((For my Rina and Julie's Thea.)) Rina lay in a meadow, staring up at the stars. Night had fallen some time ago, yet she was still awake. Thoughts of her new tribe, and all the responsibility that come with it, filled her head, making sleep impossible.
On the morrow, she and her clan would begin their journey together, fulfilling both her need to wander, and her ever growing need for company.
Before, she had been perfectly content to wander aimlessly, spending days, weeks, months without seeing so much as a sign of another modifox. Now, though, the company would be welcome.
Still, her mind filled with worries. Had she really done everything she could to prepare her clan for their life of wandering? What if she tired of company, and wished to travel alone again? Would she be as good of a leader as brother, one of the elders of Lunarie?
So many questions, and only the silent night sky for answers.

"Oh!" Thea said, letting out a surprised gasp as she emerged in the clearing --finally-- only to see that there was another fox lying in the meadow. "I'm sorry. I don't mean to intrude..." she bowed her head; this fox was an Elder.
((I'm going to say that she has her tattoo; Sapphy just needs to put it in.))

"It is of no concern," Rina said, rising to face the newcome modifox.
By the pale light of the moon, Rina could see white fur, covered with what looked to be splashes of paint--she knew this from the time she had been considering joining the Sanguine Syndicate--and, most, interestingly, a tattoo of a dragon and moon. The tattoo of the Lunarie tribe, brother's tribe.
"Welcome, member of the Lunarie tribe. I am named Rina, elder of the Gypsy Clan."
She wondered if brother spoke to the tribe about her. They were not siblings by blood, and so it would be nearly impossible for this female to know that she and Ari considered one another siblings--the only similarities they bore were white and blue fur, and even the shades of those did not match.
Still, it did not matter. He was her brother in truth, if not blood. He had been there for her when she was little, and that was what truly mattered.

Thea nodded and padded softly over to the Elder. "I am Thea, Carer for Lunarie. Nice to meet you, Rina," She said, bowing her head once again. She came and sat by the Elder, gazing up at the stars. "They're beautiful, aren't they?"

"Indeed they are." From what little Thea said, Rina supposed that Ari had not told the tribe about her, his sister. That was understandable, as she had nothing to do with the tribe, and saw brother so little now.
Still, she did wish he had seen fit to give some small mention of her existence.
"Brother did seem sad, when I told him I was not called by the night and the moon as he was."
Well, if brother would not mention her, then she would mention him.

Thea tilted her head. Brother? "You are Ari's sister?" She didn't know Ari even had a sister... "I suppose I can see the resemblance," She lay next to Rina. "You shouldn't be upset he hasn't mentioned you. He's had....rather a lot on his mind lately. If he came to me or Anja, perhaps we could alleviate some of his worry..." She trailed off, frowning at the ground for a moment, then shook her head. "He'll be fine soon. So, the Gypsy Clan, you say? Could you tell me what that's like?" She asked, looking with fascination at all the different jewelry Rina sported.

"If there is any resemblance, it is merely a coincidence. We are not related by blood," Rina corrected Thea.
"He has? What has been happening in the Lunarie Tribe?"
What little information she obtained about the Lunarie Tribe, and the lives of other settled modifoxes, came from those she encountered on her journey. As of late, she had not met anyone who knew much about the happenings in brother's tribe. And now, with what the carer told her, Rina was concerned for her brother.

Thea shrugged. "Lots of things. One of our members, Nako, he's mated to the daughter of the Elders of Bamboo, and they don't know yet, and Nako came to Ari. Ari couldn't consent because he didn't know if Kure and Panda-chan would allow it. Then the kits are growing up soon. Not to mention Kazuki ran off somewhere almost right after Sigal left," She sighed. "And, being carer, I could've told him that Kazuki was...err...expecting, but Kazuki wished I did not. He seemed very upset."

"There are kits in the tribe now? To whom do they belong?" Rina had never heard mention of kits in the tribe before, and she came to realize she had hardly spoken to her brother since he had begun his tribe. The name Kazuki sounded familiar, and she felt as if she ought to recognize it, beyond being the other elder of the tribe. There was something else about him...But she simply could not remember.
"Could you name all of the members of the tribe, please? I fear it has been so long since brother and I have spoken, that I am hardily familiar with any of the members, beyond those who belonged to the tribe since the beginning." She would mull over this Kazuki while Thea spoke, and perhaps his importance would come to her with time.

Thea nodded. "I'm afraid I don't know all the members, but I'll name all the ones I do know. There's Anjafey and Rendo, Amira, Nato, Shai, Nako, Kazuki of course, Michie, Yudoku, Kin'iro, Senka and Nuishan. The kits are just about to grow up; that's Yudoku, Kin'iro, Sieg, and two Nato and Amira children, Anaru and Mitora." She smiled. "Actually, I think that was all of them. And of course, Kazuki's and Ari's children, though I do believe they're either not born or still in BCRs." She paused. "I hope I helped you?"

Kazuki was brother's mate. Yes, of course, she shouldn't have forgotten something like that, even if it was slightly odd.
Still, it wasn't her place to judge. If brother was happy with Kazuki, then it didn't matter if he was a male.
And she didn't disapprove, exactly...It was merely that she had never ever heard of one male being mated to another before brother and Kazuki had become mates.
And now brother was having more children. She wondered how these new ones would get along with her nieces. They would most likely not see Twilight that often, if at all, but Sigal was staying with brother.
Then Rina realized that Thea had not counted Sigal among the tribe members. Surely all of the members of the tribe ought to know the child of one of the elders?
"What of Sigal? Has something happened to her?" Rina wondered, trying to keep fear from her tone. Surely, if something serious had happened, Thea would have mentioned it, would she not have?

Thea blinked. "Sigal?" She vaguely remembered the name; then it hit her. Ari's daughter. "I don't believe I've actually ever met her, but I think she visited just a while ago. I can tell that her departure has upset Ari." She paused. "But I don't think anything terrible has become of her. I'm sorry I can't be of more help."
All this talk of mates and children made her think of Shai, and how they hadn't spoken in...How long had it been? Thea didn't even know; and that scared her slightly. Would they ever have kits? Was he even it for a serious thing? Thea shook her had as if to clear it. Now was not the time to dwell on her problems.
"Yes, Ari has had quite a lot on his mind of late,"

So Sigal was no longer in the Lunarie Tribe, then. Rina felt almost an obligation to find out where her niece had gone.
Surely, if some catastrophe had befallen Sigal, Rina would have heard tell of it in some form: whether from an overheard conversation, or a mere rumor told to her by some acquaintance. She would hold fast to that conviction, until she was proven otherwise.
"Do you know what is troubling brother?" He was her elder brother, and as such, could care for himself. Still, she found herself fretting over what might be occurring to either him or his tribe. She truly ought to visit sometime, while she still had time; before she and her tribe departed.
"And what of yourself? It seems you have a lot on your mind as of now."
If Thea wished to answer the question, that would be fine. If not, Rina would not press. They were little more than strangers, after all. Their only thing in common: the tribe of her brother.

Thea shrugged slightly to both questions. "He was worried about Kazuki's disappearance, of course, but I've just been told that he's back. I'm very glad," She smiled. "I was right, he does have BCRs. Good, now I have a job," The smile lingered for a moment before deciding how to best answer Rina's question. "I am just thinking...Shai, he and I have a lot in common, and it seemed as though we were going to be mates, but since then I've barely spoken to him. It concerns me. Plus, there is some drama between one of my friends and fellow carers, Anjafey, and her now ex-mate Rendo. It seems Anja has met someone else. Everyone is worried about what Rendo will do; we don't know if he'll try to get revenge, try to sabotage the relationship. We just don't know," She frowned at the ground like it was it's fault, then relaxed, setting her head on her paws. "My brother, Sparkio, has been barely containing his temper these days. his daughter, my niece has fallen for a new member of our tribe, Sieg." She allowed herself a smile. "Lila is part of the Bamboo Tribe, but something tells me she does not belong there." Thea felt slightly better after...what was the word? Ah, yes, 'Spilling her guts' to Rina, but she couldn't shake the feeling of worry that was growing inside her.

Rina listened intently to what Thea had to say. Rina decided again she ought to visit brother one last time, before she resumed her life of wandering, now with a tribe following her.
Still, even before she was an elder, she could not help but feel as if she was trespassing on the grounds of tribes to which she did not belong. As an elder, the feeling was even more intense, although for reasons Rina could not quite place into words.
"Ex-mate? Such a split is permitted?" Rina had never before heard of such a thing occurring. Perhaps it was due to her solitary lifestyle, in which little news reached her, other than when she found those who were willing to give it to her, as now.
"You listed Rendo among the tribe members you knew. Do you know enough to at least guess what he might try?" Rina felt concern for brother, now. He had children again, and something that must surely be as complex as the split between Rendo and his mate, as well as one of the Lunarie members mated to...someone of importance in Bamboo: he did not need so many problems all at once.
Although, he had stepped forward for the position of elder. Perhaps he could not have anticipated such a situation as this, but surely he must have had some idea that being an elder would not be all peace and tranquility, as he might have wished.
He was strong, and would survive this, Rina was sure. Her concern was if she would be able to manage such a situation in her own clan.
"That is unfortunate for Lila, then," Rina commented on the only part of Thea's personal problems that she could. Rina had no experience with mates, or love, other than what she had seen from others. Perhaps it was not her fate to find a mate, or perhaps her mate was still out there somewhere, waiting to be found. Rina had no problem with either situation, and would not press the matter; desperately seeking a mate, as if survival without one was pointless, in Rina's eyes.
