Mudslide is a woman in her low thirties. She has a rare joint-element ability: that of controlling both water and earth. Her origins are known. A young teenager when her powers manifested, Jenny was immediately sent to a cruel detainment facility: the same one Flashcharge suffered in as a youth. She was there longer than him, and released near the same time... unlike him, she managed to avoid Charles' persuasion to join the National Supers Agency and instead went to seek her own life. She entirely failed at it. Grudge held and blame pointed, Mudslide has one very clear goal in mind: destroy her entire home city, both for giving her up to jail without cause and then for never allowing her to join back in. Mudslide is bent on destruction, and is determined that nothing will stop her.
The N. S. A. certainly hopes that Crossfade will do just that. And it now time for him to work his charm as Mudslide is on yet another rampage in the neighborhood where her best friend used to live. Good luck, young superhero, in your new home of California!

Sitting comfortably in a local cafe Erol Avery, now going under the codename Crossfade sat patiently while he sipped his latte. He had been briefed on the possible sighting of a villain type called Mudslide. Seemed she had dual abilities which would prove a challenge for Crossfade who had always been teamed with others (either on purpose or by accident). This would be his first solo run and he wondered if he could handle the pressure.
"You gonna be okay?" a familiar voice spoke to him from across the table.
"Yeah man, this is just a new stage for me is all. I got this." Erol spoke calmly but with a hint of cocky flair.
"Yeah right. You're shittin your pants right now..." the man spoke only smirking wickedly. "Look just don't get yourself killed out there or anything. I need you fit for this weekend we got an awesome gig set up at the Flamingo Grill."
"I said I got this. Trust me." He ignored the former jest. It was then the sound of screaming sailed on the wind announcing his guest for the evening. "Show time." he breathed getting to his feet as he downed the last of his latte. "Do me a favor Rayborn, get the hell outta here. I don't want that chick thinking she can use you as leverage."
Rayborn stood as well smirking lightly. "I'm outta here man, just get back in one piece, ya hear?"
"Got it." With the exchange of words Crossfade hurried out of the cafe and down the street where he could hear the most screams.
---- OOC: Wasn't sure how to start things so a local cafe scene was what came to mind.

Mudslide was doing her normal routine. Churning up the ground around her, pulling up the sewage water and using that to add onto the mess, picking up the mud and slamming it with hard force against buildings. And when she was done playing, she would take a whole crapload of the mud and slam it down on roofs, causing the weakened structures to cave in.
Fine control didn't seem to be Mudslide's strong point. Pure power and quantity were.
Erol had the great fortune of being at the place that she was now targeting. THAT cafe... THAT place where she used to...used to.... and now it wouldn't BE no more! Her rage built up as she neared, dirt and water mixing around her and propelling her forward. It didn't appear that she was even going to be playing this time around.

The first mistake was leaving the cafe altogether. As the screams grew and the sight of water, dirt and mud began to form he knew his target was near. Yet he had no idea where just exactly she was sitting to watch all the fun. It wasn't until he heard screams from the destination he had just been that his heart dropped. "Rayborn? Damnit..." he cursed and quickly did a 360 before finding himself rushing back to save his friend.
He was almost certain the other man hadn't left immediately. Rayborn was known for sticking around for a longer than expected.
And that's what he did as he was just finishing his coffee. "Ah..." he let out sitting back to enjoy the warm feeling that washed over him. The rumble of the earth brought him out of his reverie as he looked out the window. What looked like a mountain of dirt coming his way was definately something to be alarmed for. Jumping up he didn't have time to move and simply went under the table.
Crossfade on the other hand was running at top speeds transfering shockwaves to his feet to give him a little bounce to his step but he still had to work on that bit of ability. Even so he covered some distance and was on the woman with reasonable moments. "Damn is there a reason you don't like this cafe. What they serve you cold coffee or something?" He chimmed skidding to a halt in front of the place. He reach out his hands in unversal sign to stop. "I'm only gonna tell ya once, chill and lets see if we can come to some civilized solutions."

"NO!" Mudslide shouted. She raised her arms and immediatly another tidal wave of mud exploded just out of the ground in front of her. It stood tall for just a second before it came crashing down onto Erol and the cafe. She didn't know how the brat would handle it and didn't really care, but the cafe would go DOWN! She'd take them ALL down!

He had seconds to react before all of the mud engulfed him. Thinking quickly he shot a blast of shockwave energy through both his arms and slammed his fists into the ground. The pressure from the shock into the earth pushed him back like a bottle rocket as he went flying backwards toward an open street. People were already screaming and running about by then so the concern of being hit by a moving car was not that major even though he crashed himself into the windsheild of one currently.
He was rewarded with a sharp pain to his back as he looked up in enough time to find the cafe completely burried. "s**t! Rayborn!" He called out remembering his friend was still inside. He glared at the woman before him looking back at the cafe. Jumping up despite the pain he rushed forward throwing his shockwave energy at the massive accumulation of dirt and water. It did little more than shake up the debris, sending some mud in various directions but it was already too thick to do anything more than that.
Turning burning brown eyes upon the woman he shouted, "b***h what is your PROBLEM?!" He wasn't very aware of himself his concern on his friend. Again he used his bottle rockect technique to close the distance between them crashing into the woman and tackling her like a star football player. With little to no plan of action it was enough to be close to her for now...

Mud engulfed the both of them and piled on more and more heavily, slipping through everything and coming in between Erol and Mudslide. Mudslide was slowly sliding out of his reach, looking very pissed off at Erol, even as the mud pressed closer and deeper on Erol. It left no room to breath.

Erol panicked. With each second that ticked by he couldn't think of one coherent plan, one single inkling of an idea that would get him out of this jam. He took in a deep breath hoping it would be enough to find a solution to his delima, the mud caking around him, closed in fast but not before he noticed a phone pole hovering omoniously behind Mudslide.
Just as the last bits of mud closed around him, he concentrated his last efforts on breaking up the mud -- not around himself but underneath the pole. Wiggling and shaking it from its place in the earth, the eventually wobbled loose and feel foward toward the unsuspecting villain. Did it get her? Or would it fall, missing its target?

It didn't hit. Instead, another wall of a mud rose to block it, but went up with such force that the pole was splintered to shreds. Mudslide wasn't really one for finesse and the gentle refinements some others evolveds used. Instead, she just focused on power. The more of it, the better, and she was good at it.
The mud around Erol broke apart of its own accord, leaving him in the middle of it. Mudslide was now rising upwards, the mud beneath her carrying her higher and higher, until she was at rooftop level, looking down on her enemy.
"You stupid, stupid BRAT!!!" She shouted. "I'm going to KILL YOU!" She spread her arms wide, and the next moment, the entire ground exploded upwards, shaping itself into a brick-hard solid mud wall, which was swaying ominously. Mudslide was standing on top, the sun illuminating her from behind. Her eyes had taken on an even more ominous green glow, as had her fingertips. In that one moment she appeared to be a furious goddess of vengeance.
And then she threw her arms forwards and the mud wall eploded forwards, ready to fall down and crush everything in its path, with the same power, or even more, as that of a tsunami. The buildings closest to Erol were already engulfed and being splintered and torn down.
The power and speed of this thing was such that it couldn't be dodged by running or any other convential means. It would be upon Erol within four seconds of its release.
Mudslide was nowhere in sight.

The mud had fallen from around his person allowing the boy to breath easier, although he hacked up what bits and pieces of rock and mixed water from his lungs and throat. Eyes stinging from the mud he managed to wipe away the debris enough to get a look around.
Everything was covered in a sea of mud. His friend was nowhere in sight, likely dead by now... Erol froze. Looking not at Mudslide who was preparing for another attack but at the cafe of which his friend was trapped along with others.
His eyes could not see straight, only the fact that his friend was in danger. He noticed out of the corners of his eyes the walls of mud rising to the sky, looking behind him he saw Mudslide as she brought the walls down upon him. He would have no chance for escape and plans were little to nothing for him in his current state.
He turned agian looking at the trashed cafe... when he turned again Mudslide was gone, the wall falling at unmeasurable speeds. What could he do? What could he possibly do?
"I'm going to die, I'm going to die if I don't do something... I need power!" he screamed realizing this was a situation well out of his league, but he was given the job for a reason? Surely, he was capable of something... as all his thoughts raced, his heart thumping wildly in his chest, adrenaline high, he realized one thing. There was more riding on his success today then any other time in his life. Something he would not have if he didn't act.
It was with this realization that he blacked out. As he did, his unconscious mind kicked in, taking over usage of his powers in this life and death situation. He had no control over the events, simply put, his powers reacted to the urgent need for protection and the danger around him. They flaired to life much like they had the day when he had first discovered them in the mall.
A thunderous roar filled the air bouncing off buildings, trees, and any other obsticles in its wake, the muddy walls which were crashing down would meet against a vibrating force which pushed back with an atomic effect. Erol's eyes were hollow as was his conscious mind, he was not in control rather, giving himself over to his powers.
With the force of the muddy walls closing in around him, Erol's unconscious mind worked to push them back, jolting the solid walls with a vibrating force that cracked and tore at its weakest points. The ground shook under the boy producing a trimmers that fueled his runaway powers. If he wasn't helping he surely was destroying more of the surrounding area as buildings which had already taken a beating from Mudslide's onslaught, simply could not withstand the violent force of Erol's shockwaves.
With each rumble of earth under foundation another building met its end. Any wild life in the area had surely flown the cope as a murder of crows cawed, scattering the skies in their search for safer nesting grounds.
When all power was depleted a beaten and battered young boy lay in a heap of mud and debris. The shallow movements of his chest the only indication of his being breathing. However, movement from the cafe was a sign of good things, as a small group of survivors dug themselves out of the thick mud. Of the survivors was his friend, Rayborn.
[[Hmm.. maybe went over board but I was inspired, I guess. If you want me to edit let me know. But I just dont' see him being able to produce that much power consciously...yet. X3 ]]

Well, well, well.
Whether or not she had killed the boy, she had certainly met her goal, and Mudslide quietly retreated. What had motivated her to simply leave a target so easily taken was anyone guess, but that is exactly what the woman did.
It would take a good hour before any help was to arrive on scene, though when it did, a helicopter that said it was sponsored by the N.S.A. came to pick up Erol (and, if he insisted, Rayborn). They would take care of their supers in training.
OOC: *Whistles* Kuu? Was it you that wanted to switch sides? Perhaps we can have our chance for him to now if someone else picks him up, unless you wanted him to switch in a different way?

[[He could be offered in some way, this would push him in that direction, for being too weak to defeat her but he wouldn't jump on the chance right away. Something else would have to happen... but if you want to continue where she may ask him I have no problem with it.]]
