The guards were being slaughtered by the rebel forces. Their fervent assault assault gaining rapid ground, each rebel soldier proving to be the worth of twenty of the holy soldiers that faltered at the savage attacks. Despite their overwhelming numbers the rebels were quickly taking control of this battle.
A hand will land on Takera's shoulder from where he laid. A face masked in blood and gore would look down upon him, the voice the familiar soft tone of Sai, "This is going much better than I was expecting... the rebels are proving their worth by a large margin, we've thinned the soldiers by over half." The man stated. He was crouching beside the boy, his right hand holding the bloody grip of his scimitar as he glanced around. The fighting had slowed down to a temporary stall. They had lost roughly half of their fighting force and were being surrounded on all sides by the holy soldiers but the soldiers were hesitant to approach. "Well... I did say a direct approach would be death, but not for us it would seem." The man let a soft chuckle that died shortly after... they were still out numbered one to twelve, but their odds were much better now. Rising to his full stance, he retrieved his second scimitar and took a step forward. 'And to think... this is but a fraction of Aren's true forces...' A wild grin spread across his lips at the thought as he prepared for the next assault.

In the chaos of the raging battle, Takera sat looking on as the rebels around he progressed rapidly, pushing the lines back and devestating soldier after soldier along the way. He glanced around slowly, slightly shaken by the sights around him that he blatantly repressed and ignored until this moment. Blood, bodies, body parts, fallen weapons and armor--it was all strewn across the battlefield as far as Takera could see. Most of those still standing were covered in blood from those they slew or open wounds. The smell that finally caught up with Takera was horrific. His eyes wide, he was taken by surprise as a hand lay on his shoulder. He turned his head to see the General, aka disguised Sai, staring back at him. His eyes were wide and his breathing incredibly heavy.
Sai affirmed what was more and more becoming obvious. The front line had pushed so miraculously hard that the sheer numbers of the enemy generals had dropped tremendously. A large number of bodies lay strewn ahead in the wake of the moving front line with no end in sight. "It's unfathomable.. I can feel the pain, the hatred, the malice, the sorrow.. even the fear. It pours up from the chaos of this battlefield with overwhelming intensity." Takera stated as his eyes moved back forward. "We need to start taking control of this situation before there is nothing left." Takera's expression one of great sorrow, he gritted his teeth and leaned forward as he picked himself back up. He planted his sword in the ground and used it as leverage to pull himself to his feet. He glanced back to Sai, but paused as his eyes shifted off further beyond.
A short distance away the large wolf Zarathos stood watching on. The heat and malice in his eyes raising as his gaze was set upon the carnage, but a sense of longing also seemed to emanate from the majestic and fierce creature. Takera turned around to face Sai and Zarathos, the wolf moving in silently up to Takera, he took a few whiffs in the air and immediately distinguished the armored man. "..Where is Shun?" the wolf's voice was stern and cold. Takera took a deep breath. "We were split up. I went after him hoping to find Averus as well, but I was separated from Sha while trying to avoid the security." Takera confessed.
Able to hear his own heart beat, a heat began to build within him. He raised an arm from his side to open his bloodied palm. He glanced down to it before balling his hand into a tight fist. He closed his eyes and shook his head lightly before back to his sword. He plucked the blood splattered blade from the earth it had been sticking out of and turned back to the two of them. "I am going to need your help, Zarathos..." Takera stated, trailing for a moment. The wolf looked up with a sneer as if he were about to let loose with a witty rude remark. "Out here in the market there must have been nearly a thousand soldiers ready to oppose us. We haven't even made it to the Citadel, where the main army will surely be awaiting us. Shun was taken to the Citadel. We can't afford to sit idle." Takera followed up, cutting off the wolf from raising a word. Zarathos wasn't pleased, but a strained expression seemed to edge over his maw as he weighed the situation. His priority was to make sure Shun was safe. He could scold and torture him later when they weren't in immediate danger. "Very well. This once I will help you, but if we're too late, I will personally rend your jugular and leave you to die miserably choking on your own blood... What is it that you need from me?" the wolf demanded in a cold jarring voice, his blood lust spiking as the threat left his muzzle. "You're the Alpha. I need your presence to help my words bare weight over the chaos of the battlefield. I need to be heard, and for that I need to draw attention to myself as well while they're all still afraid. I'm going to need a ride if I'm to cover enough ground." Takera explained. Zarathos huffed and snorted in dis-taste for the proposal, but nodded in agreement moving forward along side the armored man. Takera cast a leg over the mighty wolf's back and once rested grabbed onto a tuft of hair from a sturdy placing on the back of Zarathos's neck. He leaned forward. "Head for the advancing front lines. The enemy is showing signs of escalating fear. I need you to run along the back of our line to draw attention. Don't hesitate to kill someone if they make an attempt for us. I'll do my best to guard you as well." Takera explained to Zarathos before turning to glance back at the bloodied General. "I'll see you at the line." Takera spoke. Just then Zarathos bolted off toward the front lines. Takera carried his sword low and out to Zarathos' side they flew toward the advancing line with remarkable speed. The wind flowing over Takera wreaked of the smell of death. Something that only seemed to hasten Zarathos' steps.
As Zarathos and Takera reached the line, Zarathos turned and arc'd along the wall of soldiers. Takera could see the genuine fear doubt that had spread across the opposing forces. Their numbers were now remarkably less than before. More than half the forces had dwindled during the last major push. Takera thrusted his sword forcibly up above himself and breathed in deeply preparing himself. "HOLY SOLDIERS OF AREEENNN!" Takera shouted deeply from just behind the line. "LISTEN TO ME! LOOK AROUND YOU AT OUR FORCES!" Takera asserted in an echoing tone as he demanded attention to those the soldiers were fighting. "YOU CAN SEE IT FOR YOURSELVES! THE RAG TAG--THE ARMORED! THEY'RE ALL PEOPLE OF AREN JUST LIKE YOURSELVES! THE GREED PLAGUING THIS CITY HAS CAUSED MUCH SUFFERING TO THESE PEOPLE AND THEIR FAMILIES! THE TOLL OF GREED IS TOO MUCH FOR THE COMMON MAN TO BARE!" Takera paused to take a breath as Zarathos flipped back around to travel back up the line. "CAN'T YOU SEE IT? OR HAS YOUR FAITH BLINDED YOU TO THEIR SUFFERING! IN THIS TIME OF WAR WE WANT NOT BLOODSHED, BUT PEACE! WE WANT FOR OUR FAMILIES TO THRIVE, NOT STARVE COLD AND LONELY IN THE STREETS WHILE THE WEALTHY DICTATE WHAT IS RIGHT AND WHAT IS WRONG! TAKE THE MOMENT NOW TO LOOK DEEP WITHIN YOURSELVES! IF ANY DECENCY STILL REMAINS THEN STOP THIS CEASELESS FIGHTING AND STAND TOGETHER!" Takera paused a final time as Zarathos rounded for the last pass. "THEY WILL COME FOR US AND OUR FAMILIES AND WHEN THAT IS NOT ENOUGH THEY WILL TURN ON YOU AND YOURS JUST AS HISTORY HAS SHOWN TIME AND TIME AGAIN! ONLY, BY THEN, NO ONE WILL BE LEFT TO STAND UP FOR YOU AND YOUR OWN IN YOUR TIME OF NEED! SURRENDER YOURSELVES TO US NOW AND STOP THIS SENSELESS BLOODSHED! THIS LAND IS YOURS, THE PEOPLES', TO THRIVE AND PROSPER! IT IS NOT THEIRS TO STAIN! THEY STAND TO GAIN FROM YOUR SUFFERING WHILE YOU DO NOT!" Takera propositioned the feared and desperate enemy soldiers attempting to reach as far and wide along their thinned ranks as possible.

Chaoscarrier Generating a number 0 to 10 to determine effectiveness of speech. Sai paused in his slaughter, turning to take notice of Takera on the wolf. The man was trying to gain the attention of the Holy Soldiers, using the timing of their hesitation of their numbers being so heavily thinned to his advantage. A brow raised. 'I... want a doggie too...'
The soldiers of both sides paused to listen to the words of the soldier riding the wolf. Many whispered to each other as he spoke, a sound reverence passing over the market. The fighting had stopped on all sides. The man had their full attention. Slowly the Holy Soldiers began to back down. Many dropped or sheathed their weapons while others simply ran. But of those who stayed they bowed their heads and opened way for him to pass... a lone armored man standing in his path. "Well that was a feat... I think that man is offering you command, Wolf Rider." Sai had stepped beside Takera, now easily dwarfed by his while riding the wolf. He had intended the name as a joke, but it rippled through the soldiers seemingly gaining power of its own. "Hum.. so will you accept it or?" With a step back, he waited for Takera's next action.
The waiting man would continue to wait until the Takera approached before dropping to a knee and presenting his sword to him.

Zarathos came around to a stop a few steps behind the center of the line. Takera's eyes gazed across the crowds as chatter began to kick up and shortly then subside. The sound of sheathing weapons clicking and fallen weapons falling to and colliding with the ground came from across the mass of soldiers. In the distance Takera could see some who were retreating, most unarmed. The soldiers before him, soldiers and rebels alike bowed their heads, an opening in the formation before him developed. A man stood forth in the path ahead of him.
Zarathos turned his head to see Sai approaching them. Takera looked over to Sai as he spoke. "Let's hope so." Takera responded before leaning to the opposite side of Zarathos and bringing his other leg over and off of the large wolf. Once standing he patted Zarathos's back lightly before getting quite the surprise. Something nudged up against his rear almost making Takera lose his balance. He looked back, under the helmet there was a hint of surprise. Sha, the other wolf of Shun's was standing behind him. He turned to face him, reaching down and patting his head. "Go show the man behind me a little bit of that affection. I'm sure he could use it." Takera whispered to Sha. The wolf padded around behind Zarathos toward Sai, abruptly pushing his head between the disguised Sai's legs and then arching his head up causing the General to slide back into a mounted position upon. He padded in place a step or two rebalancing himself.
Takera's attention turned from the two towards the man in the path. Turning to the path he took a few slow steps forward keeping a careful eye on the soldiers around them. As Takera drew near the man kneeled and presented a sword to Takera. The sword was in unique similar design to the almost lance-like weapons the rest had been wielding only more refined and smaller to replicate the intrinsic values of a sword. Takera kept his senses on edge as he reached in with a firm grip on both the handle/hilt of the sword and the sheathed end of it. He pulled forth the weapon and took a step back.
Takera took a moment to clear his thoughts as he glanced around the men silently. He unsheathed the sword slowly before thrusting it into the air. "It's time to spread the word to our brothers and sisters in the Citadel! For the sake of the glory and greatness of the Holy City of Aren and for the prosperity of ALL it's fine people--Go forth and help us bring an end to the suffering!" Takera commanded of all the soldiers and rebels present. Amidst the coat tails of the speech he moved back to Zarathos, Sha, and Sai. Zarathos all the while keeping a sharp eye along the soldiers.
