I've been reading extensive documents on C++ and various scripting languages, and a couple of friends of mine have already produced a full-length game using the Adventure Game Studio (the one in my sig). I've mostly just used the Playstation RPG Makers, but I was wondering if anyone else here has actually produced a game.

My brother just graduated with a 1st degree in computer games design, he even got an award, he's made me games before, he's awesome at it

That's really awesome. I'm trying for an animation degree myself so I can do professional-looking graphics. That also means teaching myself how to do 3D modeling, which isn't the easiest thing in the world when you're going to school with people who've been doing it for years! xp I think they should have game design courses in most, if not all, public and private high schools, now that it's so easy to find information on it.

In October I'm going to college for 3 years, I'm majoring in Game Design.

Dante_keybladesCO I'm going to be a game designer ! Now i have to chose a school I've got two years to chose Right now the top game design school is FullSail in Orlando, Florida. Apparently the game design program there is so rigorous that all the other majors never see or hear from the game designers there, but you do get your own dorm and you don't have to share it with anyone, and they give you a laptop. I know the various Art Institutes have a game design major, but you've got to make sure that they're certified for it first, because in some locations they're not. A lot of schools that have animation programs also have game design now, and they ran an article in Tips & Tricks a while back on the best schools to go to in order to get a job in the industry right away.

Design no, but I did test Nintendo games for about 8 years when my brother worked there.

That is soo cool, I would like to design games, but don't think it's gonna happen, still I have a friend who wants to be a game designer

I am working on my getting a degree in game design to do just that. I would love to create a game.. Maybe a New Zelda Game..

I like making games,
but it's not something I'd like to do as a career.
I used programs like RPG Maker and Game Maker,
but they're just for fun.
And I wouldn't want it any other way.

I almost went into artificial intelligence as my major, so I could work on video games, but I decided on biology instead. I didn't want to ruin gaming for myself by getting sick of it all day at work. Still would have been cool as hell, though.

 i took a class junior year o3o c# is SO much easier and more effective than c++, personally. sadly, i didn't try for the DigiPen Institute scholarship, so i left those days behind D;

thats what i want to go to school for. lately I watched this behind the scenes of halo and they showed a tour of bungie...now i wanna get to school and work for the creators of halo! That and bioware cuz their closer

I don't know how but that's what I'm going to major in in college. But do know a few things about 3d animation. I've made a few pics, but I'm still learning.

I want to design games and stuff and I'm awaiting a reply from a college to see if I'm accepted so I can start with graphics and game programing smile I tried learning C++ on my own but it's complicate when you're not sure how to do it xp
