Quil has a pronounced superiority complex when it comes to humans. And why not? They can't do half the things he can. And when fighting, they generally reduce themselves to their fists, tools like knives and guns, or more commonly, pull out their pokemon and have them battle it out. He's not very wrong when he thinks of humans as weak. As a result of his past experiences, Quil is very skittish around mankind, and trainers specifically, generally only tolerating the young or ernest. And even then, his tolerance is tenuous at best, until the human proves themself. Humans in any position of authority though, tend to find themselves on the wrong end of a mild flamethrower.

He is a very solitary creature, and it's uncertain at the best of times whether he wants company even from those pokemon or humans that he's decided he likes. When Quil is by himself, he is at his most serene. His natural aggression is slow to start up during these times, and he even seems oddly agreeable. Due to his behavior, Quil didn't spend a great amount of (friendly) time around pokemon in his Cyndaquil and Quilava stages. As a result of this, he often doesn't know how to act around other pokemon outside of a combat situation. So Quil is generally skittish even around pokemon who are being friendly, and may be dull or short in his speech. He constantly watches the pokemon he meets, to gauge their reactions to him.

Quil is very touchy about his strength, and constantly strives to be the strongest. He will gladly accept (and most of the time propose) contests and battles. And, although he is very strong, Quil possesses no common sense when it comes to the types of pokemon he fights with. He will just as gladly fight a Grass type as a Water type, and fight a weaker pokemon just like a strong one, using his full strength. Because of this, his wins versus losses is roughly even.

Under all the anger and touchyness, Quil is very loyal. If anyone can penetrate the defenses he's set up around himself, he will generally become an unshakeable friend or ally, refusing to believe anything ill-natured of whoever has won his trust. So far, no one has been awarded this kind of faith.

TYPHLOSIONS

Typhlosion (バクフーン, Bakufūn, Bakphoon
Japanese, Tornupto German)

-Name Meaning-
Typhlosion's name is a portmanteau of the words 'typhoon' and 'explosion' while the Bakphoon is a portmanteau of the Japanese word for explosion, 'bakuhatsu', and the word typhoon. The 'Typhlo' section of the name may come from Typho, which is Latin for smoke.

-Evolutionary line-
User ImageCyndaquil, (14) User ImageQuilava, (36) User ImageTyphlosion

-POKEDEX Entry-
TYPHLOSION obscures itself behind a shimmering heat haze that it creates using its intensely hot flames. This Pokemon creates blazing explosive blasts that burn everything to cinders.

User Image

Type: Fire
Species: Volcano Pokemon

Ability: Blaze
Height: 5'7'' (1.7 m)
Weight: 175 lbs (79.5 kg)
Egg Group: Ground
National Dex: 157
Johto Dex: 006
Hoenn Dex: 312
Sinnoh Dex: ?

-Weak Against-
Ground, Rock, and Water type moves.

-Strong Against-
Bug, Fire, Grass, Ice, and Steel type moves

-Biological characteristics-
Unlike Cyndaquil, Typhlosion bears no relation to the echidna, instead resembling something of a wolverine, although it shares its previous evolutionary characteristic of being capable of both bipedal and quadrupedal locomotion. Most Typhlosion reach the standing height of 5 feet, 7 inches- easily as tall as the average human. Its body is heavy, generally reaching 175 pounds. But despite that, it's capable of obtaining incredible speeds. The number of special vents it possesses has dropped to the row on its upper back; however, it can put forth a tremendous amount of heat. Typhlosion could also resemble a lion because of the ring of fire around its neck much like a mane. Typhlosion carries the same coloration of its lower forms. Its yellow fur is brighter than it is on Quilava, yet still duller than Cyndaquil. Its fur is incredibly coarse and somewhat shaggy, but it is still flame-retardant, giving it extreme resistance to heat and fire attacks. This may also be to keep it from injuring itself during battle when using attacks such as Flamethrower, or Flame Wheel. Typhlosion also comes in a rare maroon-coloured pelt as opposed to it's usual blue. It is currently unknown why the fur is colored this way, but the maroon-pelted Typhlosion is exeedingly popular among trainers who collect oddly colored pokemon. It also seems to have very sharp claws with which it can use Crush Claw.

Far more aggressive than either Cyndaquil or Quilava, Typhlosion are exceedingly hard to find out in the plains. They are a known cause of grassfires as the heat they expel is hot enough to cause the air around them to shimmer. It viciously assaults its opponents, reducing them to ashes from its incredibly hot fire.

Though not color-blind, Typhlosion have slightly poorer eyesight than Quilava due to smaller pupils. It makes up for this by possessing a keen sense of smell and remarkable hearing. Capable of moving equally well on either two feet or four, it can also make incredible leaps to attack opponents from above.[citation needed]In battle, this Pokemon uses stealth and cunning abilities to make the foe faint.

Typhlosion is currently the fastest documented pokemon in the Johto region, perhaps to make up for its strangely low defense.

-Special Abilities-
Typhlosion is rumored to have an instinctual attack that it uses as a trump card, known as Eruption. This attack is produced by a Typhlosion first heating its body, then rapidly rubbing its thick fur together. As of yet, few trainers have witnessed this monstrosity of offense; however, one would assume that sending it into a battle in which its opponent is equally as strong would cause a Typhlosion to use this secret weapon to end the stalemate - hypothetically, to its own advantage. When a Typhlosion's health drops in battle, the Blaze ability comes into play. This gives its Fire-type attacks a boost of 1.5 times their normal power. Due to a slight shortage of Defense, one would send Typhlosion into battle against a Pokémon which uses mostly physical moves if they hope to use Blaze's bonus to their advantage. It has high Special Attack stats, making it a good choice to teach TMs that contain Special moves.

-Diet-
Typhlosion have several sharp canine teeth along their gumlines, suggesting a carnivorous diet. As many Fire-type moves, especially ones that are powerful in battle are best used in Beauty Contests, a Typhlosion that is good for contests would specifically be one that likes dry flavors.

-Other-
•Male Typhlosions outnumber female Typhlosions 87.5% to 12.5%.

•Typhlosions make their homes along mountainsides and heated grasslands. They are rarely found in the wild because of the fact that they roam mountains, grasslands, and active volcanoes in search of powerful opponents. The majority of Typhlosions are evolved from Cyndaquil and Quilava that belong to trainers.

PAST

Quil was caught as a Quilava by humans, and trained to perform in a travelling group kind of like a circus, but without the silly clothes and makeup. Obviously, his first owners were not so clever when it came to naming their pokemon. However, they were kind in their own fashion, if strict. Not one to bend to rigid authority, naturally Quil became stubborn and unwilling to learn. As was his habit even out in the wild, he began challenging other pokemon to battles in order to gauge how strong he was compared to them, and get stronger himself. In some rare instances, he challenged the humans who dared to behave threateningly towards him when he was already worked up.

Eventually, thanks to training and his own aggressive behavior, Quil evolved into a Typhlosion. Of course, this final evolution did nothing to improve his attitude. In fact, it worsened it. He had become much more aggressive than before, and, now that he was fairly large, he represented a dangerous force. Eventually, the traveling group gave him up as far too violent to be a productive part of the on stage show.

Being a Typhlosion now and quite strong enough to lift things, he was put to work behind the scenes, moving and lifting equipment. However, he knew very well that moving equipment was a demotion from performer, and, though he was aware he was a crappy performer, he resented it. So, he developed a bad habit of ignoring orders, or simply setting the things he was moving on fire, by accident or on purpose. After a particularly spectacular fire, the traveling group decided that Quil just wasn't worth it to keep around, and put him up for sale.

He went through a series of jobs and trainers next. Some were genuinely interested in becoming his friend, but parents or friends and the like eventually persuaded them to give him up as dangerous. Most of his buyers were, however, just hungry for strong pokemon. While he didn't mind getting stronger, Quil wasn't fond of the strict regiments he was expected to adhere to with these trainers. His most recent buyer decided that it was just too much trouble to deal with such a stubborn pokemon, sold him to CRONUS, and walked away without looking back. Hey, it was easy money, he got rid of an annoying pokemon, and it wasn't like CRONUS was going to keep the Typhlosion around for its good company. He could get a better behaved pokemon just as strong as Quil somewhere else...

How Quil Met the Mighty

.x. //....Nighttime Exploits.....................................//

Name: Vlad the Mighty
Meaning: Suspected to be a ploy to make up for his short stature.
Age: Relatively young- freshly evolved.
Birthdate: Unknown
Breed: Gliscor
Color:
Eyes:

.x. //....Health.....................................//

Current Status

.o. // ....physically
....Hungry

.o. // ....emotionally
....Mischeivous

.o. // ....reoccuring ailments
....Fleas.

.x. //....In Depth.....................................//

.x. //....The Species.....................................//

Gliscor: Gliscor's name comes from the words glide and scorpion. Glion name
Japanese is derived the same way, but using "on" instead of "scor"

Pokedex Says: If it succeeds in catching even a faint breeze properly, it can circle the globe without flapping once.

Type: Ground/Flying
Species: Fang Scorp Pokemon
Abilities: Hyper Cutter or Sand Veil
National Number: 472
Sinnoh Number: 154
Height: A normal Gliscor is 6'7", but this particular Gliscor is between 2 and 3 feet tall.
Weight: Average Gliscor weight is 93.7 pounds. This Gliscor's weight is closer to 40 pounds.
Egg Group: Bug

-Physiology-

Gliscor are large, vampire bat like Pokemon. After evolution, Gligar's leg-like claws have become more defined as legs, and its tail now has two barbs as opposed to one. Its arms have become completely detached from its wings, and have pincirs that look similar to Scizor's. Gliscor's body is said to resemble an open mouth, with the pointed protrusions coming from its torso appearing to be fangs. There are no differences between male and female Gliscor. Normal Gliscor are lighter than Gligar by at least fifty pounds.

-Special Abilities-

Gliscor's abilities are the same as Gligar's, except Gliscor's attacks are more powerful, and it can now learn the Elemental Fang attacks. As a fully evolved Pokemon, Gliscor can learn Hyper Beam and Giga Impact. Gliscor, along with Gligar, can emit a sort of sound wave, or sonic pulse, in order to detect obstacles and fly around them, similar to echolocation. However, their legs appear to not be suitable for walking, and Gliscor can only perform short hops when on the ground.

-Behavior-

Gliscor hang upside down while sleeping, much like other bat-like Pokemon. In addition to this, Gliscor, unlike Gligar, are nocturnal. While Gligar eat during the day, they glid back to the colony's nest at night so the Gliscor can go out and hunt. Gliscor's wings cannot be flapped to the same extent that other Pokemon's wings can. Gliscor have to use winds and updrafts to glide from place to place. This practice is similar to flying squirrels and also to the flying frogs and snakes of the Amazon and Congo Rainforests.

-Habitat-

They are extremely rare, but sometimes are found in thick pine forests and swamps.

ALLIES/ENEMIES

The Bearable
- Quil seems to have formed a tentative alliance with Bliss, the Absol. He's not fully within her circle- nor she in his- until trustworthiness is completely proven.
- A Gliscor has been invading Quil's room at night, stealing his leftover food. The two have reached snarky sort of friendship, after a couple of false starts.
