I don't think there are any spoilers for the third series here, but if you don't want to know anything about the fourth, stay away! :B

It's like they know I'm losing faith.

IF this is true, it's yet another in a long line of good decisions regarding the fourth series. After an extremely disappointing third series, I'm worried about getting my hopes up too much, but let's see... Good things I've heard about the new series?
--The above
--Tate cast as the new companion
--Agatha Christie as the historical episode - I love her.
--Potential mixing-up of companions. The "one companion at a time" format is boing to me. D: I like them coming and going mid-season, makes it mess predictable.
--For the most part, the writer line-up is decent.

Bad things I've heard about the new series?
--What's-her-name who wrote the shitty Dalek episodes last season is writing more for this one.
--BOTH the potential returning retro villians disappoint me. I've never actually SEEN an episode with the Rani in it, but she's never interested me and there are obvious issues with her being a Time Lord and all, and although I loved Tom Baker's episodes with Davros (their conversations in Destiny of the Daleks was HILARIOUS), it would mean more Dalek episodes and they're just really boring. It would also mean an excuse for the Daleks to come back in full force.
--The Oods are coming back apparently. I'm not sure this is a bad thing, but I'm dubious about it. I loved those episodes and they worked great as vessels for the real evil, but I didn't love them as an alien species. They seemed sorta 2D on their own.

DISCUSS YOUR OPINIONS ON THIS NEW INFO AND THE FOURTH SERIES IN GENERAL. : D

Is it a rumor? It seemed pretty concrete to me.

The Ood thing is confirmed.

More potentially good news: it look like the Doctor is going to Rome. biggrin I'm really excited, since I'm currently on a bit of a Rome obsession thanks to I, Claudius. (Which I watched thanks to Derek Jacobi being on Doctor Who. How's that for irony?)

Bad news: fire. D:

Also

OMGDAVIDBOWIEWTF biggrin heart 4laugh I have no words for this amount of awesome.

Uh.....David Bowie was kinda before my time.....He used to creep me out as a kid. o.o

But yay to Agatha Christie and the Ood (I'm interested to know why they became a slave species).

Bowie's said (on his website) that the Sun article about him guest starring is "complete tish and tosh". I'm very sad about that.

Bummer that David Bowie's not gonna be on. Ah well... His music is kinda creepy but I loved him in Labrynth. biggrin

Yea.. I first heard about the doctor going to Rome when the Rome set burned (still wonder if they heard somebody playing a fiddle or lyre *lol*).

I've been into Roman history for a LOONG time. Im descended from most of the Emperors so the Doctor going to Rome is my family history. BUT what time in Rome??? Would be neat if it was during the time of Caesar or Constantine.

As for I, Claudius. I've seen a bit of that...but only cuz Patrick Stewart is in it. biggrin

Yeah, but since then a couple of his publicists have said he is. It always goes like this - celebrities are told not to let it get out that they're guest starring. So it's still possible. :B

David Bowie makes amazing music. I have every one of his albums. @_@ And Labyrinth was hilarious. I have the movie poster in my dorm. XD

Just the idea of Bowie in Doctor Who makes me giggle like a giddy school girl.

Call me a naive American, btu I have no idea who David Bowie is.
Rome is AWESOME (I take Latin in school)!
So is Agatha Christie!
But the Ood... I like them a lot, but come on. Planet of the Ood? Sounds really cheesy and dumb. Unless that's just the title. It better be good...
