"PRIIIIIIIIIII!!!!"
The angry, shrill cry cut through the cold morning air, sending chills racing down a stray Rattata's spine. He'd come out in search of an early meal, but upon hearing that horrible screech, he decided that it was a better idea to scurry back into his burrow and go back to sleep.
A deathly silence fell over the forest as the initial screech died on the wind. All was quiet and the tension only seemed to grow. Suddenly, the flutter of feathers and leaves broke the silence. Two sleek forms darted upwards out of the forest canopy, whirling through the air in a tangle of feathers, claws and beaks. Furious screeching and cawing filled the air as the two avian forms spun and fought, thirsty for each other's blood.
The two broke apart, wings flapping to keep them aloft as they stared each other down. Circling and wheeling higher and higher above the forest below, the two figures could now be clearly identified as a Pidgeot and a Fearow. Although the Fearow seemed to have the size-advantage, something in the Pidgeot's fierce glare seemed to say that she held no reservations in standing up to her male attacker.
The airborne birds seemed to size each other up for several long minutes before the Fearow sneered derisively at the female Pokemon.
'Fool. Give up now and I might let you live.'
The Pidgeot's intense icy glare eagerly met the male's with no sign of backing down. Feathers bristling with barely contained fury, she flapped her powerful wings, preparing to dive into the fray once more.
'I told you once and I'll tell you again. Keep your filthy claws away from my babies!"

The Pidgeot, known by the self-given name of Celeste, screeched and dived for the male once more, hoping to take advantage of the situation with a surprise attack. No such luck, however, as her Fearow foe was ready and waiting for her. With a powerful thrust of his wings, he soared upwards just as she zipped by beneath him.
Whirling about angrily, Celeste trilled sharply and drew sights on her attacker once more. She wasn't just fighting for herself.
She was fighting for her young ones.
Whirling and twisting, the battle continued in the skies. It was a battle of beaks and claws, feathers and blood. There could only be one victor.

Far below and completely ignorant of the battle of life and death going on in the skies, a certain security guard was enjoying a rare moment of quiet. Hayden sighed, lounging beneath the same tree where he'd sat with Karen earlier today. Glancing out over the lake, he counted down the time until dinner tonight...and his date with Karen.
Smiling slightly despite himself, he shook his head. He needed to be more careful. He was growing attached too quickly. Afterall, once she figured out what was really going on, it wouldn't matter what he said or did or how much he had wanted to prevent it. When it came to the facts, he'd still helped in getting her trapped here...just like all the others.
A high-pitched scream cut through the air and eyes wide, Hayden leapt to his feet. "Ka--" No, that wasn't a human scream. A flash of movement caught his eye and he looked up, only now seeing the battle in the sky.
"Holy..."
Both Pokemon were looking pretty bad at this point. The end couldn't be far off.
Hayden glanced around, wondering why he was the only one around now. Oh no, they couldn't have all disappeared earlier...just now when he'd rather someone else be around to handle the situation. What was he supposed to do? They wouldn't even let him have a Pokemon of his own. What was with that anyway? Where they afraid he'd suddenly turn on them? He wasn't that stupid. He wouldn't make it ten feet before someone took him out. Instead, he got sent on all the sucky missions with no protection whatsoever...
Hayden was so wrapped up in his own thoughts that he was almost hit by the Pidgeot, plummeting to the earth.

Celeste hit the dirt...HARD.
She heard a sharp snapping sound and rolled several times before coming to a stop. Tired, but angry, she flailed and struggled to her feet, screeching in pain as she made an unfortunate discovery.
One eye narrowed, appraising her wing...and the strange angle it now possessed. Broken, definitely. Despair filled her heart. Eyes angling upwards to search the skies for her attacker, she couldn't find him at first. Then...
Outside the strange barrier! A fence, she thought it was called. He'd hit the ground out there, though he seemed to be recovering better than she was. No broken bones then, she figured. He glared back at her before taking to the air again. NO! Her babies!
Adrenaline flooded her system, keeping the pain at bay for the moment. She had to get out of here! She had to get back to her babies! She tried to flap her wings, though one wing only fluttered uselessly in the dirt.

It was obvious that the Pidgeot was distressed and had a broken wing. The problem was that Hayden had no idea what to do now...after he had leapt far out of the way of course. And still, no one around. With all the security cameras, someone had to be on their way, but there was no saying when they would actually get there. And someone had to calm the poor panicked Pokemon down before she hurt herself further.
"It's okay...calm down..." he spoke softly and soothingly, so as not to upset her further. He took one step, then another, carefully advancing on the injured Pokemon.
Big mistake.
Apparently, he'd gotten too close. Even with only one functioning wing, the Pidgeot leapt forward, slashing his arm with her talons. She fell and hit the ground awkwardly though, flailing to get back to her feet again.

'Keep away from me and my babies!'
Celeste screeched at the human from her undignified place, scrambling in the dirt. Of course, this human had yet to threaten either her OR her children, but that didn't matter. She was so high on a mix of adrenaline and pain, she'd have screamed the same to a rock if she looked at it the wrong way.
Her vision grew blurry, dark spots forming on the edges. No, something was wrong. She had to fly. Fly to her babies. They needed her. The Fearow. He...he could...no...not her babies.
Screeching one last time, she flared her wings painfully, the sheer agony sending her over the edge and into darkness. No, she couldn't give in...her babies needed her...
Unfortunately, the darkness didn't care. It swallowed the poor mother Pidgeot, her body dropping limply into the dust as a confused human looked on, clutching his bleeding arm.

Broken Wings and Broken Dreams Other Characters Involved: Bliss Summary: Newly arrived to the facility, Celeste is still upset and on-edge after her disastrous run-in with the Fearow that attacked her nest and left her here with a broken wing. After a tense introduction with Bliss, she learns that not all is as it seems here; that Pokemon other than herself are being held here for unknown reasons, including at least a Charizard and a Gyarados. Celeste begins to lose hope, for herself, the other Pokemon, and her babies' unknown fate. While not exactly encouraging, something Bliss said manages to rouse her out of her increasing depression, and she swears her determination to help in any way she can with the growing rebellion and plot to escape one day. Bliss leaves, satisfied with adding another to the numbers of plotting Pokemon and Celeste harbors a bit of new hope of escape and returning to her babies one day...if they're still safe. http://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds/viewtopic.php?t=9026205

...I Got Bored! 8D Other Characters Involved: Demetri Roland Summary: Both Celeste and Demetri have managed to slip out of their rooms somehow and meet one another in the hallway. Demetri shows the bird Pokemon a small, blinking device on his arm, supposed to help him when he gets lost. Apparently, the tracking device isn't all that helpful for HIM. Celeste has the thought to take this opportunity to try and find out any useful information she can before she's discovered. Her maternal instincts have her looking after Demetri in the process and the two make their way through the hallways of CRONUS... *STILL IN PROGRESS* http://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds/viewtopic.php?t=12180819
