Plain rice with lots of butter is one of my favorite foods ever.

When I cook rice, though, I usually use a chicken broth & soy sauce mixture instead of water, to flavor it and make sure it's flavored evenly. I haaaate getting a spoonful of soy sauce and only three grains of rice when I get to the bottom of the bowl - so adding the soy sauce right to the broth prevents that & flavors it all evenly.

Oooh! That is a great idea Cassidy! If I ever learn to cook rice, I'll be sure to try that! xd

Horrific as it may be, I often use steamed white rice as a substitute for some pastas.
Especially as a substitute for the Egg Noodles in Beef Stroganof.

Wild rice(well, the package says it's wild anyway) sees lots of service as a base for my chili or stew to be poured over.

Also, I eat at a restaurant called Chipotle' a lot... they make an excellent steamed white rice, with cilantro, lime, lemon, and a dash of salt, that goes in their burritos... not traditional Mexican, but great nonetheless. heart

Normally sticky so i can eat it with my hands or chopsticks mattering what cusine i am eating.
When i eat indian (not native american) i find that i love a sombar or korma over top of it. Sometimes just plain rice. In either case i have a chutteny that goes with it such as mint or coconut chuttney both are excellent.
If i am eating Chinese or Japanese I use chopsticks and have some type of veggie stir fry with it. Sometimes with chuttney as well beside it.
Sometimes i just eat it plain matters my mood.
I am always looking for new ways to try rice and different Ethnic Cusines to try that are Vegaterian. smile

My mom taught me to eat rice with loads of butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon. So healthy! blaugh

Now I usually eat it as a bed for stir fry or chicken or something like that. Rice has also become important to me since I use rice milk in recipes instead of regular milk now.

So I just had a new dessert added to my list of favourites.
It's a type of rice pudding from India... I think it is written in English as Kheer, it is thinner, and quite a bit sweeter than most western rice puddings I've had, I'll hopefully be snagging a recipe soon. 3nodding
