Life Hath Immortality
@RGI: They choose to abuse animals knowing that it can affect the humans eating it. Studies have shown that giving animals steroids to make them grow faster can have the same effect on humans (especially females). They simply don't care. they make more money this way, because they pump animals out faster. Quality is not an issue to them, money is.
These companies do last long. And they are some of the most popular. As of 2005, four companies controlled the processing of over 80% of the country's beef and three of these same four companies (along with an additional fourth) process over 60% of the country's pork. All four companies have expressed that they do not treat their animals as humanly as they should. Undercover footage (taken by the Humane Society) reveals they are lying. There is NO humanity whatsoever in how they are treating their animals. The top four companies are the same as of 2009.
I think I just explained they have VERY high income. Most of their money comes from fast food chains: McDonalds, Taco Bell, Wendy's, Burger King, and more.
Kansas and surrounding states.
Very few. Many people aren't aware of what is happening, and if it brought to their attention they discard it. Because they love meat.
Hope that answers your questions.

Interesting.
But I find it more interesting that most of that meat, according to you, is going to fast food restaurants, where people (like my friend Kristy) are going to get their breakfast everyday.
With such a high demand I can see where they would need to have higher amounts of products, and unfortunately, life is too slow.
I am not approving of their methods, merely justifying.
Just being a child who grew up on a farm myself, watching as we slaughter my own animals, I find it hard to understand these claims.
Abusing the animal damages the products - therefor the product is undesirable.
Sure, we lock the sheep up in the horse trailer (which is always too small of space) the day before slaughter, but we have reason to do this.
They can't break out of the horse trailer and get food or water, which they cannot have when their about to be slaughtered as it just gets EXTREMELY messy if you do.
Course, I don't live in Kansas.
I live in Washington.
Two completely different areas; Two completely different lifestyles.
