidious, tidy Percy was trained as a butler and worked as a valet in 19th century England, but is currently employed as Assistant Principal at the Liberty Center, where he manages all the files and administrative tasks. He is Reginald's best friend. Relationship to Ylaine: It's not quite right to say that Ylaine and Percival get along. More like they agree to let one another exist in roughly the same universe. Ylaine thinks Percy is a know-it-all who knows next to nothing, and Percy thinks much the same of her. They can tolerate one another quite well, they just prefer not to. Ylaine and Percy try to keep their dealings on a purely professional level involving the Liberty Center (where Percival is Assistant Principal), but they are both fixtures in Reginald's life. emerson thweatt Living with one foot constantly in the grave, you will not meet anyone more depressing and morose than Emerson. He has known a life of tragedy from a young age. Dead parents, sister, aunts, and more, Emerson has come to view his life with grim hopelessness and spends most of his time waiting to see who will be the next to die. When other denizens and visitors heard about this, they mistook it for a gambling proposition, and Emerson became a bookie. He has since made a real career out of it, expanding from his "death pools" into sports betting and card games. He runs a nightly poker table in the lounge. Relationship to Ylaine: Emerson doesn't much care for Ylaine, but then, he doesn't much care for anyone. He thinks she's a bit too good with her statistics so he tries to keep her away from his gambling operation. Outside of this, they might be considered incidental acquaintances. kenyon lagrange A former mercenary, Kenyon is a quiet, somber man who avoids conflict but is hardly afraid of it. Disciplined and principled, he is sometimes at odds with the racket his neighbors make, but has learned to tolerate it up to a certain level. He's seen as the angry brooding type, the quiet person who lets his anger bubble up to a boiling point and then explodes. This usually involves him bursting into a room and disconnected the stereo system from the wall at two in the morning. Kenyon's role is sort of "group moral compass," preventing others from doing anything too detrimental to the group as a whole. He is currently a part-time security officer, spending the other part of his time training as a medic. Relationship to Ylaine: Kenyon is someone Ylaine likes, and even develops a crush on. He's a good listener and a dependable person, and he holds Ylaine in good regard for her level of maturity. philemon lagrange tarquinia d'ardea A member of the royal Jacks, Tarquinia has spent her life playing in the boy's club, but she's 100% woman. Coy and flirtatious, she backs up her sweet face with top-notch fighting and shooting skills and can hold her own in any drinking game. She has nerves of steel, a sharp mind, and an even sharper sword. She's intensely loyal to her friends and will protect the innocent at any cost. She's also known for her daring sexual exploits. Most women tend to look down on this aspect of her personality, so she has few female friends. Openly bisexual, she's a frequent visitor to the hotel, but never a long-term resident, and is usually gone by the morning. miguel laroux A knight from the Basque region, though not Basque in ancestry, Miguel decided to shirk his duties during the Spanish Inquisition and head for the hills to fight bandits instead. He did a good job of it, too, until the Inquisition came calling and he decided to abandon Spain altogether, trekking to the Mediterranean and crossing over to Africa. He wound up making his way to Jerusalem and converting to Islam. He died at some point, wound up in the Imperium, and was killed again during an altercation with Deity Command. He was brought back at the Second Conference. Presently, he makes a bit of a career as an explorer in the Wilds, but mostly is trying to figure out how he fits into the Imperium given how much it has changed in his five years of absence. He's a good cook and can somewhat frequently be found wearing an apron around the kitchen. He is good friends with Grey. Though not regarded as sociable or gentle, he cares about people and looks out for the more unhappy residents of the house, sometimes bringing them food or just sitting down beside them. He became a knight to protect people and still lives by this code. felonious A brigand, Seth Rollanos was tasked with infiltrating a monastery with the goal of stealing all its valuables. He spent five months getting to know the monks, learning the layout of the monastery, and cataloging their treasures. Then he let his fellow bandits into the monastery one night and they murdered the monks and stole everything. Unfortunately, this made the gods angry, and Seth was punished for his crimes with pains and fire. He was later relieved of his sentence at the bequest of a young acolyte he had abused (and whose life he had sentimentally spared during the massacre). Not that Seth had learned his lesson. He unrepentantly picked up his sword and returned to banditry. He is currently employed as a Black Hand Mercenary. He was nicknamed "Brother Felonious" or "Felonious Monk" for his misdeeds, and everyone simply calls him Felonious or Fel. Very secretly, Fel has discovered religion, and is studying the books of the gods who punished him. albemarle grunsparwa orvinquePickpocket and petty thief, Marlu hails from the Green Circle Protectorate. His parents were nobles, but he was a constant disappoinment and gave up their way of life as a teenager in favor of a life of crime. He then stole his parent's most precious heirloom, the Green Circle, and ran off from it, but the artifact turned out to be an item of great magical power, and Marlu became a target of agents of evil. With his friend Cecil, brother Aronnax, and paladin-barbarian Baramis, they made a stand against evil at the pinnacle of Snowy Peak. They were rewarded by the Goddess, and Marlu befriended one of the deity's mortal avatars, but had conflicts with her praetorian duties. These conflicts lead him to join Deity Command, betraying the Imperium. His friend Miguel was killed trying to stop him. Marlu was a prisoner of Deity Command for five years before he died and was brought back at the Second Conference, having repented for his mistakes. He is still widely viewed as a traitor. He frequently visits Miguel, who does not hold the incident against him. Marlu is also working to repair his relationship with one of the Goddess's avatars, Sunny. He plays Classical guitar and flute. rusak petrovich talietzinAlso known as the black Sword Captain. Rusak was born on a remote, isolated planetoid owned by his family and grew up hunting with his family's dogs and developing a killer's instinct. He sought a career in the military, where he struggled to assert himself amongst the majority genetically-modified humans. He eventually earned captaincy of a corvette, but the galaxy was at peace. He was blessed with the eruption of a war and quickly proved himself to be a decisive commander, seizing control of the main fleet when the admiral was killed. When peace was declared once again after only two years of fighting, Rusak, desiring more, refused to accept the peace treaty and went rogue, terrorizing half the galaxy until his senior crew mutinied and turned him over to galactic authorities. He was found guilty of war crimes and died during as escape attempt. He currently lives alone onboard a private space cruiser parked in nullspace, but he gets all his food from the motel, and is thusly a frequent visitor. He earned his nickname by beheading an insubordinate crewmember with a sword. He is somewhat farsighted and requires glasses for reading. Rusak has an identical twin brother named Lev who is as peaceful as Rusak is warlike. Most people avoid Rusak, as he makes it a point to be socially disagreeable. terry parsons The most important thing in the life of Terence Parsons is having fun, followed closely by talking. Every moment of his free time is spent pursuing leisure, whether it be at island resorts or the nearest open bar. Parsons knows how to party and never wants that party to stop. Professionally, he is a communications specialist, essentially performing the duties of an operator. He loves gossip and has been known to invent it if nothing juicy is available. Despite being a bit lazy, he's rather good at his job. Most nights he can be found out drinking and picking up women. He finds antisocial people absolutely fascinating and his current project is teaching Kagawa how to relax, have a good time, and relate to people. Though he can be annoying, he's genuinely kind, and is the one person foolish enough to try and engage some of the Imperium's most notorious grumps in conversation (but he draws the line at Tom Henry). He's actually very good at interacting with even antisocial people, being a keen observer of human nature and knowing when to pursue things and when to back off. More or less. satosuke kagawa kazuhiko yamida Yakuza heir Kazuhiko grew up learning the art of the sword and considers swords to be the most perfect and elegant weapons ever created. He has a collection of over six hundred. He worked for his family as a collector and occasional assassin, training to follow in his father's footsteps, but fate had other plans for him. He wound up in exile, becoming a member of the Imperium family, and served as an operative in the Intelligence division. He currently is between jobs, still deciding what path he wants his life to take. Though mortal, Kazu has deific abilities and has been learning to use them and explore this aspect of himself with the guidance of the praetorians. Whether he will take up the Grey Mandate remains to be seen; for now, he is focusing on his training, aiming to learn to wield his new powers as effortlessly as he does his swords. captain halk Captain Lars Halk remains haunted by haunted by the actions he was forced to take in the Human-Pretalian war. Possessed of a violent temper, he lives at the halfway house not by his own choice but for his own good. He originally hails from a subdimension of the Mirrorverse, and was recruited into the Mirrorverse's Triumvirate forces based on his wartime actions, but he proved uncooperative and was relegated to near-prisoner status. The Realverse praetors have taken him on with the hopes of rehabilitating him, but Halk is resistant to all attempts to help him. He believes himself irredeemable and is intent on convincing all others of this truth. tom henry gallagher Tom Henry Gallagher is a madman. He was a seemingly normal and sane (though somewhat abusive) lorry driver who was struck by lightning and developed strange psychic abilities and superintelligence as a result. He used this event as a catalyst to set up his own cult in the English countryside. Eventually, the British authorities raided the compound and shot him, and for reasons not yet fully made clear, he ended up in the Neighborhood, where he spends most of his time talking to imaginary people and torturing small animals. No one likes or trusts him, and with good reason. Since his arrival, he has tried to kill several people he felt annoyed him. Of course, security is a little too good, and he hasn't yet succeeded. He's a bit of a whiz with money and computers, and is tertially employed by PietTech as a broker of some sort, managing various funds and making loads of money for the company doing it. He then likes to gamble his share of the money, usually on sporting events and the death pool, as no one really wants to play poker with him at the table.

The Nexus/Halfway House/Miscreant Motel Situated in the middle of a network of transdimensional pathways, the Nexus has many names, but is mostly referred to as "Halfway House" or "Miscreant Motel." It is actually a grand hotel, with seemingly endless rows of rooms, and acts as a group residence for those members of the Triumvirate who for one reason or another have chosen not to take up residence in the more suburban Neighborhood. Many of the Nexus's residents are semipermanent, living there only sporadically or on an as-needed basis, but it is also a permanent residence for a number of people. While it is a hotel in configuration, the management conducts it more like an apartment complex. Rooms range from single beds to suites. The complex would seem to be only three floors high, with red-carpeted hallways and cream-colored walls. Plants and paintings enliven the corridors and gathering areas. The rooms are all pre-furnished with typical hotel-style furniture and appliances, though some longer-term residents have personalized their rooms with other furnishings. There is no official room service, but an outside maid service provides coverage for those who request it, usually on a weekly or monthly basis.
The main lobby area of the hotel serves several purposes. There are three meeting rooms of various sizes, a small library with more old magazines than books, a few sitting areas, and a kitchen and dining room. The kitchen and dining area are not staffed, food preparation being self-serve. This sometimes leads to an accumulation of dirty dishes by the less-responsible guests. The industrial-grade refrigerators are always fully-stocked. The front desk is not usually staffed, as anyone who wants to stay in the hotel already has a key for their own personal room, but occasionally a resident will staff the front desk, and even more rarely provide the usual hotel services to the guests.
One of the more popular spots in the lobby area is the bar, a somewhat dark space usually occupied late at night. It's used surprisingly responsibly by everyone. it's mostly a social meeting place for a quiet drink and smoke. It's seen as a part of home, not a place for brawling and shouting -- for those things, residents go to bars outside the Nexus, of which there are dozens available.
One unusual aspect of the Nexus is the absence of televisions. There is one in the lobby that gets an interdimensional weather channel and can be adjusted to get a few other stations, but aside from it there are no other sets, and television is not a major part of life.
All in all, the Nexus can be seen as a sort of cooperative, housing several members of the Triumvirate who are considered less desirable, and those who just don't seem to fit into the main neighborhood for one reason or another. Despite the somewhat outsider status of the complex, it still retains the sense of family innate to the Triumvirate, and the people there usually stick together and help one another out.
