I've noticed something... in my experience as a Sonic fan, the majority of the SonAmy supporters I ran into hate Princess Sally's guts with the passion of a thousand suns for what reasons I will probably never understand. At the same time, I have not seen nearly as many SonSal supporters such as myself gun after Amy... in fact, I like Amy! gonk I just see a stronger connection between Sonic and Sally rather than he does with Amy. That does not, or at least shouldn't, have anything to do with how one likes one of the characters as a person... sweatdrop
But that's just me. confused

I never really understood a reason FOR there to be arguments as to who Sonic is paired up with. For one thing, Sonic's relationships with Sally and Amy depend on which continuity is being questioned....in which case, the existance of one of them doesn't...well, exist. : P
I think the Archie writers make it pretty clear that Sonic is, was, or probably will always be with Sally. Amy's definitely vying for the blue blur's attention, but unless it's ever implied, I still view Sonic's relationship with her as more of a big-brother sort of thing. Still that one-sided romance, though definitely toned down from the game continuity.
Not that I have any problems with either of the ladies (though I have wanted to smack Sally around a few times : P). That's gonna be any fandom, though....Just be glad that the yaoi community hasn't seemed to hone in much on the Archie continuity. (That I know of...If there's alot out there, I don't want to know; ignorance is bliss!)

and having that searing hatred as in that portrayal of a rabid hater in the poll. lol
But yes, in regards to what Sea-Salt Ice Cream said, I look back at it and go "Yeah...why should it bother me? xp "
I can pretty much go about pretending Sally doesn't exist because she
pretty much doesn't in the games' canon, which I am more inclined to pay attention to. :P

Well in this day and age, Sally's the girl from the comics, and Amy's the girl from the games. Now in the comics, Sonic's been with basically every single girl, except Amy, which as one expects, drives Sonamy fans crazy. Sonamy fans hate Sally cuz they hate Archies way of making Sonic chase every girl but Amy, who's honestly the least likely to break up with him randomly.
SalSonic fans don't really hate Amy for a similar reason. Amy's the only girl Sonic gets even remotely close to in the games, which, Sally doesn't exist in, and thus, SalSonic fans can't hate Amy because Amy doesn't keep Sonic from Sally in any way.

Honestly even after the M:25YL comics i still don't see Sonic really ever settling down in the comics or the games its just not his style or type. I mean in the M:25YL comics spoiler if no-ones read them in white(even though they've been out awhile I dun wanna ruin it for anyone who hasn't read them yet...)- Sonic says he's unhappy because he doesn't like being king (before the Shadow take-over) but I think the honest truth is its because he can't be his old self, he's a father and a husband so he can't just randomly speed off into the sunset like he used to be able to...well he can but I don't think Sal would have THAT razz . Anyhow I just can't honestly see him ever settling down...then again people IRL have suprised me with that, why not the Blue Blur XD? Of course thats just my opinion....

To me, that'd be almost like a mild heart attack, but not really. He'd have to be like, really old for me to really think it'd work out. He's literally fifteen, almost sixteen though his age varies in the teens in the games and comics. I don't see him marrying anoyone that young....

I think it really depends on what media ppl are most familiar with. Ppl who are more into the games will tend to support Amy, if only because they hardly know who Sally is. Ppl who are more into the comics tend to go with Sally, cuz that's just how it's always been in the comics, and Amy is seen as significantly younger than Sonic in the comics.
Honestly, though, I don't think either one will get the blue blur to settle down. =P

I agree - it's nice to see someone else who's not buying into that rose-tinted image of everyone finding "the one" before they're barely out of puberty, let alone school. As for me? I'm not a Sally supporter, but it's counterbalanced by me not being much of a Sonic supporter, either. My opinion on Amy's already available in the Amy topic.
