The Dovaa Sage
The hunting party had come to a halt at an oasis where a caravan was located, finding that it was the best place to wait since they had some supplies from hunting that they could trade with the caravan for other things that the group could use. It also allowed them to take a much needed rest since this last leg of their travels had a been more difficult then usual due to the mass of Gaili that had been coming after them seemingly one after another. A big pain but now that they were here there were even more people to help to keep an eye out for dragons. Perhaps it was breeding season and that was why they were so abundant in numbers, at least that was what Junjie would guess.
It wasn't long after they had set up a temporary camp that Junjie found himself standing face to face with someone that he hadn't seen in ages. It was a man that had helped him out a lot over the years, a man whose name he still didn't know. He always insisted upon being called Sage or The Dovaa Sage, a Dovaa of the Kiandri clan. It was because of the man that he had been able to join the Ysali clan in the first place, something that he was grateful for since it had allowed him to become a healer and tend to man people over the years. He opened his mouth to speak, wanting to greet the man, but he seemed to be unable to really get the words out, instead he just smiled, stepping forward toward him.
The older Kiandri man starred at Junjie for a long moment, reaching out one hand to rest it on his head, and ruffled his hair, "It has been far too long, Junjie. I've stopped by your mother's place many times now hoping to run into you but without any sort of luck. It would seem as though Abronaxus blessed me, helping me to find you in the middle of his wasteland." He said, then gave a bit of a sigh, "You know you really do make things difficult for me, Junjie." Having to go and visit his mother time and again, something that was enjoyable as it was awkward at times. At least he'd finally found the 'boy' so that was something.
"I've been wondering how you've been, how your training is going, I have some texts that I felt that you should read over... though at a glance I wonder if you are strong enough for what is within the pages." There was something odd about Junjie he found himself thinking, the magic that flowed around him seeming a bit tangled up like a ball of twine, all of it seemingly snagged up around those wings of his. The man gave a thoughtful sound and set to circling around Junjie, looking him overly closely, then reached a hand out to give him a clap on the back, "You need to see about some meditation, Junjie, you magic seems to be a bit twisted up around your wings. Have you noticed anything strange about them? Or about your magic?" The man asked in a curious manner.
Junjie blinked a couple times, glancing toward his wings, stretching them out so that he could see them, before he nodded, "Strange about them? Well... in a manner of speaking, when my second set of wings came in I stopped being able to hide them as I could when I was little. Is that what you are referring to?" He gave one of his Dovaa wings a little poke before he waited to see what his master said.
The man gave a nod, "Yes, that could be it. If it's a lingering problem then perhaps more then just meditation is needed." He mused, feeling as though he could help, provided of course that Junjie was willing to put the work in, "Come, I would ask that you pack up your things, we should get to training once more, perhaps we can fix that little issue with your wings with a bit of time and effort?"
There was a long moment where Junjie fell into silence, starring at the Sage in a wide eyed manner, mouth slightly agape, "I can't just leave the group, we have been traveling with them for a long time, since Keona was little, I think leaving her friends behind would break her heart." He explained, not wanting to blow off the man's offer but he couldn't very well just leave behind a group that they had been with for so long, not when they meant so much to Junjie and his daughter.
There was a moment of silence before the Sage said in a questioning tone of voice, "Keona...?" One eyebrow lifted in a manner that told him that the man didn't know who she was.
Had his mother not told him? Had the two even chatted? They always had acted rather oddly around one another Junjie thought to himself before finally said, "Keona is my adopted daughter, she's a wonderful girl, probably off causing trouble with her friends. I can't very well just pack up and leave, Sage, I'm sorry. I need to be here for her, to keep her safe from the various dangers that are skulking about Eowyn." He explained to the man before he trailed off, realizing the man had fallen into wide eyed silence at the news that Junjie had a daughter. Something that he'd need to snap out of before their conversation could continue.

The Agreement
It took some time for Junjie to explain everything to the Sage. Who Keona was, where she'd come from, and why it was that he had ended up taking her in. It had been, at first that was, his desire to try to find her father at least he explained, but then the war with the Mara had started and he was unable to do so. Things had just happened, making it so that they weren't able to search for the man as much as Junjie would have liked to. So much time had passed with Junjie taking care of the girl, protecting her from all of the dangers of the world both those that he perceived as dangerous and those that he knew to be dangerous, wanting nothing more then to protect her from all of it. The search for her blood father was ongoing, to a degree, him keeping an ear out for anything, but it had been so long that it was unlikely that he find anything about the man.
"So yeah, that would be why I can't go." Junjie said, ending the story just as Keona and her two friends, Bisera, the hybrid who was born a few months ahead of her, and Meir, the Aeduan Khehora pup that followed them around, went running. He watched a moment, then gave a soft chuckle, "The two of them seem to be in constant competition with each other despite their choices being so vastly different." He told the Sage, explaining about the pair, their choice of weapons, and their choice of clans.
The Sage chuckled, "Reminds me a bit of you and that friend of yours, the two of you may have chosen a similar weapon but your clans were quite different. What was her name again? Tiana?" He murmured thoughtfully, tapping a finger against his lips.
Junjie gave a little sighing sound, "Tilawen... yeah, it's been some time since I've seen her." He wasn't even sure if she was still alive. She'd meant a lot to him when he was younger, she was a friend he wanted to spend all his days with alongside Rio. Childish dreams he supposed given that the world wasn't so kind as to let them stick together in such a manner he thought to himself. A thought that caused Abellio, who was sitting nearby, to leave over and give Junjie a nuzzle against his cheek. Lifting a hand Junjie scratched him under the chin, giving him a smile before he looked over at the Sage, "If I am able I want for Keona to be able to grow up alongside her friends, so that she won't have to lose track of them as I did my own."
The Sage shook his head, "You know you can't protect her from everything, not forever at least. There will come a day when she wants to strike out into the world, just as you did when you were little. Your mother had the same fears when you were little, it's why she tried so hard to hide you away where nobody would find you or learn of what you were. You went out into the world and even if you have had to deal with hardships it's a part of growing up. Some friend advice, don't smother her too much or she's going to run off without telling you. That's not something that you want to have happen I am sure."
Giving a rapid shake of his head Junjie said, "That is definitely not what I want..." He said, giving a little sigh. It wasn't what he wanted, but he really didn't want her leaving his sight at all... but he supposed the Sage was right, his mother hadn't really wanted him to leave either. If she'd had her way Junjie would probably still be hidden away in a tiny village in Serenia. He might have avoided a lot of heartache but there would have been a lot of people he would never have met and places he'd never have seen.
"She'll leave the nest one day, but until then I will keep her safe." Junjie said, before he looked over at the Sage, "Why not stick with us? Travel with us a while, and help myself and the little ones with training? You were always a good teacher for me after all."
The Sage starred at Junjie, lifting a hand to rub it against his temples, "I probably could, though a part of me would love to say I am far too old to be teaching another generation of students." He wanted to say that, but could he really refuse? He'd agreed long ago to tend to Junjie's training after all and if that meant that he would need to take on more students then so be it. Only until he helped Junjie get things straightened out with his magic, then he'd see to it that he was given the text that he needed, texts that would aid him in the coming days.
"It is getting late now, but we can definitely see about starting training in the morning. It will give you a chance to chat it over with your group and to make sure it's alright with the boy's parents that he trains with us. I don't want to step on toes." The Sage said, giving Junjie a nod before he walked away, off the walk around the camp, and get his mind wrapped around all that he'd agreed to. As he did that Junjie, flanked by his Khehora, went to find Keona and her friends.

Unraveling Power
It had been a long time since he was an apprentice but a few moments with the Dovaa Sage training him and he felt like that all over again. The man had given him a task, one that was supposed to help him to 'unravel' his magic though it also came along with words that left him a little confused. He was told his power as a whole was great, but he had to also look at the parts that made up the whole of what he was. After that he was left to a task that was simple, at least in theory.
The way that he was to 'unravel' his magic was through him sitting here, holding a flickering ball of energy in each hand. The hard part being that in one hand was a white gold ball of Aeduan power and in the other hand was a bright green ball of Ysali power. He was told hold them there for as long as he could, not allowing the powers to intermingle. It was easy, at first, but as time went on, and given the heat, the two balls of power started to flicker and dance in his hands, every now and again showing just a hint of the other color. Junjie squeezed his eyes closed, trying to get his barrings back. As he did that he was given a thump on the head that caused the two balls to fizzle out as his eyes popped open.
"Ahh... Huh?" He looked up at the Sage as the man starred down at him, giving him a disapproving look, "Huh? Sorry, what?"
The man gave a little smile, patting him on the head, before he said, "Just keep at it, and don't struggle against your power, Junjie. If you fight against it, against your dual nature, it will only continue to be a problem." The Sage said, giving him a smile, "Now, start from the top, I am going to go and get you some water. We can't have you overheating, that won't make practice any easier." The man said, turning on his heel, and walked over to where the others were gathered at the moment to do just that.
Junjie watched him for a moment, giving him a smile, before he set to gathering the powers up once more, one colored ball in each hand, and once more he was doing his best to concentrate. This time he didn't struggle, instead doing his best to allow the power to flow as the Sage had instructed him to do. It was a bit on the difficult side just 'letting things flow' since it wasn't something he normally did. He steered things in his life with a tight grip, likely due to various things that had happened in his life up to this point.
He didn't want anything to happen to those around, didn't want them to get injured or killed, didn't want to lose anyone else. It caused him to hold fast to everything around him, maybe too tight. He would just have to get better about it he supposed. As he thought that he could hear Abellio in his mind, cheering him on with his training, which Arjan gave him a sort of grunt, the best that one could get from the serious Kiandri. Giving a smile Junjie said, "Admit it, you're happy I'm training again." A commented that was met with a sort of pleased silence from Arjan before his practice continued.

A Magical Knot Undone
Junjie was sitting down again, across from the Sage, a smile on his face, "Did you see? Well, I know that you saw it, but wasn't it great? I did just like you said, I was able to keep the powers separate and even fire off two blasts at once! It's something that I have never done before!" He sounded a bit like a kid all over again, an excited one who had learned something new, which had the Sage smiling a bit.
"It's good to see a more carefree smile on your face, Junjie." He said, reaching a hand out to pat him on the head. It was something that one tended to do with children but given the gap in their ages the Sage felt he could get away with it... and he was right as Junjie really didn't complain. Instead he sat still, allowing the pat on the head. A moment later the Sage spoke again, "Now, remember I didn't just send you out on that little mission so that you could learn a new attack method and collect orbs, that was just a side venture. Summon up the magical sphere again, like you did before."
Junjie shifted how he was sitting so he was cross-legged, resting his arms on his legs, palms up. Once he was comfortable he summoned up the two colored spheres, "It's becoming easier to summon them separately like this." He said, glancing between the green sphere and white gold one, before looking up at the Sage, "Now what?" He knew there was more then just showing them off, so he was ready for it.
There was a chuckle from the Sage before he said, "Now that you have separated the two spheres, now that you can see and feel their separate power, you will be able to untangle the knot of magic that is wrapped around your wings. It might take some time though, it's quite the mess and has been in place for some time now. The older the knots are the harder it will be to figure it out. I have faith in you, Junjie, you are a child blessed by both Abronaxus and Seren, you can do this." He said, giving him a reassuring smile.
"You've always been good at encouraging me, Sage, thank you." He murmured as he let his bright eyes to sink closed, doing as the Sage told him to do, concentrating on the two lines of power that he was holding in his hand. He allowed himself first to get a good feel for the pair of lines, to concentrate on them before he set to following them. For a while it was rather easy to follow and get a feel for, at least until he got to the tangle that the Sage had been telling him about. It was as the Sage had said, it was old and knot was done up tight around his wings. It wasn't something that caused them any pain per say, but it was likely what caused the issues that he'd had with them ever since his 'Dovaa' wings had come in.
If he was able to get the knot undone maybe he would be able to fix that? A question that he put aside though, not wanting to think about what would happen after the knot was dealt with when it was still in place. One step at a time he told himself as he set to work picking at the knot. It seemed to be so daunting a task now that he was aware of its existence. Regardless, knowing that it was there meant that he was going to be able to deal with it. It was just going to be slow going was all. There was a sort of 'twang' that reverberated through his magic as a bit of the knot came free, something that caused him to go for a moment stock still. It was only after he was sure that there wouldn't be any sort of backlash that he continued working at it again.
Junjie couldn't really say how long he was working on it, not really noticing the way that the sun had set, or how often his daughter came by to peek at him. From time to time Shayla would come by, top off the water that was sitting alongside him or cooling it off, so that it would be there for him when he wanted or needed it. Once he was done with his magical work it would be waiting for him.
It was during the darkness of the night that Junjie let his eyes slid over, blinking a couple times, still and silent as he felt his power flowing freely around him. It was a nice feeling, one that had his wings flapping rapidly behind himself, as though a great weight had been lifted off of them... before all four of them faded away, leaving behind just an ornate tattoo on his back. It was a sensation that left him feeling even lighter, something that he hadn't done in ages. He turned, looking over his shoulder, calling his wings up to look them over, hid them again, then once more summoned them up. It was just... amazing. To be able to hide his wings again, it would help him out, make things easier on him, a weight removed from his shoulders.
He gave a smile before he picked up the water skin, pushing himself to his feet, and started toward where the others were currently gathered. He was more then a little tired, as well as wobbly on his feet, but he couldn't wait to tell them the good news... though he supposed they would likely notice the very obvious fact that his wings had been hidden away.

Some Old Texts
"I mean to continue training Keona and her friend for a while longer but first off I must congratulate you again on what you were able to accomplish over the course of a day." He said, digging into the pack that he had around his waist. He dug into it for a moment, pulling out a pair of scrolls to him, "These are important, not only for yourself but for your daughter and her friend one day. These are ritual scrolls, something that is important for those who want to seek out 'true power' and now that your magic is no longer snagged as it was I feel you might be able to reach with time and effort."
A curious look on his face Junjie reached out to take the two scrolls, giving each a glance, before he asked, "What sort of power do they contain, Sage?" He couldn't help but to wonder, especially when the Sage said that it was something he might be able to do now that his magic had been untangled. Had he not been able to do that he wouldn't have been able to do what was on the scrolls? So it must be something important?
"They only tell you about the two rituals, not how to go about them. You will also be able to choose only one of them, Junjie. That means making a difficult choice, but I know that you will make the right choice." He told him, then gave a bit of a smile, "Though keep in mind that I am not going to push you in one direction or another, this is a choice that is yours to make after all when you are powerful enough to achieve it and when you are powerful enough to start on the quest to obtain such power. Think hard on what choice you will make, alright?"
Junjie nodded his head, tucking the scrolls safely away into his pack, "I will find myself a quiet spot, look them over, and decide. It seems that I will owe you thanks for this as well, Sage." How many times over would he find himself indebted to the Sage? A question that had no answer, not when he didn't feel that he would ever be able to thank him nearly enough for everything that he'd done for Junjie up to this point. Everything, even the most basic things like training and picking his clan, it had been done through the aid of the Sage. The man had often been there for him and that he was offering the same sort of help to Keona, that only made Junjie owe him that much more. He'd never be able to thank him enough, but it didn't mean that he wouldn't try.
The Sage merely gave him a smile and a nod, "It's quite alright, Junjie, it's something I was only too happy to do." It had been for Junjie's mother at first, but after the initial training on her behest he had started to actually care for the boy, wanting to help him for Junjie's sake. He was glad, it had allowed him to grow in his own right, not that he would tell the boy as much he thought to himself, "I would say take your Khehora, maybe find a private spot in the shade, and read the texts. I assure you that you will find them most interesting. Just keep in mind that you will only be able to do one or the other, after that you will need to tuck the scrolls away and keep them safe until the day when Keona might find need of them." He said, giving a little dismissing wave to Junjie.
The boy gave a smile, bowed to the Sage, before turning to head to where the two Khehora were waiting for him. He'd find them a nice place to sit and them he meant to read the scrolls over, curious to figure out what it was that was on them and what it was that they would be leading him toward when his training had progressed to a point where he was ready.
What he would soon read, what was on the scrolls, were amazing things, things that would in fact leave him with quite the choice to make in the future, rituals meant for only the strongest of the strong, which Junjie knew he wasn't yet, but given time he would be able to achieve the title 'Master'. He just had to put a lot more training in, something that Arjan seemed only too pleased to hear. The Kiandri was often saying that Junjie shouldn't be 'playing house' so much and that he should get back to training. Within the scrolls that Junjie was given by the Sage was the push to do just that.

Am I more than you bargained for yet? Everyone in their life experiences a point where someone or something is in their way, underestimating them, judging them unfairly, holding them back. Whatever form it takes, it leaves a lasting impression, and even after massive achievements, these kinds of things can still linger at the back of a person's mind. Who has wronged your character in the past? Who does your character most feel they still have something to prove to, if only to rub their successes in this person's face?
RP your character looking back on the successes and pains of their life to date, considering their relationships in full and what they need to do to move on from their past regrets or - if appropriate - exact a little much-deserved revenge. Do you go seeking an encounter out? Or perhaps your character simply runs into this person who has never valued or judged them adequately - how do you cope, and what helps your character to move on from the injustices of their younger years to the poise and power befitting of a true master of their art? Junjie was feeling a bit, driven, at the moment. It was as though the run in with the Sage, as well as the powers that the man helped him unlocked, got him excited once more for getting out there in the world. Those scrolls that the man had give him had helped as well, getting him out of what his routine was. It wasn't as though he saw anything wrong with his life, he loved those that he traveled with, owed them a lot, they allowed his daughter to grow up happily amongst a happy and protective family group after all. He knew full well though that he had sort of fallen into the routine and save for the occasional battle against creatures that threatened the group he hadn't really done much when it came to seeking power. Those scrolls though, they spoke of power, power that actually sparked his interest, though he was still debating between the two powers offered to him.
His renewed desire for greater strength was going to bring him on a journey, one that he was a bit uncertain of just because it meant going to Soudul. It was a little odd though, that amongst all the leaders it was like Draco that he had the best opinion of. Giving a bit of a sighing sound he started forward toward the docks of the city. He was going to have to see about making booking a ride to Soudul for himself, his Khehora, and anyone else in the group that was going to come along with him. He knew that Keona was considering the journey but there was a part of him that didn't want her to come along. Soudul was a dangerous place after all, but on top of that it was the home of the Oblivionites. What if she met some of them, some that didn't mind her being of mixed blood, and wanted to take her along with them? What if she wanted to leave him? He supposed that it was possible, something that was going to happen, because she was growing up. He wouldn't be able to keep his daughter with him forever and telling her she couldn't come to Soudul would be causing that to happen sooner then later.
It made things difficult, trying to decide what the best course of action was in this situation, how he should go about things. What was the right move? If he left her with the group then he would need to hope that she behaved and didn't wander off with Bisera to get into trouble again. If she tagged along with him there was the risk of Oblvionites as well as the various dangerous beasts that made the dark continent their home, Diabi Dragons amongst them. He didn't want her to be in danger but at the same time he knew that no matter what path he choose at this moment that there was going to be the chance of danger. He couldn't protect her from everything no matter how hard he might try and try he really did. It was difficult being a father some days, especially when he didn't have a father himself to emulate.
The fact that he had never met the man, despite really having hoped he might when he was younger, was one of few things that bothered Junjie. He could only hope that Keona didn't feel that same sort of pain since the girl was well aware that Junjie wasn't her father by blood, that the man might be out there somewhere. The two of them had to deal with that same shared thought, that their blood fathers may or may not be somewhere in the world, that they may or may not be alive. Keona had, in the past, expressed curiosity about who the man might have been and yet she'd never tried to run off to find him, instead seeing Junjie as her father.
It was something he was happy about because when he thought of his own father there just felt as though there was something missing. He should have known the man, grew up with him, learned from him, but he'd been gone before Junjie was even born. The only thing that he'd gotten from the Orderite had been his name and there was no way to know if it was his real name or a cover name, he had been being healed by a Dovaa after all, what if he didn't want to share his true name with her? He was the one person that Junjie wished that he could meet now, to show him that despite the man's absence that he had been fine without him. He'd grown strong, learned to wield powerful magic, had a wonderful daughter, and a grand group fo people that he traveled with. Despite the odds against him due to being born a hybrid he'd made it this far. It was something that would love to tell the man... though he had no idea if he was even alive.
"Hm, is it bad of me to want for something like that? To show off a bit? I can't say that I am much of a show off sort." He murmured to his Khehora in a thoughtful manner. He didn't want to appear childish for thinking about such things after all. No, he wanted to act the part of a grown man, one that had achieved all the things that he had been thinking about. There was no reason to throw them in the fact of anyone, especially a man he'd never met, but the desire was there. Not as though he would be meeting up with that man any time soon, not when he didn't even know if the man was still alive. That might back him worse, huh?
Shaking his head he decided that he likely shouldn't think too hard on it, not when it might very well make him a bad person. He was far from that, he was a healer after all! He'd done his best in the past to heal everyone that he ran across, even those who didn't care for him, those that didn't deserve it, and at one point even someone that had attacked him for being what he was. He'd run into a lot of things that should break a person down, had been broken down in the past on a few occasions, but he had found the strength to keep moving forward. He shouldn't allow himself to dwell in the past or think so hard about someone that he'd never even met before.
He supposed that, knowing he was going to seek even greater power soon, that he would soon be considered not only a true adult but also a 'Master' in his field even though he still felt as though there was a lot left that he could learn, a lot more that he could do. He shouldn't dwell on past mistakes, regrets, and weakness, he should instead strive to get stronger and walk taller. Due to the help that the Dovaa Sage had offered him it was something that he could do now, even if there were still those out there who would look down upon him for what he was. Sure, things would easier now, he'd be able to blend in more easily, but there was a part of him that didn't want to, instead wanting to show off who and what he was, to walk tall and proud even in the face of those who looked down upon those with mixed blood. He had to set a good example for his daughter after all. What would she think if he tried to hide what he was when she herself was unable to do so?
Giving a sigh he continued forward toward his destination, allowing his mismatched sets of wings to stretch out and give a little flap. He didn't care what others thought when they saw them, he would be proud of them, and show his daughter that they didn't have to hide. Instead when dealing with those of backwards, old school thought they merely had to be stronger and do what they could to ignore their ignorance. Something he should have done in the past on many occasions, especially when it had come to Lios. Nowadays he was much better terms with the man, chatted with him often when it came to find passage on a ship, but when they man had first found out that Junjie wasn't a mere Dovaa, the man had acted poorly and he'd let that hurt him. There was a part of him now that almost wished he'd taken a swing at the man even though it wasn't a very 'healer' thing to do. Probably a good thing that he didn't though, he didn't want to end up giving his fellow hybrids a reputation for violence or being the 'punch first, ask questions later' sort of people.
No, the more neutral path that he'd taken had been the better approach and allowed him to make friends with Lios even though it had taken some time on both their parts. He had forgiven him and there were others that he wanted to forgive as well, perhaps even his missing father. He wondered if it would help him going forward, to let go of past anger, even the anger at the leaders of the Dovaa and Orderite factions? A difficult thing to consider given what had caused his anger toward them, but just as he'd worked through tangled magic maybe he needed to work through tangled emotions too, especially old emotions. Allowing his anger toward Marcus and Aevah to continue was just foolish these days, it was such old anger, and letting it continue to stew wasn't a good thing.
If he could forgive those two then he could forgive anyone, up to and including that Diabi Khehora that dragged him into a battle that was a little over his head and that Oblivionite that had attacked him without provocation. He'd release old anger with it he felt that he would be able to grow that much stronger, perhaps even strong enough to reach one of the two great powers that the Sage's scrolls spoke of. There was so much to work on and work through, so much to consider, but he was sure that he had plenty of time to work through his issues on the ship ride to Soudul.

To The Oasis
Junjie had left home early, flanked by his Khehora, heading out of the city, seeking out some useful plants that grew out in the desert near to only a couple of the deeper oasis. It was where he was heading at the moment, toward an oasis not too terribly far from Tukyere. It should be a venture that will only take him until night fall to get to the oasis, collect his plants, and get home. Giving Abellio a glance he said, "We should only need a basket full of the sweet herbs that we are going for, that should be more then enough for the various potions I need to brew." The herbs weren't useful when it came to any sort of innate healing properties of their own but they were great for masking the strong, normally bitter taste of the medicine that he normally made for his customers. It especially helped where little children were concerned who hated bad tasting medicine.
"It will be good for us to get out." Abellio said, turning his head to nuzzle against Junjie's green streaked hair before looking forward again. It had been some time since they left Tukyere, too often busy with his work to go out on walks. It was a nice think to see or so the Ysali Alihora felt.
There was a little huff from Arjan as the Kiandri looked around before he said, "I don't mind the trip though you should consider doing something more then gather plants. You should fight some dragons as well, sharpen your skills. You can't just hang out in Tukyere forever. How will you ever do what is in those special scrolls of yours if you just slack off?" The Khehora shook his head, obviously disappointed in this trip. Here he thought that Junjie was getting back on track, but instead they were looking for sweet plants to make medicine taste better? It was so far from what he felt they should be doing that it made his tail twitch!
Giving a soft sigh, reaching out to pat Arjan on the head, Junjie said, "Perhaps, if we can get the plants collected quickly we can try to hunt a couple dragons? It had been some time since we've done that and I fear my battle magic might be a little rusty." As much as he hated to admit it. They had settled down in Tukyere and after that he hadn't really done a lot in the way of fighting, not when it seemed he was so often busy with patients that needed him. How could he go about sharpening his skills if he never focused on himself? He just feared appearing selfish to those he gave aid to.
"We need to see to it that the herbs are gathered first though, Arjan. They are quite important, as well as something I much prefer to gather by hand instead of buying them." He got better quality if he picked each and everyone of them by hand himself.
As they approached the oasis Arjan said idly, "We should just dig them up, then you can grow them back home instead of traveling so far to get them. I'm sure they will grow just fine in that healing room of yours, every other plant does." He blinked a couple times then shrugged, "Not that I care! I just mean if you grow them yourself then you will be able to focus more on your training instead of traveling so far for sugary weeds."
"Grow them at home? Hm, I probably could... I wonder if doing so would change the flavor of them. I wouldn't want to risk that. They are useful as they are, growing naturally... but if we can figure out how to grow them ourselves and they retain their properties." He gave a thoughtful sound, his wings twitching, before he finally decided, "We will bring back one plant as a test run." No reason not to at least try out Arjan's suggestion. If it helped save time when it came to making medicine then Junjie was on board.
Just as they arrived at the oasis someone came bursting out of the water, splashing it in all directions, soaking the Junjie and the two Khehora who were flanking him. The three stood there, a touch startled, as a rather good sized Gaili Dovaa came out of the oasis sans clothing. Upon realizing that final, important detail, Junjie couldn't help but to stare, even as the guy lifted a hand to wave at them, greeting them with a hearty and very friendly, "Hello there!"
