Parents don't read those books, and my sister does. It'll only be a matter of time. . . Dad doesn't read, though. I think that's a shame.

Mom doesn't read much. Except for Paula Deen cook-books and that one Paula Deen autobiography. Mom's a HUGE Paula Deen fan and the recipes of her's that Mom has tried are usually pretty good.
Dad only reads non-ficiton about Mobsters and dead Celebrities, Dan Brown, and the Wicked series. So there's no chance he'd ever read Twilight (thank God!)
So there's no chance it'll ever happen. I've told them that the Twilight vamps are more like Pixies who drink animal blood than actual Vampires. After seeing Dance Flick, I told Dad that was almost EXACTLY like the movie at the end. The acting is that bad, the "vampires" look like that, and Edward actually flies like that. Dad looked horrified! biggrin

My mom is too busy either doing important stuff or reading actual romance novels. My dad... I don't even think he reads that much, let alone what the teenagers would like.

Although my parents are sadly stupid enough to read twifail, I think they might have had enough common sense to listen to me when I stated the sexist & ped0philia characteristics of the book.
So no, they do not read it...

They read it because their daughters/gay sons are obsessed and beg them to read it until they do, and pretend to like it until they actually do.
Psych 101, people.

Both of my parents and I have read all four. *hides from the rocks sure to be chucked at that admission* I really didn't care for the series, and neither did they, thank god. I'm still not sure how the heck twilight got past the editors' desks. I'm really, really not. Honestly, my opinion on twilight is that it was an alright idea, but the execution was s**t. The characters are bland, the writing is childish, and overall it's just retarded. (I read them because I prefer to be able to go; This is stupid, it sucks, and this is why it sucks - as opposed to; Everyone says it's teh sux so I h8 it too!!!!111) Oh. And of course, Bella's complete lack of a sense of self. (SPOILER!!! Although in the last one when Bella nearly kills Jacob for imprinting (or whatever she called it) on Renesmee, I cracked up and nearly woke the whole house. (*is a night person, everyone else was sleeping XD) UNFORTUNATELY.... I have a pre-teenaged sister. *is most likely gonna have to sit through all the damn movies* *sigh* but then again it might be good for giggles. I'm actually kinda interested in how Dakota's gonna do as Jane. *shrug*

My dad doesn't read much outside of Willies Jeep catalogs and Singer sewing machine handbooks, I've never seen him with an actual book. He's not read Twilight.
My mom... would probably never go near them. She was an English major in college, and went on to do journalism. If she read any of SMeyer's purple-prose, I'm sure she would laugh. My mom introduced me to two of my favorite books of all time: The Bell Jar, and Gone with the Wind. She'd never read Twilight, I'm positive. 3nodding

Princess Julia Of Heart My closest girl cousin is like in love with the books and named her dog Bella Oh my God. I think your cousin is my abusive childhood friend. I'm pretty sure all of my cousins like Twilight, or at least the ones on my mom's side. But I haven't seen any of them since, like, summer 2007, and I think only one had read it then. The irony being that my mom specifically told me to stop reading New Moon because she thought it was setting a bad example.

My mother started reading Twilight last night. I was going out to the garage to get a Coke from the other fridge, and I passed my mother reading the book on the lounge in the other room. Here's how the conversation went:
Me: What you readin'? My mother: Twilight. Me: ............Okay.
I didn't want to say anything bad about the book. I'll let her form her own opinion. Hopefully, she won't flourish into a Twitard like my sister, because I know my mother's more into Harry Potter. I hope so.

My mom doesn't have the time nor the inclination to read that accursed series of books. However, my sister had indeed read the books. It's just lucky that she didn't turn out to be a Twitard! Otherwise, I'll be readying myself for war at the home front.

My parents would never read Twilight. They didn't let me read Harry Potter-- they probably wouldn't even touch Twilight. (They're more accepting now though)
And my sister's friend's parents won't let their daughter read it. Which I'm happy about. (But kinda sad, too, 'cause the girl is a freshman in high school and isn't allowed to read anything without her parents permission basically)

My mom read the whole series (I did as well) and we had a lengthy discussion as to how the interaction between Bella and Edward fits right into the whole pre-women's liberation attitude of Mormonism.
It was lovely. We then watched the movie and laughed.

My immediate family hates it.
I actually read it, told my family about it ... the first thing my brother said was, "... sexists." and my mom goes, "That's ******** s**t. I'd never read anything that stupid." ... I think my mom hates it more than I do and she never read it, but she's a die-hard horror fan.
My dad was neutral to it and didn't mind the movie. However, he slowly started hating it, especially after the mtv awards where Twilight almost won every award.
Though ... a rather large portion of my family is Mormon, and all of them absolutely ADORE Twilight.
