Dyne Valentine Warning: Whovian content aheadCeribri I've seen all those episodes multiple times, and I have noticed it was Tosh there. However, I'm not entirely sure that she knows about the Doctor. Probably just 'some guy' (from UNIT) who happened to know about the pig. I don't think too many people can just barge into that place. xD Yes but I think that during this time she was apart of Torchwood and her being as smart as she is researched Torchwood and how it was founded to make me think that she knew about the Doctor before she met him. Although she wouldn't recognize him now because he has regenerated since the last time she has seen him. Didn't Jack say something like: "Wait ten years or so and I'll get you out of here.." ..not much researching going on then. And she wouldn't care that much about something that UNIT was involved in, honestly. Also true, but since she was surprised to see the Torchwood people when she was with Tommy, makes me think that none of them know all that much, save for Jack. And as for the Doctor, I don't think she's mentioned it to Jack because she didn't know it was the Doctor. And he looks different now anyways. Torchwood is more on the 'fight aliens' than the 'find the Doctor' angle, thanks to Jack. razz Quote: Quote: What? Oh, her. Yeah. And then he was devastated when she left. I think he liked her in the first place because she didn't quite fit in, like him. Or something. Oh yeah, I felt horrible when she left him. =[ One of the few times I like S1 Owen, despite all the crap he pulled. ~Since we agree on this one subject, let's drop it and focus on the others, ne? xD~ Quote: Quote: He's a bit of a romantic at heart (deep, deep down xD) but that was when he started to change.. and it led up to him telling Tosh (Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang) that he's just gonna wait for the right person. (aka: beginning of subtle hints that he likes Tosh to set up another subplot) Yeah, or you forgot a huge example. In Adam the tides changed and Owen was the one who was hitting on Tosh. One of my favorite episodes of the second series btw :p Yup, it showed how he felt about her. Easy giveaway there. Quote: Quote: He didn't know the Doctor was in Torchwood. He just knew that these people were searching for him and would do whatever it took, and Jack wasn't going to give up information like that if he could help it. (sort of like how Jackie is protective of the Doctor's whereabouts) Jack only just finds out about the Doctor being involved with Torchwood when he meets up in Season Three of DW and explains that "I changed Torchwood in your honor". Yeah and unlike Martha's mother is :p. Seeing how easily she gave away information to the Master. Sad since I figured it was the Master while watching the Lazarus Experiment. I had one of those moments when I figured it out. Yeah.. I was spoiled but I would have figured it out then. Lazarus Experiment was just an epic fail to me.. it was like "DUH" .. even my friend figured it out. (She only knew about the Master from hearing about the Classic one) Quote: Quote: But it's Ianto's Pterodactyl. Which is pretty cool. ^^ I'm really glad that Ianto has a bigger role than in the first series where he was just the coffee boy. Woohoo! And apparently he's the only one who can get the coffee machine just right. Jack's gotta keep him now. rolleyes mrgreen Quote: Quote: You've got a point there. Jack clearly has a past with John and the Time Agents (timeline 1), and with the old Torchwood (timeline 2). Either way, there have been memories popping up that Jack clearly didn't want to see again, thanks to John. This also could be a sort of vendetta that John might be imposing on Jack because of Jack's actions during his first life. Again, you could be right. Quote: I really don't see RTD keeping Grey on the show for very long and at least if he does not kill him off Grey might just say "Thanks. I missed you Jack" and leave. Yeah, but honestly.. how dumb would that be? Like if everybody died/regenerated at the end of Doctor Who... it would be completely stupid not to mention everyone would be upset that we finally know who Grey is and then never get character development. Only way to prevent that is for him to join Torchwood or die, honestly. Quote: Quote: He'd probably tell Ianto. xD They've been through so much already, so why not? rolleyes Yeah, but don't forget his feelings for Gwen are stronger than his for Ianto. rolleyes That's pretty debatable unless you're a Gwack fan; then it's hopeless. rofl Kidding. I think he likes Gwen but done nothing so far because of the fact that she has a boyfriend (now a husband). He's got some morals, unlike...the rest of the team... xD Ianto, however, is fair game. He clearly cares about Ianto and makes it a point to show it. whee Quote: Quote: It was kinda cute in the first few stories of Season One, but after that it was more like product placement. DX At least the references between Jack and Martha were worth it, but they weren't as meaningful because of all the lines that Jack keeps throwing around. >_> I don't mind if they mention the Doctor, but I wish they would just say "The Doctor" like how they did in the series one finale of SJA. I was happy to hear just in plain words "THE DOCTOR" instead of jumping around so to have a little club where if you don't know Who we are talking about then you're not in the club, but I agree with you fully. The references between Jack and Martha were appropriate because anyone would have a similar conversation if you were a member of the End of the World Survivors Club. XD I thought that was Hermits United? XDD And yeah, the "Who are you talking about" "Exactly".. sort of thing is annoying.. they might as well say 'blue box' and 'raxicoricofallapatorius'. stare And did you notice that the thing that flashback!Tosh was making was a sonic device that just happened to look like something we all love, but it was bulkier? surprised (That was the most interesting part of her flashback, honestly)

Ceribri Didn't Jack say something like: "Wait ten years or so and I'll get you out of here.." ..not much researching going on then. And she wouldn't care that much about something that UNIT was involved in, honestly. From the timeline it does look like it does not take him that much time because she ends up working at a morgue doing an autopsy on a Sliveen. I know she wouldn't care much for UNIT but I meant that she would do research on Torchwood to understand more about it. Quote: Also true, but since she was surprised to see the Torchwood people when she was with Tommy, makes me think that none of them know all that much, save for Jack. Torchwood is more on the 'fight aliens' than the 'find the Doctor' angle, thanks to Jack. razz Yeah, but I am wondering why Jack is hovering this veil over his team. I know he's trying to rebuild Torchwood from the ground up but they should know more about why it was founded and it would be more of "defend" the Earth and capture the Doctor angle. :p Quote: One of the few times I like S1 Owen, despite all the crap he pulled. ~Since we agree on this one subject, let's drop it and focus on the others, ne? xD~ Yeah Quote: Yup, it showed how he felt about her. Easy giveaway there. Yeah, and it was nice seeing Tosh not being closed up and the one whose stuck at the base behind a monitor. Quote: Yeah.. I was spoiled but I would have figured it out then. Lazarus Experiment was just an epic fail to me.. it was like "DUH" .. even my friend figured it out. (She only knew about the Master from hearing about the Classic one) Yeah the episode was not one of the best ones from the third seires but it also helped the plot go along with the Harold Saxon *taps fingers on desk* What a nice guy surprised Quote: ]Woohoo! And apparently he's the only one who can get the coffee machine just right. Jack's gotta keep him now. rolleyes mrgreen LOL! Yeah watching Owen trying to work the coffee machine made me laugh XD Quote: Again, you could be right. yup, which is why I love this show because it keeps us geeks talking about what's going to happen next whee Quote: Yeah, but honestly.. how dumb would that be? Like if everybody died/regenerated at the end of Doctor Who... it would be completely stupid not to mention everyone would be upset that we finally know who Grey is and then never get character development. Only way to prevent that is for him to join Torchwood or die, honestly. True, but I can see Grey really holding Jack back from doing the same stuff as he usually does. I would not mind seeing Grey in Torchwood but then we should just have to wait and watch this weekend for the next episode of Torchwood and Doctor Who *going to be a great weekend* =D Quote: rolleyes That's pretty debatable unless you're a Gwack fan; then it's hopeless. rofl Kidding. He clearly cares about Ianto and makes it a point to show it. whee Now I need to watch that show >_> *Wants the real BBC to come to the US already* And that's true and about morals that is very true XP. I wonder if they did end up killing Rhys at the end of series one. What would actually be happening between the love triangle that would be created because Gwen still has feelings for Jack because if you remember when she talked to the shapeshifter in Something Borrowed she clearly showed that she still has feelings for Jack and that if she had not met Rhys she would have fallen in love with Jack. Quote: I thought that was Hermits United? XDD And yeah, the "Who are you talking about" "Exactly".. sort of thing is annoying.. they might as well say 'blue box' and 'raxicoricofallapatorius'. stare That too XD I remember someone making a t-shirt design of that club. Hermits United Meeting every ten years to discuss about caves. XD XD Yeah, but on a bright note when Jack and the Doctor taught Rose how to say "Raxicoricofallapatorius" I learned how to say it XP "Raxicorico" "fallapatorius" Quote: And did you notice that the thing that flashback!Tosh was making was a sonic device that just happened to look like something we all love, but it was bulkier? surprised (That was the most interesting part of her flashback, honestly) I'm glad I was not the only one to think that! Other people (such as Suzie) could have ratted out to UNIT or something that would jeopardize not only the Doctor, but Jack too. Jack doesn't wanna be a lab rat. Dying hurts. DX Quote: Quote: Yup, it showed how he felt about her. Easy giveaway there. Yeah, and it was nice seeing Tosh not being closed up and the one whose stuck at the base behind a monitor. I can't wait. It'll be longer for me though because I'd have to find the finale episode online again. I'll be gone for the next two airings on BBCA. Haha... that's how I just *knew* that it was shapeshifter!Jack because he'd never do that to Gwen.. the closest he did get was dancing and that was in front of everybody and their brother. xD Gwen clearly likes Jack. She was talking to him in front of Rhys and saying "Who else would marry me, with what I have to go through (working at Torchwood)" and she looks pointedly at Jack. Basically.. Jack didn't ask, Rhys did. xD She probably still loves Jack, but she's going to stay loyal to Rhys. She refuses to retcon him because she wants him to know exactly what's going on. Sorry for the wait Ceribri Yes, but... he specifically said she'd be stuck there for ten years.. the show just speeds it up because who wants to see ten years of what we already saw what she had to live through? I don't think there's that much research to do about the old Torchwood, either. Nobody other than Jack knows. Yeah but it doesn't make sense for me because about 3 seasons ago she was...hmmm maybe UNIT forced her to do the autopsy. *over thinking* Quote: Yes, but also the fact that he's got that special connection due to the fact that Rose made him immortal. DX Yeah, maybe that would work and he ends up maybe working for some other group or maybe have him found another Torchwood group to continue on Jack's dream. *ponders* That sucks >_> I have BBC America and they are very close to the BBC. pirate google isohunt pirate Quote: Wait, what? xD Watch what show? Haha... that's how I just *knew* that it was shapeshifter!Jack because he'd never do that to Gwen.. the closest he did get was dancing and that was in front of everybody and their brother. xD Gwen clearly likes Jack. (Nice change from the confess/retcon tactics of Season One xDD) Gwack >_> Yeah, but the only reason that Rhys is still on the show is because RTD likes the actor XD but I found that interesting because it was all secrets from Gwen and now she's telling everyone about Torchwood. Then again, remember at the first episode of Season 2 when Jack asks an old woman if she's seen a fish(or something) diving a car and after they left she said "bloody Torchwood" XD it's like EVERYONE knows about Torchwood. So much for a secret organization. Quote: ]I want that shirt now. mrgreen XDD I think that part was put in there for the fans to learn how to say it too. That would be amazing if that was the master's Laser Spanner.

Why did they bring Owen on a mission like that? My sister and I were freaking out half the episode because WHAT IF OWEN GOT HURT? Honestly, what if he just got a black eye or something and had to go around looking like hell for the rest of however long he happens to live? And then that glass. It might've been sort of amusing if he got beheaded and just hung around as a head, but...
And we had two boredom montages. Are Tosh and Owen going to bond over their shared ability to teleport while bored? xd
Oh, and that thing with Owen's fiancee with her head cut open and that thing on her brain. GACK. HORRID.
I want Tosh to be reunited with her mother. PLZ.
Ianto in civvies looked obscene. xd Ianto wears a suit! And now we know why he has such a crapsack job. He almost volunteered to be Jack's personal bootlicker, didn't he?
And, oh, UNIT! You used to be NICE. It's no longer fun to stay at U-N-I-T...[/villagepeople]

Dyne Valentine The main thing I enjoyed about Ianto's flashback was because it confirmed my guess that was him at Canary Wharf and that was Martha's cousin(who was played by her). I originally thought it was not them because the woman who played Lisa was not Freema. I wonder if behind the scenes if Martha and Ianto talked about her cousin and what really happened to her. Uh... no, it wasn't. Ianto and Lisa both worked at Canary Wharf, but Lisa wasn't Martha's cousin. Martha's cousin and her boyfriend quite definitely died on screen, remember? Also she had a totally different name.

Travis III Well, this one's a flashback episode that shows how the all the members of the team came to join Torchwood. A bit derivative (a lot of SF shows have done this story at some point), and a bit silly at times, but...I really liked it. True, I say this about most episodes, but I found it very interesting, and overall rather good Especially considering how little back story we've had on most of the characters. People will criticise this episode on a lack of originality (There is an explosion, main character(s) falls(s) unconscious, has/have flashbacks to before the series to develop a bit of a back story...), but Torchwood ,and even Doctor Who, aren't exactly renowned for their original plotlines. Look at some of the latter show's stuff from the mid 70's. I wouldn't exactly call a lot of that original, yet many consider this period to be the series' golden age. So anyway, I liked this episode quite a lot, and, thanks in part to the episode cliffhanger and proceeding trailer, as well as my own fanboyism, I can hardly wait for Exit Wounds. I hope it lives up to the last couple of episodes. Being a Chibnall episode, I should probably be hoping for the worst, but his writing has improved since last series, so you never know... On the topic of Out of Gas, I've gotta say that I think Out of Gas is better than Fragments, it much more fluid, and fits together alot better. All in all, better direction.
