AGAIN! AGAIN! N O T H I N G W I L L H A P P E N . . . Luis and Xai had freed the 'sitter from the clutches of Evari and Faris. Amazingly enough nothing horrible happened and nothing had caught fire. If anything everyone was thoroughly entertained. Luis and Xai agreed it was some sort of weird phenomenon and obviously someone replaced their daughters with calmer quieter clones that sat around and helped make cookies and played games with the 'sitter. Either way they were pleasantly surprised.
Faris was intensely interested in the ...objects her mother had brought home from the shop where they had gone to see Switch.
"Wills it be like me?" Faris asked as she stared at where it rested on the dinner table.
"I doubt it," Luis said with a small chuckle. Surely lightning would not strike twice. Especially this sort of lightning. She moved about the kitchen and got some warm milk and honey made for the two of them to sit down and enjoy for a moment. They were spending precious time together as mother and daughter.
The Gargoyle wrinkled her nose as she reached out and tentatively poked at the dark wooden crossbars, "Y'suuuureses? Looks like it could!"
The Satyress laughed and shifted her shoulders as she set Faris' cup down before her and moved to sit nearby, "If it does ..."
If it does what would they do? They would just...accept it into the family she supposed.
"Whatwhatwhat?" Faris insisted reaching across to tug at her mother's hand to get her attention and drag her out of her thoughts.
"If it does then I guess our family will just be that much bigger," Luis laughed a bit at her impatient daughter, "c'mon when ye finish your milk and honey I'll read ye a story b'fore bed..."
Faris squeaked and wiggled in her chair, "I hope it doeses. I want someone to plays with that liveses right here! I won't have to goeses out all the time!"
The Satyress laughed again and shook her head, "T's healthy t'go out but it would be good to 'ave more family, always good t'ave more family," Luis said warmly and watched as her daughter worked at drinking the concoction meant to calm her down enough for a night's sleep. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't it was a chance Luis was willing to take. Faris wasn't old enough to be up and about on her own at night.
Once the pair was done with their cups they were rinsed out. The mother and daughter duo wandered off for story time leaving the knife and crossbar alone on the table...Unattended.

SHOULD HAVE KNOWN... I W A S S O W R O N G ! ! ! The only one around to witness the 'birth' of the marionette thief was a one eyed creature who was busily licking the windowpane.
Critter had decided that the window tasted very much like a cat's meow and it was considered quite green, which apparently was translation for tasty because the one eyed Nutbar continued licking the windowpane with exuberance that only it could show. He was continuing to lick when suddenly there was a cracking of wood and the ting of metal somewhere behind it. Critter paused mid-lick as its eye moved to peer behind it only to see nothing there especially not on the table. It seemed the same as always there was the item that Luis had left behind but wait there was something off about it...
The Nutbar couldn't quite put a finger on it but it wasn't like it was a few moments ago and thus he floated over toward the table to take a better look with a curious eye. Everything seemed the same thus far, even leaned to 'sniff' it with a non-existent nose and found nothing off. A long, fat tongue slid out from Critter's mouth and he slapped it up against the knife and the crossbar covering them with liberal amounts of slobber.
Still sounded like purple, but wait it was much fainter than the first time he managed to take a lick on it, right before Luis made him stop and go do something else. The Nutbar was so deep in 'thought' that it didn't realize the mischievous figure grinning behind it.
Suddenly the boy reached out and grabbed at Critter's wispy tail and cried out, "GOT YA!"
Critter screamed.
And screamed.
...AND SCREAMED.
The creature kept screaming until Faris and Luis burst through the door only to stare first at the creature and then at the boy on the floor with a crossbar floating above his head. The boy was laughing as if he had heard the best joke ever, obviously he was amused at the scare that he had given the nosey being that was still screaming up until Luis stormed over and swatted the back of his head.
Critter stopped but did not complain of pain from the swat and just blinked at her with one round eye before he uttered, "Intruder."
Faris beamed happily as she moved and knelt next to the boy and poked at him until he stopped laughing, the two stared at each other before Faris spoke up first, "I y'am Faris. You my new brother?"
Luis was about to interject when suddenly she saw the 'dead' items on her kitchen table (now covered in drool). She wasn't displeased or angry though she did reach up and pinch the bridge of her nose as she recalled her words back in the shop where she had gotten the conjoined items from. Lightning did strike twice it seemed, "Aye that be yer brother," she muttered softly before the boy could speak up. "I'm Luis, yer mother, and the thing y'scared the daylights out of is Critter."
"Heeeeeeei~," Critter uttered dazedly.
The boy looked from one to the other feeling momentarily bewildered before he got up to his feet and straightened his crossbar. He pointed at himself with a large grin, "I am Wolfram," he named himself because he could and because it was the first name that struck into his mind.
Faris suddenly flung her arms around him and keened, "Hello brother! I am happys to have you!"
Luis sighed and went to the pair and started to usher them forward, "C'mon let's get you set up in your own room. We'll decorate it later."
Wolfram tilted his head back at his gracious parent and beamed, "Thank you, Mother~!"

ALL I SEE IS MINE! E X C E P T F O R T H I S . . . "Woof!"
Wolfram's eyebrow twitched a bit and he ignored it. That was not his name no matter how many times his sister insisted on using it and he wasn't going to listen to it. Ever since she called him by that name and responded to it once she had decided that would be his nickname forever and ever and he had no say in it. He'd just see about that.
"Woof!" the voice was angry, annoyed, even more so now that he had decided to ignore her.
He continued to fiddle with the handheld game system and hum a bit in order to drown out the voice. Wolfram wasn't going to give her the satisfaction of a response but wait...How did he get a hold of this game system? It wasn't his though he vaguely recalled that his sister, Faris, had one in her possession not too long ago. Huh! That was quite the coincidence. Oh well, it was his now no matter where ever it came from. He hummed loudly and obnoxiously along to the music that streamed out of the handheld game and was content to ignore the voice calling for him by the wrong name.
Faris stormed over and stood next to him and staring her hands placed upon her hips as she glared down at him, "WOLFRAM," she yelled quite displeased at the fact that he was ignoring her.
The messy haired boy jumped a bit and glanced up at her curiously. Was that his name? He wasn't quite sure anymore the shock to his system seemed to have suddenly given him a case of amnesia. Yep. That is totally what happened he turned back toward the game and focused on that. Maybe playing the game would help him get his memory back!
She let out a small growl as she moved behind him and grabbed at the cheeks of his face with her fingertips and pulled at them, though not too hard, "Woof, Woof, Woof!" she whined as she pulled trying to get and keep his attention. He had her game system! It was hers she saw her name written on the top part of it! How dare he try to pretend otherwise! It made her so...AUGH.
"Not polite to bark," he replied, "you're a gargoyle not a dog~...Sometimes wonder if there is a difference," Wolfram smirked a bit as he played for some reason he liked working his sister up into a fever pitch. "Now let go of my face, it's starting to hurt."
Faris huffed and threw her arms around his head and hugged, she careful not to bump into the strings or crossbar. Her arms obstructed Wolfram's vision of the game's screen. "Gives it back Wolfram 'r'else!"
"Oh was this yours?" Wolfram replied with an honestly shocked voice. The young boy had seen it lying about and just plucked it up and claimed it at his own. Sure he had seen the name written on it but that seemed to do little to prevent him from claiming it, "I was just ... borrowing it."
"Borrows means you asks first! Not after you plays with it a whiles," Faris insisted and rested her chin on top of his head, her horns just grazed under the slightly low floating crossbar. Her arms unwrapped from Wolfram's head and reached for the game, "I paids for it gimme, pleases? Woof it is not fair you take my things," she whined again with a small frown. The Gargoyle didn't want to hurt her brother but she did want her handheld back very badly she wanted to play with it. She had worked so hard to help Mama around the tavern by doing dishes to get enough money for it.
Wolfram uttered a small disappointed sigh as he turned off the game and offered it up to his sister having had enough of her pleading besides she wouldn't leave him alone until she got it back, "Can I borrow it later?" he asked swallowing just a bit of his pride to get the question out.
Faris let out a happy keen as she plucked it up and disentangled herself from her brother and hugged the handheld game system to her chest. Her green eyes narrowed a bit over at her brother as he actually asked for the game. Her wings twitched a bit and her tail swayed side to side before she finally said, "Yeahs. I'm not a mean-face like you," she grinned and stuck her tongue out at him.
He rolled his golden eyes at her words and stuck his tongue back out at her, "Thanks," he replied as he got out of his seat and went to hunt the kitchens for something edible. Being so bratty seemed to have worked up his appetite, plus his cheeks hurt, maybe nicking some ice cream from the fridge would help!
