Name: Abigail Baker Gender: Female Age: 25 Patrol: White Shadow Rank: Private Appearance: Abigail is a good five feet tall with five or six inches on the top to give her an overall average height. Her hair is blonde, often left down, her long bangs combed to each side to keep it in some amount of array and out of her eyes. Her skin is fairly light, thanks to her time in The City. She didn't spend much time in the sun there. Her eyes are a dull brown, contrasting her vibrant personality and hair greatly. Personality: Abby is quite possibly the most perverted woman ever to set foot on the planet, seeing even the most innocent of parts of a conversation as an innuendo of some sort. She's none too bright and tends to say some pretty silly things, often to the irritation and annoyance of HailWing. She speaks with a somewhat uncommon accent that, with respect to her family and friends, she has absolutely no idea about its origin. Her humor is, in the nicest of terms, very controversial. She makes many Yokel jokes, poking fun at the people at the farms and ranches where she grew up. Given that no one has come up to her and said "Ma'am, I am a Yokel..." etc.etc, she hasn't had any negative comments... Other than HailWing's utter refusal to accept them as legitimate attempts at humor. Abigail has a strange obsession with history. History: She was born to a pair of ranchers just outside the city and spent a good deal of her childhood helping out with breaking horses and yoking bulls for sowing the fields in the farms. It was difficult work, but her parents had always remarked that she was built for hard labor. Her poor performance in school except for Physical Education was a testament to that. When she turned fifteen her family moved to The City, much to her own despair and loathing. So much was her hatred for the move, that she made few friends and spent most of her free time doodling or writing (poorly) in her room about the old days. Abigail, or "Crabby Abby", as her classmates liked to call her, had only two options for her future at this point: 1) Wait and move back to the ranch when she was an adult, or 2) Apply for the Academy and become a wolfrider.
Abby's choice was, quite obviously, to join the Academy. Not only would she get out of the wretched city, there was also the chance that she would bond with a wolf. Even if she didn't bond, she could still move back to farms and ranches. Either way, it was better than the situation she was in. So, at the tender age of fifteen, she bid The City adieu and went to work on the longest and most difficult project she'd ever done. She loathed the Drill Sergeant, wished that the poor excuse for the scum of the Earth would 'accidentally be locked out of The City' to eke out a hardscrabble existence of poverty and despair. Having assumed that she wouldn't bond, she had an entire plan worked out in her mind about how she would get him there. Assuming at the age of twenty before breeding season had even started that she wouldn't bond, she planned to 'go out with a bang'. Fortunately or unfortunately, depending on one's view of the subject, she bonded at the last possible minute to HailWing.
Her Apprentice years were about as fun as her Academy years, meaning not at all. Trying to teach a wolf that was already smarter than her was a riduculous task that HailWing had refused to take part in anyway. She became a Private due mostly to HailWing's surprising intelligence and her own excellence in physical training. A wolf pair needed balance, they said, and theirs definately had it. And since HailWing reached maturity, she spent a great deal of her time criticizing Abby's stupidity. It was just her luck that she'd be stuck with an intellectual, but it was thanks to this bond that she was able to gain a sense of humor about things. For the first few months, they did nothing but argue. It got to the point that Abby did everything in her power to want to be less like her wolf. It took a very short amount of time to improve her attitude and become more sociable with that as her motivation. After this change, they attracted like magnets. They don't like to call themselves friends because of their history (and inherit stubborness), but they've reached a mutual understanding. Name: HailWingGender: FemaleAge: 5 ~As of AL 109-Pack: White ShadowRank: GammaPersonality: Aloof and unsociable to everyone she doesn't know, leaving little room to make friends. To those she does know, she is condescending and tends to think little of whatever intelligence they do have. She prides herself on her smarts and because of this air of superiority, finds it difficult to communicate with others. With Abigail it is easy because she knows full well of her stupidity. They don't argue often anymore, if at all. HailWing just likes to poke fun at Abby from time to time (several times a day).History: HailWing was the runt of her litter, weighing significantly less than her siblings and growing to several inches less than their size. There was no competition for milk in the cave, though. Their mother, father, and their respective riders saw to that. Despite their attempts to cover up such differences, HailWing wanted desperately to make up for her lack in that area. It was because of this determination that she learned most things quickly. If she couldn't be big, then at least she could be intelligent. Even though she was smaller than her siblings, she was the first to exit the cave. Logic told her there was nothing to fear. She bonded quickly with Abigail, but was in denial about it the entire time, searching through the crowd of Recruits for a smarter person that she could possibly bond to. Looking back, she finds her actions that day to have been incredibly stupid. She had already bonded. There was nothing she could do about it.
It took less than a week to master her new rider's language and even less time to figure out how to get on every single one of her nerves. Abby had learned to do the same. It was for this fact that her first few months outside the cave were quite miserable. Something changed in Abigail, however, that made things more bearable to say the least. It was gradual. Every subtle change was a case of 'blink and you'll miss it'. In HailWing's opinion, they get along very well now. With her inability to communicate with most everyone, this is saying something.Posting Color: Dodger Blue~Relationships~Family: Stardust (Littermate), Moonstride (Mother), SnowySky (Father)Friends: ---Lover: EmeraldWindAcquaintences: FlameFrost (Apprentice), WoodWhisp
