Yay you're here! Welcome to FEF! As a new member, a guild as developed as FEF must be very intimidating! You're probably wondering where to start! It's alright, I'm FEFGA, which stands for Fire Emblem Forever Guild Account, and I'm here to help you figure it all out!

Begin by reading this thread. After that, you may direct further questions Here or to a crewmember if you like.

Also, make sure to introduce yourself in This thread first thing!

If you have a problem, altercation, something serious you'd like the crew to discuss or a rule breaker to report, please either let a crewmember know personally or use this thread: Ask the Crew thread. Please remember that simpler questions can be answered in the Q and A thread. The Ask a Crew thread is for more serious matters that the crew will discuss as a whole.

So first let me give you a little rundown of FEF! Fire Emblem Forever was created in 2006 by Magegirl Nino! It began with a fan thread in regular Gaia. It gained 24 members before Nino created the guild. Each member of the original thread claimed a character. This was how we began the practice of giving a character to each individual. FEF has since been a very close knit community of people who love Fire Emblem. We have continuously had parties for each holiday and special events in which we play games and hand out prizes. In December 2007, we began the canon role play, but the first true role-play event started in October 2008.

Generally, FEF is a great place with great people. However, if you are causing a ruckus and making FEF less of a nice place to be, we'll deal with it accordingly.
Henceforth, the crew will keep track of given warnings in the crew forum.

1. Be respectful to everyone around you. If you are disrespected, contact the crew.
- Well that basically means be nice.
- Don't insult people. It starts fights.
- If you get in a fight, don't continue it, contact me, and I'll clear it up.
- No gloating or telling people their character sucks...
- Crew will not delete people's posts for the heck of it. If they disagree with some-one's opinion, they will ignore it.
- And make sure you respect our crew too! That's a big one. We've had several people banned because of that.
Consequence: Depending on the severity of the problem you caused, you may be given a warning. If you have received many warnings before and are known to have caused many problems in the guild, you will be banned.

2. Don't post in the main forum.
-The main forum is the one you are in when you press "View Forum" on the main page. Only the captain, the crew and I should post new threads.
- The introduction thread is for you to post in.
- Posting in the topics to request a character and a link card are obviously okay to post in.
- The subforums are for you to post in.
- Unless stated otherwise, do NOT post in the announcement threads.
Consequence: The thread will be moved and you will be informed.

3. You may post advertisements if you ask me first...
- You may post an advertisement, ONLY if you run it by the captain first. And ONLY in the chatterbox.
- We reserve the right to refuse your request to advertise if I find a reason I don't want it in my chatterbox.
Consequence: You will be contacted and either given permission and warned to ask next time or be asked to take it down. If you do not take it down when asked, it will be deleted by crew.

4. You should try and be active...
- Activeness is key to this being a successful guild and to you having fun. ^.^
- Post at least a couple of times a week... Please?
Consequence: Nothing really. If you are gone for a really really long time we may strip your character so someone else can use it.

5. Don't take a character without asking...
- Official Characters must be approved. You can't have one unless you ask first. Otherwise, how are we supposed to know the available characters?
- This includes taking a link card without asking.
- This does not include characters you wish to play in regular RPs in the RP forum. You can play whomever you want in there.
Consequence: You will be asked to take the linkcard off of your signature. If you do not comply, you may be banned.

6. Random threads go in the chatterbox.
- You may only post random things in the chatterbox. Because otherwise, everything would become quite messy.
- By random, we mean pretty much anything within allowance of the ToS, not just random things about Fire Emblem.
Consequence: You will be informed that your thread was in the wrong place and it will be moved.

7. Please do not ask to be part of the crew.
- Crew will be selected by me, only if I decide I need more help.
- Here's a tip... I select literate people who work hard, and love to stay active...
Consequence: You will not be selected to be Crew.

8. Please do not necropost old topics.
- Necroposting means reviving an old or dead topic with a new post.
- Topics whose last posts are older than three months are considered old topics.
- This does not apply to the chatterbox.
Consequence: You will be warned not to do it. If you ignore the warning and continue, you may be banned.

Crew List and Descriptions!

Magegirl Nino: Nino is the current captain of this guild. She created FEF in June of 2006 and has been with us ever since. She had a part in most of the planning and events that went on around the guild.

Nomad Rath: Rath was the captain of this guild after Nino resigned her post for personal reason. He has been vice captain since sometime near the end of 2006 and is currently a regular crew member. Alongside Nino, he has a part in mostly everything that goes on in FEF. He is currently taking a break from being captain.

Fire Emblem Forever: This is FEFGA. That's me!! Add me as a friend and I can send you newsletters! Donate gold or items to me and I can use those to make the guild parties better. Just start a trade or send a gift if you want to help, please!

Jisen Meizuki: This is Isadora. She helps with regular crew stuff, mainly acting as the best secretary ever, and sometimes draws event art. She's also the motivator. She gets us moving!

Manic Martini: FD became crew April 3rd, 2011! However, he's been with FEF for a very long time. He helps around with odds and ends and is very FEFabulous.

Ganon Firenight: Tibarn helps mastermind the main roleplay. He's made up a lot of key points and continues to enthusiastically sit back and play us like puppets. XD He does a lot of maintenance too. Moving around threads and such.

Marshmallow Kitty: This is Amelia, who was recently promoted. She's a very good helper and is good with being able to speak the minds of the members to the captain.

WhirlwindTerror: This is Gale! He heads development on the "hack" that will feature FEF's story. He also helps with various other things around the guild and is currently organizing the next newsletter. He took a break from being a crew member because of life issues and is now back. His past character was Vika, which is why some people may still call him by that name.

Crew Introductions Thread:
The crew put their personal introductions for all of you to see in this thread.

How Must the Crew act?
The Crew conducts themselves with respect for the members and for each other. The Crew work together to bring the best experience to the members. Nearly everything they do is for the benefit of the guild and the members. The crewmembers share the responsibilities to bring new and interesting things to the guild while continuing to keep the everything organized and working properly.

Responsibilities of the crew include but are not limited to the following:
-Keeping forums clean by erasing the old and managing the new.
-Always on the lookout for something that can be improved
-Helping new members and old members alike get used to the guild and learn it's ways
-Approving or denying members
-Planning for the canon roleplay
-Helping with funds and setup for parties
-Answer questions and give advice to members
-Solving disputes and problems around the guild

How should members treat the crew?

You don't have to be afraid of the crew! Please! If you have questions, suggestions, complaints or even if you just want to talk, you can approach any of us. We're here for you, and we're here to have fun. However, you must treat the crew with respect. Just basic respect is all that we ask. Don't cuss at us or yell at us if we do something you don't like. Just calmly explain your complaints.

How can a member become crew?

It's not easy. Here are some of the best ways to get looked at for the position of crew:
-Speak with good grammar. Don't use l33t or have frequent spelling errors.
-Be really active. We have to see you often to get a feeling of who you are and what you stand for. That's how we judge how well you'd do as crew.
-Have suggestions on how to make the guild better. This is a good quality because that's basically what being crew is about.
-Know your stuff. Know the guild well enough to help other members with their problems or questions. If you're already helping member, you're on your way.
-Always be kind and respectful to the members and the crew. Choose your words carefully and don't cause fights.

The top ten ways to never become crew!
Here are a few ways to alienate yourself from ever becoming crew.

1.) Causing drama and fights.
2.) Disobeying rules
3.) Spreading lies
4.) Being rude to the crew or other members.
5.) Being immature, or a smartass
6.) Bad grammar and l33t
7.) Being Closed minded
8.) Asking to be crew
9.) Spamming
10.) Not reading the rules

Village Gates: The main forum. This forum is for important announcements, rules, and character lists. Please do not post new threads.

Chatterbox: This is where you can post anything you want, as long as it's appropriate. Go there and have fun. Also, things might be announced in there. There may be various things you might want to check up on.

RP Forum: Anybody may start up an RP here that has to do with Fire Emblem. You may advertise your RP in the chatterbox to appeal towards prospective role-players who may wish to join. Organization is recommended. This forum is not for RPs that pertain to FEF's canon RP.

Strategy Sharing Forum: This forum can be used for helping people with the Fire Emblem games, and asking other members for help. You may also share your personal strategy and opinions, so long as you are prepared for people to disagree with you and are not abrasive.

Theater & Music Forum: You may post music or videos here, so long as they do not go against Gaia's ToS. We prefer it to be pertaining to Fire Emblem.

Contest & Giveaway Forum: Members may host contests or giveaways at their leisure. Crew will notify you if there is a problem with them. If you end up stealing other member's gold or go back on your word, prepare for harsh consequences, but I think you guys are smart enough to know how to do this correctly.

Marketplace & Quest Forum: Members may buy or sell items or artwork here. Members may also post their quests (a general term used when referring to obtaining any number of items for a particular reason) so that they can track their progress and other member's can donate if they so wish.

Plot, Character & Pairing Discussion Forum: Members may post topics pertaining to the objective and subjective evaluations of each game in any number of areas.

Learanian Legacies: Role-plays pertaining to FEF's canon role-play take place here.

Event Archives : All previous role-plays that have been a part of FEF's canon role-play are located here. They go as far back as Halloween '08.

Spriting & Art Forum: Members may show off their artistic talents here or discuss art or spriting. Be sure to specify if you created something or not. Stealing with be dealt with harshly.

Fanfiction Forum: Members may post their PG13 fanfictions here. Crew will notify you if something is not acceptable.

Mature Debate Forum: This is where you can have a mild debate about anything you wish. Don't flame; Vaida won't eat you, but Valter will get you. Seriously. If any crew sees ANY harsh posting, it will be dealt with asap. We hate family squabbles.

Quizzes & Games Forum: Here, you can play all your favorite forum games, and take quizzes! Feel free to post your own. Have fun. ^.^

Retired Threads & RPs Forum: This is the forum where we will keep threads that are no longer active. If you feel that the thread might be needed, go and post something that isn't "Bump", and it will be moved back into it's corresponding forum. Locked threads cannot be returned.

Conference Room (Crew Forum): Don't worry about this forum unless you're a crew member. If for some reason you find yourself with the ability to get in, without permission from the crew, this is a bannable offense and will be dealt with accordingly.

FEF Supports Forum: This is a fun thing we [we, as in Zelym] thought up where FEF members can make their own supports with other members! This way we can learn about each other more! =3 Go start a thread for your character.

Special Projects Forum: Sometimes a crew member or some other member will have some large idea that requires a whole subforum to do it. When those projects are not active, this forum remains locked.

Holiday Subforum: This is where events for holidays go on. Or just events. Or just whatever we want to put in there. Mainly for holiday events, though.

What is a Character and Why should I get one?
Your character is who you will be seen as in the guild! You can use them to roleplay, but you don't have to. Most members, if they know your character, will call you that instead of your Gaian name. Most members will have a character of their own. For instance, the current captain's character is Nino so that's what we call her. If you choose to play your official character in the main roleplay, you will be the only one with that character.

Why can't I use a character from the Fire Emblem Manga?
Well, the problem with characters from the manga is that the rules are drastically different from the Fire Emblem video games. For instance, promotion in the manga is temporary, like turning super Saiyan. In the video games, there's no such thing as Super Shaman or the like. Some characters have transformations and odd attacks. These would clash with our canon roleplay. Because of the obscurity of the manga, not everybody would know the rules. Therefore, we are not allowing characters from the manga, especially to participate in the larger roleplay.

How do I officially claim a character?
Claiming a character is fairly easy!
1. First of all, you need to make 20 meaningful posts in the guild to show that you are part of our community. Though it should be obvious, do not spam or necro to get these posts.
2. After you have done your 20 posts, look over this thread and choose a character. If the character is taken, you can still ask to claim it, since its current holder may be inactive. The crew will try to contact the current holder and determine if you can claim the character or not.
3. Visit This thread to post your choice. Please be patient while waiting for the confirmation.
4. PM a crew member if you have not received a confirmation in a week. Crew do have school and jobs, after all.

What about Original Characters?
We like to have them documented so that information on your character can be easily looked up during roleplay and we don't lose parts of the story. You may even obtain linkcards for original characters and be known by their names. Like choosing a canon character, you also need twenty posts in order to have an OC. This thread has all the information you need on documenting and using OCs in FEF. If you need help fitting your character to a story line, there are many around FEF that would help you with that. Crew would be happy to be of assistance as well.
*This is an amazing member-made thread on character creation.

What's a Linkcard, how do I get one?
A linkcard is what we call a signature banner that links back to FEF. It's basically your personalized I.D. card with the character of your choice on it. FEF members wear their linkcards proudly in their signatures or profile. They are not required, but they're fun. Also, it's an easy way for other members to get to know you. It could feature an OC, or more commonly a canon character that you earned. You may make your own linkcard if you wish. To get a linkcard made by our talented volunteers, go here!

Changing your Character
To change your character, pm Manic Martini or Jisen Meizuki with a character in mind. You should not change your character more than once a month. This may result in the guild not knowing who you are anymore, causing everybody to get confused! Oh no! =0

Character Limit
You may have one character from the games, and up to four original characters. The limit of characters we feel is fair for people to have (NPCs excluded) is five. Every member is also allowed to have one personal NPC.
If you would like to have two canon characters instead, you will need to make 2500 posts, and will only be able to have three OCs. The limit is here to help people from getting stretched too thin.

I'm leaving.
Okay, we'll miss you!! Please, if you officially leave FEF, let a crew member know so we can put your character back on the list. This is only fair to the other members.

Regular Roleplaying

We have two types of roleplay in FEF. Regular roleplay, and the guild wide roleplay. If you wish to roleplay regularly, go to the Roleplay forum. There, you may post a roleplay. The roleplay should have to do with Fire Emblem, of course. These roleplays will not be counted in the history of Learania. Please look over the rules for that individual forum.

The Guild Roleplay: Learanian Legacies

We have a rather in depth roleplay that the guild has been participating in since 2008 or so. It's a bit intimidating to get into, at first, but the crew and other guild members can certainly help you out! It began with Christmas events. Along with our regular games, we started incorporating small bits of roleplay with "Rathy Claus". Starting Halloween 2008, we began incorporating a large scale roleplay into all of the holiday events.

Now, the guild wide roleplay has become epic! It dominates our society now and has become a part of FEF's unique culture. During event times, the canon roleplay takes place in the event forum. If it's not a holiday or a party time, the roleplay takes place in the Learanian Legacies Forum. There, you will find the rules for roleplaying there.
Basically, you may post a new roleplay thread to do with Learania there. You should ask a crew member for help with getting involved.

Here are a few links to help you better understand the guild roleplay:

1. [x] - Inside the Learanian Legacies forum, this is Tales of Learania, a thread explaining the world, important characters and basic things you should know before getting started.

2. [x] - This is the event archives forum. There, you may read old threads from the events if you like. You don't have to, but you can.

Getting involved in the Guild Wide Roleplay

It's not really that hard, I promise! You don't have to know the whole history or anything, just basics. Now, getting started.

First, decide which of your characters you want to participate with. Then, you have to shape your character to fit our world. They could be from one of the Fire Emblem worlds from the games, or they could be from one of the countries on our continent. Refer to the first thread above for a summary of the world.

Then, you have to look for a way to enter your character. The easiest way is to ask a crew member for help or another member. All you really have to do is post. If you want a larger event role, the crew can help you get that as well.

Role-Playing Expectations

1. RP level- Well, first and foremost, for you to have fun with it! If you're wondering what 'level' we RP at, I can't really give you a definite answer. We don't decline anybody from RPing, no matter what level they're at. Truthfully, we're all at different levels. We do however, look down upon improper grammar and sheer illiteracy in RP. Do not fear though, because a number of members have grown from sloppy 'Barton Town' derp posters, to great role-players; you just have to want to grow! Even great role-players can still grow. If you aren't open to improving, you probably won't fit in :/ Overall, if I had to choose, we could probably be labeled as "semi-lit" on average.

2. Formats- Unless it breaks the ToS in some way or stretches somebody's page, we can't really tell you to change it. I will give you some advice on them though:
-If your format is larger than a well-made three paragraph post, you're probably doing it wrong.
- User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.not your character, no matter how much you think it may resemble yours.
- No, you don't need a format for people to like you; and it doesn't make you a better role-player, no matter how good it looks.

3. Weapons- This is generally wide open. You've all played FE, you know the weapons it has, but let me lay down some ground rules:
- No, you did not somehow have that legendary weapon from your world, when you were randomly whisked to Learania. No RPing legendary weapons from other worlds! We have our own- if you're lucky, maybe you can get one.
- Obscure weapons? Well, do they exist in real life and were they around in the medieval time period? We have some characters that have used non-game weapons; whips, sashes, etc. If you're a dancer or bard it's much more understandable, but if you're a class that actually uses typical weapons, there may not be as much leniency.
- You do not need to board the magical weapon bandwagon! We're not saying you can't, but seriously, magically imbued weapons do not grow on trees. Most people with them have come across them in RP- if you want one that badly, work for it.
- "Oh no, I'm a sword user and I've lost my sword! Enemies are coming at me and the only weapon next to me is an axe! I'm doomed!" ......Are you... kidding me..... USE THE AXE!!! Seriously, just because your character's class typically can't use something doesn't mean they can't realistically pick it up and use it if needed- mages train in magic, but they still have hands. If they need to pick up a sword to defend themselves, they won't be able to use it well, but don't just stand there and let yourself get killed! Does this make sense? However, the weapons your class can use are the weapons your character has trained in and the weapons you should carry with you.

4. Magic- Okay, magic is magic. Don't start trying to decipher it's functionality as if it were science. On the other hand, don't start trying to explain every obscure and impossible thing you want your character to be able to do with magic, either. Let's lay down a general consensus.
- Offensive magic is used through tomes. If your character is skilled enough, the tome does not have to be read, but still needs to be touched. Also, tomes do have limited usage. (think pages)
- Spells are cast by reciting incantations. More powerful spells reasonably have longer incantations.
- We do have some non-canon magic; Fear and barrier magic, as well as earth tomes. Bard songs and Dancer dances also can have some more unique effects; just don't go crazy with them.
- Just stick as close as you can to the actual FE canon; stretching this is a stretch.

While you weren't in FEF, you missed a ton of fun stuff! Here, I'll try to catch you up on all the FEF-oriented inside jokes and stuff you should know!

Newsletters
We used to do newsletters, but they are time consuming to put together. Currently, we are taking a break from making these, but would bring them back if members contributed things such as riddles, jokes, opinions, news, art, etc.

About Events
Pretty much ever since FEF began, we had guild events and parties! An event takes place pretty much every major holiday. The parties will take place in the Holiday Forum. That's always going to be the last forum in the list. We will usually have games such as spin the bottle, a search and find, maybe a crossword puzzle, dice roll for prizes, random number for prizes, three word story game, and we'll definitely have contests! The contests may include photo contests, art contests, Avatar contests, Mug and Spriting contests, and even fanfiction contests! Of course, we will also have the guild wide roleplay going on in there during parties, too.

Cool Stuff to Check out

FEF theme song: [X] (the lyrics are on the main page)
The theme song was created by a user named "DJ Muziq" in 2009 or so. Nino had the tune stuck in her head for a while, then plunked it out on the piano for DJ Muziq who came up with this awesome piece of work for FEF!

FETO: [X] This site allows you to play Fire Emblem battles and raise units online! Many FEF members have an FETO and would play with you if you wanted to. It's pretty fun. Make a free account at FEPlanet and then go down and click "Fire Emblem tactics online" under community features. Then, up in the right hand corner, click "Fire Emblem Tactics Online" once more to get started. If you have problems with account registration, contact a crew member for help.

The IM conversations thread: [X] This is a thread within the chatterbox where we archive funny conversations held in the blast! When you need a laugh, be sure to take a look~

FEF Classic Jokes

FEFAIL Boulder: Nino started this one.The FEFAIL boulder is a huge rock that lands on the head of those who fail and occasionally lurks over the heads of people whom are about to fail.

Behind the Door: Not so much a joke anymore, behind the door spawned the entire plot of the guild canon roleplay. It originated as people wondering about the door inside of FEFGA's house in towns. We speculated many things about what could be behind the door and came up with... NERGAL'S MOM! So it was a big surprise to the guild when the Halloween '08 roleplay was near it's end when we went behind the door and found... Nergal's mom. We called her Granny N and came to find out her real name later. Most epic scene ever, go read it in the event archives.

838: The lsugh face! The pagination face! Gave upon its beauty! Simply put, 838 is a face. It started as a typo that our Amelia made when intending to type the face 83. The 838 became an FEF meme that is now commonly used as the face people make while "paginating" and the sound they make while making the face is a "lsugh", which is another typo from Amelia.
