Here's a question for you, Is Yaoi Just a Phase?
You can answer this different ways. Is yaoi a phase for you personally? Do you see yourself growing out of it anytime soon? Perhaps you already are.
Also, lately there has been a big wave of yaoi, do you think this will eventually slow down as people become tired of it?
I've known a few people that drifted out of yaoi, or better yet, found religion and denounced yaoi completely. Personally, I've been interested in yaoi for well over seven years and I don't see it stopping anytime soon. I may not be as interested in fanworks as I was, but frankly, I blame that on the quality of fanworks, not on yaoi itself.
So, do you think you're going to get tired of yaoi anytime soon? Discuss.

There's a fairly good chance that it's just a phase, yes.
For me, personally? It's probably one of those things I'mma "grow out of" for a period of time (anywhere from a few days to a few years), then get into again.
Happened to me with slash a few years ago.

Asking if I will grow out of Yaoi, is like asking if I will grow out of anime. HECK NO!!! There is no way I would ever row out of either of them.

The wave will crash. Some people will grow out of yaoi, for whatever reason. But some people will stay strong and we'll have normal balanced community with people coming and going. Until it's "rediscovered" again and they'll be another huge wave of sudden yaoi lovers.
You know, I miss those days when I was less critical about fanworks, there was more to read. XD But yeah, personally, short of religious intervention rofl , it's unlikely that I grow out of this hobby. Been in it for far too long.

For some odd reason i don't believe i will grow out of it soon. i don't think my friend will either because her cousin is bi and she hears alot of stories about his relationships. for me its just the fact that i draw and i would most likely draw yaoi just for the fun of it. there's also alot that i love about it so its most likely stuck to me!^^

Possibly? I don't know. I personally don't think I'll grow out of it, but as a community we'll probably dwindle for a little while and then suddenly there'll be a whole "Yaoi is retro and therefore the smex!" period, just like everything else. Maybe?

I can't see me ever REALLY growing out of yaoi/slash/etc. A few months ago I stopped reading it for a period of time, but got right back into it in a matter of weeks. Just like Harry Potter. I stopped reading HP fanfics and what-not for about 3 months. Now I'm as obsessed with it as I was before that happened.

I think it depends on the person. Some people will stay with it forever and others will eventually fall away from the group confused
Me, however, will be a life-long fan

I doubt I'll grow out of it. As long as new yaoi keeps coming, I'll be there to go bankrupt for buying it xP I have only liked it for a year or something, in the beginning I was extremely paranoid, I didn't dare go near it in the stores sweatdrop But now it's very different ^w^

On a personal level, I can't see myself growing out of Yaoi right NOW, but realistically I imagine my passion for it will fade eventually. I doubt that it will disappate completely, but in time my utter love for it might wane a bit. Who knows? I can't say for sure.
Now, on a market-based level, yes. Manga lisencing has delved deep into a world of BL and yaoi as of late, bringing out titles in english that we had only seen in scanlation form before. Since the fanbase is pretty wide and, until relatively recently, uncatered to, there was probably a huge influx of results in the form of releases by companies such as BLU, DMP, BeBeautiful (not fond of that last one, but it's an example) and some by Tokyopop. When it becomes more and more availible and more and more mainstream titles are released, there will inevitably be less hype. When that will happen is unsure, as there are so many BL and Yaoi titles as it is, but I imagine when it becomes so widely availible the general hype will fade.
:3
Hope that makes sense. It's late where I am right now; I'm not entirely coherent.
